  1. I agree to a point. What I think is different is that at his current age he's mature enough to perform consistently but playing under a tactically deficient manager who courts inconsistency he'll never achieve it. HBA playing under a top manager, even someone like Martinez who knows how to adapt his team to achieve tactical aims going forward, in my opinion he'd excel. We'll never know.
  2. this is my point EDIT: all over the place here trying to squeeze replies in - the point is that hull were ripped up a bit then closed HBA and remy down effectively, pardew left HBA on the right to run at 3 men continually, there was no tactical change to exploit the space that should have been left later on he started playing HBA as a withdrawn forward, like liverpool, but it was clearly not a tactically thought-out move he just threw him on expecting it to work remy is scoring for fun so i'd expect norwich to mark him tightly next game, what do you think the chances are that we're already working on getting HBA and gouffran to exploit that space effectively? slim to none for me, it'll either be shola again or HBA right wing "run at 'em son" I would just leave it mate, best to make those points after a game where that's how it pans out. Pardew's got his big results that he needed. might as well resign yourself to another season of random football and mid-table mediocrity. Aye you're right man. I know, can't help myself sometimes.
  3. you really have no idea I was talking about Hatem. I know you were, you seem to think I'm saying he's a bad player? I'm not, I think he's a talented player playing under an average manager. Being generous with average.

  6. nothing huh? so full of shit man you said he'd used him well in the past, i suggested that since his early form teams might well have adapted to that and pardew needs to find a way to use him differently in games like the hull match i don't know what more you wanted, unless it was merely for me to agree with you that pardew has used him well in the past, which i agree with to an extent
  7. i don't know, it's almost like opposing teams analysed how we played with HBA then took countermeasures to prevent him from having an impact instead of letting him skip past them at will and score goals i'm referring of course to lower-mid table teams coming up to SJP last time it happened pardew had nothing in his locker, hopefully they've been working on it since hull
  8. Dunno to be honest, you would like to think not. We definitely find it more difficult against the teams who defend. HBA seems a must. we're back to where we started though aren't we? he hasn't a fucking clue how to use HBA properly Not sure that's quite true, I think it's more that he values the defensive contribution of other players. Hopefully he'll decide to take a bit more of a risk in these upcoming games, Norwich at least. i mean when the other team turn up and close down HBA pardew never, ever has a response or a different tactical approach to exploit it - hull was the prime example

  10. he'll not start shola in those 2 games will he, surely?
  11. the more i watched that tackle the worse it got, the lads foot slid on the turf away from the impact or he'd have snapped him in half had it stayed planted if he doesn't get done for it what's the point man, might as well let them carry knives
  12. i can't bear the thought of us huffing and puffing and toiling to get past parked defences man, fills me with absolute would rather watch our away games, at least pardew has sort of a clue how to approach them
  13. mind you don't analyse the performances on any level though, in case you have the wrong mentality
  14. i thought they might have to bring the cart on to get shola off the pitch you're right, a mobile big would have helped us second half for sure....again arguably points to pardew not getting it 100% right (but not getting it wrong) - first half we were mobile as a team and using the channels well with the ball on the ground, shola didn't really do anything cisse couldn't have done first half, we might have been better served bringing shola on at 60 minutes or so to battle and hold up
  15. bollocks - he's used the tactic countless times and we've lost points as a result...this time we didn't, that's it in a nutshell really if he's not popular it's because he's lost so many fucking points doing it EDIT: and i'll not ignore the fact that spurs are the better team, most people would expect us to be dominated to some degree away from home however if you're playing the rope-a-dope game then there has to be a punch in there for yourself as well, you can't just take the hits for the entire match as more often than not you'll get knocked the fuck out Whey I'd argue that our tactics were imposed upon us thanks largely to Tottenham's quality. Fully appreciate he has previous for sitting on marginal leads like, but it's a bit petty to criticise him for it after a fantastic victory. We're never going to agree, just find the mentality a bit depressing. Even more depressing than Pardew's management. what mentality?

  17. I see the point you're making, but at the same time I think it's possible to be dominated in spells by a superior team without it automtically being the manager's fault. And I reckon you're selling our defenders short as well, I thought they were excellent as a unit even when under almost constant pressure. the defence were excellent but let's be honest spurs created enough clear cut chances to win the game second half...i'm not trying to criticise them because they were superb against strong opposition the most amazing thing for me sunday was that pardew made a sub on 55 minutes after spurs were tearing us apart from the restart...he's rarely that fast, i felt sure they'd score before he made the change but for once it went our way and they didn't as stated with the tiredness thing i said just before the second half wasn't entirely his "fault" but everyone must have known we'd tire and they'd push second half, a good manager would have planned for that and we'd have done them on the break a little more often - i think this would have had to come through sissoko as he was about the only one who had any legs left
  18. Yep, we got too deep, down to Spurs pushing us back and ourselves getting too deep. As good as Remy is holding the ball up isn't his game. And it's not a strong point of Cisse's either. We were dying for a player to hold it. It's essential we sign that type of player as it would suit us perfectly. players were knackered and all like, it was a combination of everything, you could almost see cabaye, gouffran, remy & shola visibly wilt and stop
  19. honestly like, given the margins the club is run under, we need to start shipping out the likes of obertan & shola* before we're likely to sign new....can't see any way we'll pay money for ince with obertan on the books, for example *
  20. saturday was just a microcosm of pardew 1st half he gets it largely right, there was a balance between attack and defence and we caused them lots of problems 2nd half he gets the balance completely fucking wrong and we were dominated more or less the entire half - had spurs scored at least one, which they easily could have, he'd have been crucified again for doing the same shit he always does when we're winning the thing was our general defending wasn't such hot shit, they created a lot, but krul had an incredible day between the posts so in summary, he's still pretty shit
  21. if we regularly beat better sides, they wouldn't be fucking better than us would they?
  22. not if you're offering fees for people coming out of contract i don't think we'll sign anyone personally like
  23. Yep. agree on the 2nd half part but didn't want to be seen to be super critical by saying it...could have backfired badly but fuck it, didn't so fair play
  24. if he can just get them to turn up vs. the shite then people will stop asking questions of the daft cunt done well last 2 games mind
