  1. He started at midweek and has played consistently throughout the season, even scoring a goal. I also doubt Mourinho doesn't rate him, given he was the one that gave him his first appearances in England. remember JM was the manager when he signed like aye pointless player, totally and utterly pointless - i struggle to think of a more pointless player at a top club tbh A completely pointless player that has played consistently at a top club for 7 seasons under 38 different managers, started for a winning side in Champions League final and is easily the best player for his country. 99.9 percent of footballers are pointless now I suppose. The Premiership games today are very boring. aye that's him, he's f***ing pointless Our positions differ too much for any decent argument. I think he is a top player. Whenever I've seen Chelsea this season, every attack ends with Ivanovic having ten minutes to cross the ball and hitting the first defender every time. All their goals are from counters or opposition mistakes. ok, i'm willing to concede that my memory is not great but tell you what - he's played for one of the top clubs in europe for years and years now as you've said...can you name me 5 memorable performances he's put in (less than 1 per year easy), and by memorable i mean games where you could reasonably look at it and say "if it wasn't for mikel we might have lost that game", or "mikel won us that game" i'd be amazed if you came up with one and nigeria doesn't count But like how many players that play in that position can you say are noticeably brilliant in games? depends who you're comparing him to but let's say the likes of makelele or busquets? is that out of order? i don't think so...players you'd class as purely defensive instead of box to box i've seen both play less than i've seen mikel and both have stood out more than him he's scored 3 goals in chelsea's team since 2006...i can't find assist stats but i would suspect they'll be fuck all either i retract the statement he's shit, but standby the pointless one - he does nothing in great teams that have dominated over the last few years They're also two of the best (defensive) midfielders of the past 20 years. but mikel is a "top player" duece...ok give me a level below those 2, name names, and i'm sure we can all easily think of games they've influenced more than mikel ever has bear in mind you have to be talking about players at clubs in the top echelon of european football in the last 7 or so years otherwise it's an unfair comparison
  2. bollocks, i can think of more games that tiote has stood out in than mikel....HM's will never stand out every game, i'm asking someone to give me 5 mikel games which is not even 1 a season Not saying Mikel isn't shit but a holding mid for us is going to have a damn sight more to do than a holding mid for Chelsea. which i fully accept, but chelsea don't dominate every game...should therefore be easy over the 50+ games a season they've played since 2006 to give me some performances where the lad has stood out and shined to win them games should be easy but it's not, 'cause he hasn't

  8. where is mikel for chelsea? has mourinho become the first manager to realise how utterly shit he is? or is he injured?
  9. He knows we played well at Sunderland does he? Knowledgeable fella then, knows his football.
  10. Just came on to post that with any luck Palace paid attention to the SCHOOLING pardiola gave Mourinho and decide to go all out for him
  11. Before today, I would say what Cabaye has over Anita is the final ball/goals. He's much better in general possession is Anita. He showed today he can use his mobility very well in the final third too. Previously wasn't sold on Anita at all. But over these last few weeks he's looked to have adapted to the league. He hasn't played for a couple of weeks mind
  12. should never, ever have been dropped, hope knackers see's this now he's a better midfielder than cabaye tbh
  13. i think he set out the team to be competitive in the early stages...if chelsea were on their game it'd have been over but they weren't so the daft cunt got lucky but anyway fuck it, he had a plan and it worked...also he changed the game in the second half and went for the win, wullie must be lost easy to forget we only started to look shit 'cause he ended up dropping his best midfielder at the first sign of trouble like, the same little tinker who has just dig him out of the shit here
  14. where's ronaldo, is he still to small or whatever?
  15. sounds stupid, if you know fuck all about football, he's tiki-taka munguss and fuckin class
  16. So much calmer & more efficient on the ball as everyones saying. Exactly what we needed against Sunderland, a presence of mind. I'm crushing over here. as much as i love big vurn, let's not underestimate shola going off and the impact that also must have had
  17. Are you tree? Is it confirmed? Been said by a few people attending on twitter. can't real man, if the club ejected someone for holding up a copy of the chron they'd be fucked - club would have to notify ST holders in advance that it wasn't allowed, they can't just decide what is and what is not allowed on a whim to someone they have a contract with
  18. what's been said sorry?
  19. crossed my mind some time ago that he's perhaps at the point of wanting sacking himself now...he presumably stull believes in himself, but he must know now he'll never get the back to sign players he might be able to work with and he's always going to getting shafted by MA if i was him i'd be trying to get the bullet, walk away with a payoff in the likelihood that many people (especially in the media) will throw the shit at MA and not at his own horrific failings be a good time for him to get sacked tbh, from his own perspective
