Hell no? I've heard worse options, most people were saying they would take Steve Bruce ffs. Grant knows his football. Explain please, how Grant knows his football? Who has he previously managed before his "jobs for the boys" stint at Chelsea? You can see by the way his Chelsea team played, they were organized and good tactically. Some are obviously putting that down to him just having a good team, but i don't think it is as simple as that. Why didn't Hughton do aswell as Keegan? Why didn't Souness do aswell as Robson? I have no reason to think he's a mug.

Baffling isn't it, not only would it make no sense at all for Ashley to sell players, but any potential buyer wouldn't stand for it either. Your talking about Ashley here though, he thinks to make life easier for the next lot taking over we should not have a full time manager in charge. So selling a keeper who is on big bucks when we have Stevie Harper + a host of goalkeepers who have been picked at various age groups for there country may make sense to him on some level. He's not a moron despite what alot of people like to think, and personally i think having an interim manager makes perfect sense as the news guys will want to bring in their own manager, it saves them having to pay-off whoever has the job. How many of these takeovers have happened & the new crowd have come in with a new manager as part of there plan? Or sacked a current manager with in a month of taking over so they could bring in there own man? If you were buying a club, would you be happy with the previous regime giving someone a long term contract even though they know they're selling?

I still don't see how Ashley would benefit from selling. Selling would annoy any buyer and shave value off the squad, and therefore the sale price, which includes the squads value. Ashley will get money from Given by keeping him, so why sell, during a relegation battle, and put the clubs future further in doubt?
-
What do you mean bring money in for Ashley? The value of the squad is in the clubs price, so he will get money for Given either way, selling would be silly considering we're in a relegation battle.

I didn't say it's like Allardyce's, he plays a different formation. I would say it's almost as bad to watch. Bruce would be another Souness, and i would cry if we signed him. If a takeover happens we will be able to attract far better.
-
How is he a good version of Allardyce? He has achieved less and his football is almost as bad. We may aswell just keep JFK, and i really don't want that.

No.

Or a midfielder that garbles up everything. In other words a Nicky Butt replacement, that should be our priority.

What has Mark Hughes done that is so impressive? I wouldn't consider him.

Due diligence STILL hasn't started? Bugger me.

Ready shmeddy, most people would take Shearer, i'd say Ketsbaia would be better prepared for it. The thing with Ketsbaia is that this is his club, he used to be their main player and now he's the manager, everyone there respects him from players to fans to the board, coming here everything will be diffrent and it'll be really hard to do what he did with Anorthosis here. I think his personality demands respect, he's not exactly shy, i think he would grab the opportunity with both hands and wrestle it to the floor. In all honesty if i was the new owner i would probably go for an experienced coach like Houllier or Sven, but i wouldn't be unhappy if we hired Kets.

Better than the american owners who've won the league twice and the CL with ManU? Better than the american owner who has done a fantastic job at Villa, and got them in a position whereby they could feasibly challange the top 4? Better than the american owners at liverpool who've qualified for the CL every year? I hope they're better too, but I'd be surprised.... You would really be happy with owners like Hicks/Gillett and the Glazers? For me going to a successful club, saddling it with hundreds of millions of debt while it continues to be successful isn't an achievement. A Lerner would be good though. I'd take it if it was secured against almost guaranteed CL qualification and a successful club, i.e. not really a problem. You talk like they have had something to do with that. Both were already hugely successful clubs, all they have done is toyed with their long term future. £600m of debt will always bite you on your arse at some point.
