Great start! We're leaders of the table now

Good line up I think. Good move by Hughton to put Guthrie in and to put Butt on the bench.

Guthrie starts! Carroll not in starting line up.

Do we even have enough kids to get 11 people on the field and a full bench if we lose another three players, on top of the 10 already out the door, out of a squad that was too small last season? I'm struggling to think of anyone we have available who didn't feature on the pitch or bench on Wednesday. Barton and Butt both didn't feature on Wednesday

He missed part of the training. Was sat on the wall out the front, showed you on SSN. Good to know. Can't watch SSN so I missed that.
-
On Getty Images I can't see Taylor in any of those training pics. Doesn't mean a lot though. http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?EventId=89985570&editorialproduct=2

Barton still out. Bad news really. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1763243,00.html

Butt is back... first defeat to come now? http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1763224,00.html

Are you a writer on that site by any chance ? Just seems strange the link posted is from nufcblog rather than the journal http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/08/21/gutierrez-magpies-set-to-fly-back-into-top-flight-61634-24495833/ where the article came from. No! it was on newsnow in the last half an hour or so.

Jonas seems happy to stay now. Doesn't mean too much though. http://www.nufcblog.com/2009/08/21/gutierrez-argentine-place-safe-now-wants-to-stay/

I'd rather lose Jonas than Duff tbh. Jonas has NO end product while Duff at least sometimes gets some usefull crosses in and he can score goals as well. But it would be ideal if we would keep both because our squad (or our "good group of lads" like CH would say) is paper thin.
-
I'd be hugely surprised if a new manager would be announced the day of a match. Wasn't Kinnear announced on the day we played Blackburn at home last season?
-
Once again a transfer totally out of the blue. No rumours about that at all. Good signing I think.
-
Happy Birthday Al!
-
Whatever people may hope, but Butt is definitaly going to play unless he's injured/banned or he gets sold.
-
I also think that if he would have tackled that way - lets say a Hull player - he wouldn't have been sent off. It was because he is Joey Barton and it was because the opponents were Liverpool IMO.
-
Owen wasn't even allowed to take a pen

Will be a 2:1 win for us (hopefully). Shola to score and maybe Barton as well.
