  1. he did what? still 6m is apparently still a fortune to us but for the rest of the league it's absolutely fucking nothing to spend on a player who might fail
  2. this is where i am with this lad, though i'd maybe not go as far as awful
  3. we're probably going to have to put up with this shit for at least another season like, i reckon it'll be 16/17 when it all falls apart for him
  4. and how was our attacking play, ball retention, passing through midfield, getting behind their defence to worry them etc. in those games oh wise one? why are you making out like it's not all linked? of i course i agree that we're littered with examples of rank bad defending and shit defenders who were badly organised, but why can't you just accept that an improved possession and passing game with real attacking intent might relieve the pressure on a defence through them not having to defend their box incessantly every fucking game?
  5. He exists just to create counter positions to every opinion and then spend his time defending it, its fucking pointless. This is a case in point; we say that increased possession and a better passing game might help relieve the defence. What's to disagree with, why would you? He can't have that though so Martinez is wheeled out of nowhere as if it means anything to Steve McLarens NUFC and we're told in no uncertain terms that organisation is the key, not possession, possession shouldn't be the ultimate aim, because he said so, and no one said it was anyway. Fuck that.
  6. I just don't think he's particularly good at developing young players, also i think he knows it as well. Not that there's anything wrong with that though, all top managers have things that they are not particularly good at from Guardiola, Ancelotti etc etc all of them have significant faults and this happens to be one of Mourinho's. Since the moment he left Porto he's managed the richest clubs in the world and has rarely stayed at any of them very long. He's an immediate results manager, that's all that matters to him and he can get away with it because he's always ar cash rich clubs.
  7. It's definitely possible. A lot depends on how the midfield gels, and obviously if Mbemba adapts. A lot might also depend on how well we manage to implement an improved possession/passing game overall. If we're controlling games with the ball it'll relieve the pressure on the defence and allow them to organise better. We've been so shit with the ball for years the defenders have always been under immense pressure in games, ran ragged basically.
  8. Can't get excited, though it seems like a shite decision to me like.
  9. christ yes! but preferably he could spin the failure down to hatem ben arfa not tracking back and they'll let him hang onto the job so he can secure failure for 2022 nothing i want to see more in football than pardew as england manager, has to happen
  10. if that's it now for spending and no-one else goes for big money where does that leave us roughly with the money in the bank, profit and all that shit?
  11. Macheda played well for two games, Januzaj had a good full season and wasn't given much of a chance last season Did he? I must have missed that, I remember him being decent, good even, against the mackems themselves and that was it for the season afair Yes he had a good season for Man Utd under Moyes. He was probably their best player, albeit in a team not playing well for a lot of that season. Would be a good signing for Sunderland although having so many loans is a bit thick 4 goals in 35 appearances that season, I'm sure 2 or even 3 of them were against Sunderland as well. Luckily I have eyes so I don't need to rely on stats to have an opinion not often i disagree with you tbh but there you go, he was talked about a lot during that season largely as a result of winning that game at sunderland on his own as i remember it, and then he flattered to deceive for the rest of the season imo Sorry if my post came across as a bit harsh, I wasn't implying that you didn't watch him or anything but I do think he's a good player and I think some people are very quick to write off young players when they go through a bad patch ah yeah there's every chance he'll turn out to be a good player but so far for me, looking at it objectively, he's done no more than say aarons and aarons has barely played any football due to injury and plays for a fucking clowns college 11

  15. Ah same, thought they'd bought them. They seem intent on staying in the league without ever owning a team capable of doing it. Perhaps there's some type of record needs breaking.
  16. Tbh all the new lads are talking a decent game, it's almost like they were brought up in professional setups and treat the game with the respect it deserves. We'll soon sort that I'm sure.
  17. if he scores even a reasonable amount of goals the fans are gonna love this lad like
  18. Fistpump literally has the greatest job in the world for him didn't he? Paid millions and they let him fuck about pretending he's on the telly and everything. I think Jim must have fixed it for him tbh.
  19. As a minimum make him last choice and start Lascelles. He might not be great, in fact he might be shit, but I'd rather find out than know what Williamson is going to do. Again.
  20. pick those bones charners, pick em real good
