That one. Gosh, well clearly I was wrong. Except Keegan is still a crap pundit. Where's your apology? he ignore all these questions it's 'cause he's sane man, and we're all mental

is that me or him? it's him right? i'm losing it here...self-imposed banishment and i return to find the forum turned upside down

you are NE5 man, you've turned heel this is amazing

my problem with this is we "bid" around the 10m euro mark at the start of the window for 2 strikers, then when that all fell apart none, NONE of our other options were worth paying a similar amount of money for?' the "bids" themselves denote the club realise it was a priority (to the fans) position to sign a player in, so they bid early and go public after that, with 8 months of research behind them, you're telling me seriously they couldn't find and sign a striker for around 10m euros that's really what you think you need help man Your post doesn't seem to have anything to do with the post that you are quoting. Feel free to explain what you don't understand about the sentence "They need to get a lot better at playing their own game, however." i was replying to this as all evidence points to the opposite of what you're saying basically EDIT: what i would say though, in their defence, is that if they could have found another good striker who was cheap or free then they'd have had no hesitation in signing him it's clear to me, as it should now be to everyone, that we will not be spending money over and above what we recoup in fees from sales (unless it's a HBA type signing who is clearly worth more than the fee paid) was it coincidence maiga went on "strike"? personally i don't think so, the only thing preventing his cut price arrival was the reluctance of his club to cave in 2 misconduct allegations in one window, frankly i'm amazed it's so few - it'll become par for the course imo...it's well known ashley likes to throw the rule book away in his business dealings, why would this be different? Well, fine. You carry on believing that we're making player bids for PR reasons alone, and I'll carry on thinking you're two fries short of a Happy Meal. people have already pointed out numerous examples of why you're wrong mate, read the writing, or answer my questions in that last post I put strict limits on the time I spend conversing with people who believe insane things. sorry but what's insane? Has anything happened like? Are you for real man??? Yes, as far as I know they've taken down some of the letters but nothing new has gone up. Sorry if Imissed something, I haven't been reading every page of this thread. You do know that Sports Direct one is made up, right? awwww ian man, you're tops like but come on - what do you think is gonna go up like? they're not cleaning the letters ahead of putting them back or something Well we'll see, if it happens I'll be as angry as anyone. All I've seen so far is a photo of some of the letters take down, and others left up out of order, and nothing else. Oh, and lots of people on a forum going mental over something that hasn't happened. As far as I can see it's just as likely to be maintenance as an evil plan to destroy the heritage of NUFC, but as I've said if something does happen then I'll go mental too. The club have already confirmed it's not for maintenance ffs. Ah right, missed that, as I said I haven't read the whole of the thread in detail. Have they said what it is then? Bit daft to claim everyone's 'going mental over something that hasn't happened' if you've not even read the thread then. The club have said it's going to be replaced with 'new, identical lettering' but have refused to confirm or deny that there's going to be commercial stuff added. Well, I've read the thread title and the last couple of pages, so I assumed that if the story was "NU lettering to be replaced with 'Cockneyz Rule OK' " I would have picked it up. From what you've said there's identical lettering going up, and there may or may not be something else added. So as I said before, nothing to go mental about at all. It's shit on here at the moment, worst for a long time IMO. Aye, it's almost like everyone's just been fucked over for the umpteenth time. Was gonna say the exact same thing, when does it fucking end man?

personally not that bothered if they add the SD shit in front but they shouldn't take down the NEWCASTLE UNITED imo, i actually think they're ahead of the game with regards this tripe...it will become the norm to add a sponsorship to stadium names/stands etc... just as per usual they're doing it wrong

what would that entail, out of interest

I've thought this too, but TBF Ashley hasn't been shy of plastering the SD logo over everything else. perhaps he's treating every potential sponsorship deal like he treats transfers" potential sponsor: how much for sponsoring the shirts mr ashley? mike: 35m a year, no less, i just read what liverpool are getting potential sponsor: ok mike understood, let's try 5m a season? mike: (picks up phone) security, please escort these people from the premises

If the correct targets weren't available, they weren't available. If we'd wasted 10m on somebody who turned out to be no good, in 2 months time this entire forum would be having a go at the board for signing a load of shite my word, seriously? nothing has changed has it? why is peter crouch the only fucking option? we were scrubbing around with borderline insulting bids for strikers when we'd earmarked 10m euros (allegedly) for a striker...if we wanted maiga or whoever with the knowledge we needed a player badly in that position why wouldn't we pay the market value? if he wasn't worth paying the money for why were we even interested?

Turns out getting banned from the forum for the business end of the transfer window is an awesome way to go. With any luck Hughesy will be along on 1st January sucking the life out of everything as per so I can miss it all again. Can anyone give me a quick status update though? All the wait til 1st September merchants, have they drank the coolaid yet?
