Obertan made no attempt to help Haidara....Left Haidara trying to cover vs 2 Southampton attackers continuously. Agreed

Dat punctuation. Yoda, is it you?

Went up for a header and landed on his arse/lower back as he came down. He looked in pain.

this is something that seems to get overlooked at lot colback is a nightmare man, he must be blackmailing someone OTT.

this is something that seems to get overlooked at lot colback is a nightmare man, he must be blackmailing someone I'm really hoping that McClaren has seen this also and makes Anita a central cog in this team. Having him in the same team as Colback is pointless though. I don't know if it was just me, but it looked like he was playing further forward than Colback. i thought the other way, first half anyway when i could watch it a bit better, thought colback was the further forward of the two and anita was looking for the ball a bit deeper hard to tell on a shite stream tbh

even his harshest critic (me apparently) would agree with this he's got to realise pretty soon though that some of the shite we've got shouldn't be playing unless there are no more options

hold my hands up, he looked a considerably improved player today, almost like he's been given a defined and specific role by a competent coaching i guess

What an overreaction.

attacking wasn't remotely the problem today like, imo what cost us today is mclaren (or anyone else on the staff) being able to see the game slipping away for 10-15 minutes before they scored because our attack had run out of steam/ideas...if he'd have put aarons and mitro on at about 60 minutes we'd probably have won Joking aside, I think you're being a bit harsh - our shape lost its structure after Anita went off and it was clear in the final quarter of the game that Southampton were by far the fitter side. I'm not sure whether changing up the attack would've made all that much difference tbh when the core of our midfield were all absolutely shagged. i'm saying they scored the equaliser on 79 minutes, from about 60 minutes on we were offering nothing going forward whatsoever because they'd either worked us out or we were knackered, or both agree about anita and that was another shite sub from mclaren but had we changed it ourselves when it was obvious the game was slipping away from us then things might have been different

yep, we're not getting a new CB like, that'll be next summer, so they need to start getting the 4 to play together as a unit, probably a bit narrower to minimise the gap between colo and mbemba
-
go back and watch the 15 minutes leading up to their goal, he was wandering around like he'd ran a marathon one very good cross disguised a poor-average performance imo, he's fucking shit and needs peddling
-
difference with mbiwa is we'll not scapegoat the poor lad for the goals
-
Wijnaldum ran out of gas tbf Even Aarons for Wijnaldum with Sissoko moving inside would have been better. he got a key stuff wrong today, no doubt about it

have i? i don't think so like but maybe, pretty sure i've not been one of the most vocal against him but anyway i stand by what i said about today his subs were fucking shite, he was unable to see the game was going away from us and failed to change up the attack when it needed switching, and he started fucking obertan and colback/anita in CM Seems to me whenever I've read your posts in pre-season you've been exceedingly negative about him and picked up on the smallest of things and went ott. perhaps, in some respects, but i think where i've gone OTT is with him making the same mistakes as his predecessors which he's still fucking doing i'll restate that i think it's clear he's a better manager than we've had, and the change in the coaching staff and the positive effect of that is obvious, but he's the manager and he's got to do better than he did today with the in game stuff
-
it's his movement when he doesn't have the ball, it's always been his strength tbh it just made no odds in a pardew team noticed mbemba doing similar stuff at the back today actually

it's very clear the overall approach and coaching have improved exponentially, but he made some awful fucking selection/tactical decisions today imo
