2014 FIFA World Cup Brasil™ - Europe vs. America
mrmojorisin75 replied to LucaAltieri's topic in Football
with a headbutt or an elbow you'd rarely be in control enough to know the type of damage you're going to inflict as well, the face is a very fragile area of the body if hit in the right/wrong way...to say he hardly touched him or whatever just doesn't cut it for me, treat them all very harshly, biting harsher than everything else if you like but the game is way too light on headbutts and elbows if they're dishing out punishments like this for biting tbh -

Mr W should try. That way, if it's bad, I'll jeer Ian. hate myself for laughing at this. -

amazed at how relaxed people are about headbutts like, suppose they're rarely the same as the type of headbutt you'd get down the biggmarket like but still....being "wound up" is literally no excuse and imo they should be treated as harshly as biting...same for a standing elbow where say 2 players are jostling together and one decides to elbow the other off the ball, ban the fuck out of them -
at our current rate we'll be something like -100m in 10 years tbf fucking stupid manyoo

As an illegal offense that shouldn't happen, but does happen in rugby because you grapple with your opponent and there's the possibility of going too far in that respect. Considered serious in rugby, probably considered much more serious in cricket. There's clear rules for punishments for eye-gouging in the code of rugby, so even though it's an illegal act it's part of the sport in that respect. -

what about eye-gouging in rugby, how do they view that, as part of the game? -

what a load of s**** Sorry but it happens all the time. Crappy ones at least. Zidane style headbutts are rare. Elbows and headbutts are built into football games lol. Agreed, it's pointless pretending that these conventions don't exist. Certain physical contact is an escalation of the normal rough and tumble of a sport. what about something like stamping on players then lads, is that built into the sport? the initial point was that biting, elbows, eye-gouging or anything of it's kind are not things that happen during play (with the exception of a jumping elbow which will always be controversial) so why single out one of them? treat them all harshly it all goes away, or we could just let peppe keep headbutting people and so on -
can't imagine what's so hard about it all like, he's just trying to fucking buy something should stick him on one of those shows where you've got to live on a fiver a week or whatever, bet he'd sort out deals no bother after that

it shouldn't depend on the severity of the act tbh, if you throw an elbow and get lucky by not seriously hurting someone you should get the same punishment as someone who succeeds with the intent of his elbow (or bite or whatever) -

my problem with biting is that it has the potential to spread disease and infection. On that alone it is worse than head butting and elbowing. that's the most extreme outcome though lets be honest, an elbow could very easily result in damage to sight and the end of a career for example, headbutts similar if done properly i'm saying treat them the same, they're all violent conduct that have nothing to do with making a challenge where damage can be accidental -

the peppe comparison is an interesting one, it wouldn't surprise me if the Uruguayan FA use it heavily in their appeal process if that's possible i totally agree as well, headbutts and elbows (standing not jumping) should be treated exactly the same as biting and if they're crucifying suarez then they should have peppe on the cross next to him tbh -

liverpool are at a serious crossroads with the biting here surely? the last biting one they could and i'm sure would argue that they stuck by him as way to rehabilitate himself from the first (with them) mistake but what are they going to say now if they decide to stick with him? it won't matter because the subtext will be "he's worth a lot of money, money > principles" -
My God those two blondes

Too late, I'm pretty sure he's already slavered over those very attributes of US players in the press in the last couple of days. Run run run, jump jump jump, lose lose lose.
-
Hope Pardle isn't watching the USA games like, he'll cream his fucking pants at all the running and jumping possibilities. They're pretty cheap too yank players aren't they? Fill up a truck and come on home.
-
that's an excellent shirt that like

Considering lacazette and Grenier aren't even at the world cup I see no reason for the delays. Sounds like more bullshit to placate to me you think? the fucking dickheads, i was all excited there
-
lacazette, grenier and cabella huh? seems legit
-
colombia deserves to win both the world cup and the internet tbh

not sure psychology is really the right term for what england lack collectively, for me the fact we never get the better of anyone (decent) tactically is by far the biggest issue - we're always on the backfoot in that sense and it'll always lead to players performing badly/under-performing when was the last time we came up against a good team not only nullified their main threat but also made our threats pertinent in the game? never i'd imagine
