  1. Again I'll repeat for those who are so deeply ingrained in Pardewland that I have no doubt whatsoever McLaren is smart enough to realise a limited big man needs service, or conversely a quality tricky fucker needs less service. AP understood neither of these things.
  2. Think this Bas Dost argument is fucking stupid personally. Okay he's limited and won't contribute to play and under the Pardew/Carver axis of evil he'd be a waste of time. However whatever we think of McLaren in the big picture I'm confident he knows enough to understand that signing a limited big man without changing the way we play will fail. There's reasons to be negative, but let's not get carried away with it.
  3. Know something the rest of the world doesn't? Huh? TCD mentioned Liverpool so I'm asking if he's being mentioned as a target for them....
  4. Jesus he's not rumoured to be going to Liverpool is he? Cabs pulling the strings for Sterling, Coutinho & Sturridge
  5. Can't risk a Leeds or Portsmouth man
  6. Some shithouse journalist on twitter I think

All else aside this is about it. Appoint this never-was instead of actually getting and paying for someone qualified. This post-ashley statement thing looks like it's been organised entirely by The Bishop to me.
  8. Mourinho is helping his agent make money while getting an experienced ally in the dressing room. Same old. Anything to avoid playing a youth product. I was thinking of it from Monaco's side like, mental they've raked that amount of money in so far and might still recoup the original fee. Again, Monaco primarily bought Jorge Mendes owned players when they had cash - Falcao, Carvalho, Moutinho - whole thing's a swizz (bar Man U who got duped). Right, gotcha

  10. Honestly think the Wonga blue square adds a lot to the shirt. Pity it's the Wonga label though, if the sash was just split into three colours I'd really like it.
  11. Am I wrong here but didn't Monaco pay something like 50m for Falcao and raked in 16m from manyoo and now a similar fee from Chelsea for one year loans? And he's clearly fucked. What's going on?
  12. The fuck? He was pretty crap for Inter last season. Yep, that's why I'm laughing at the fee
  13. This and the mackems has to be his focus if he's got any fucking sense mind
  14. Disagree that you can predict it like, even in his people patch runs we could equally be crucified in any given match than win the next one. Need the wheels off for Pardle next season, fucking hate him.
  15. The fuck? Guessing it's a low fee so Galatasaray can afford his wages. That, and he's out of contract next summer so Arsenal probably want rid given he's finished there and likely a massive earner. Thought it was way too much tbh
  16. "£70m war chest" "I will invest" Gets Jesse Lingard on loan Why am I not fucking surprised - of course it also makes perfect sense to bring in the majority of last seasons Derby side that failed to gain promotion. Sure fire recipe for capturing that elusive trophy. "Mike's interview was very positive". It's just the same old rinse and repeat low ball bids, and pissing about looking at loan. One of our targets has already gone to Southampton. It's depressingly predictable. Fuck this noise man. I think I already hate McLaren more than is humanly possible because he's bought into this shit.
  17. Pantilimon's face. Defoe's face is the absolute interpretation of 'I'm here for the money'
  18. Not talking about him in particular. I just feel whenever we are linked with a tall/target man the general feeling on the forum is one of disappointment. That it would make us a worse side to watch or something. 90% of good teams need someone that can hold it up. None of our strikers can do that. Shola could do that about 1 every 12 games but now we don't even have that. We have 1 poacher. A #10 playing as a striker. And a turd. If we keep Cisse we shouldn't get another poacher. I'm more confident that with McLaren a big man up front wouldn't necessarily be a Pardew-esque nightmare but as a tactical plan it's really as English and old school as it gets. Then why did Ronald Koeman buy a target man? Why did Wenger buy Giroud? Mourinho, Costa. City, Dzeko & Bony? Even Rooney and RVP are handy with their backs towards goal. Aguero too. Juve Morata & Llorente. Lewandowski. Zlatan. Kane. We have nobody, nothing. It's a major reason why our attacks are so poor. You need to get the ball into the box WITHOUT the striker helping you get it there. Because having those players adds an extra dimension to their play, a plan b or whatever you want to call it. We have no plan a atm and whenever 'big bloke up top' is your primarily gamelan it's more often than not s***. If McLaren also intends to develop all aspects of our game and bring in some actual wingers then no worries but it's unlikely we'll make this guy our first signing at a whopping 9m and then go on to do much more business so it'll probably be long balls launched from the back. You've added in all this nonsense about "big bloke up top". I don't think you need actual wingers if you have a target man. Swansea, S'hampton, Arsenal, City etc. have managed well with big players up top without wingers getting chalks on their boots swinging in cross after cross. I dont care how tall the striker we buy is, it would be just nice to have one who can play with his back to goal and bring others into play. We dont have anyone in our squad currently capable of doing that. We don't have anyone capable of doing fucking anything in our squad, hence my concern or 'nonsense' that our first move is seemingly for a big bloke when we're literally the worst team in the league in terms of quality of our general play. It's possible that this guy will just make it all click and we'll become a lush footballing team using a big man with a great touch to perfect effect but somehow I doubt it seeing as he's probably not very good.
