  1. Hence the stories of all of our top players being available for the right price and who can blame them? These so called top players haven't got us anywhere near Europe which means they just aren't worth their wages. Why not get them out and bring in younger players for half the price and half the wages? Providing you can of course identify those who have the talent to perform in the first team. It's all making a lot more sense now. Ashley should have just been more open about all this from the outset. You don't get anywhere as a football club by selling your best players and then bringing inferior ones in to replace them. Cheaper doesn't mean inferior.
  2. Spot on. If we do manage so stay up and keep on bringing these youngsters in along with shipping some of the deadwood, high earners out (Butt, Viduka, Duff, Smith, Cacapa, Geremi, etc), the future does start looking a little better. I think it would also encourage Ashley to invest more into the first team as he'd have more capital to play with. That's probably between 15 and 20 million in wages a year right there. :-[
  3. I would've accepted that before i saw them spend £30m on Bellamy and De Jong. Hold them to ransom i say.
  4. I'd love to know what our wage bill is. The amount of players getting paid millions a year for doing fuck all is shocking.
  5. From what i've read (and not seen) a big athletic lump ready to kick lumps out of people. Just what we need tbh. We need technique, skill, athleticism, pace, drive, energy etc. in midfield. We don't need kickers or big lumps. Does he possess these or even some of them? Lets buy Patrick Vieira circa 2001. I can't think of anyone that fits that bill these days.
  6. What, so the money we've been told is available has once again vanished?

Open your eyes man! If only Ashley had backed KK, we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm all for giving Ashley a 2nd chance, but so far he's done nothing to show me he's going to "drive the club forward" like he promised. I hope he proves me wrong. If not, he deserves all the stick he gets. Granted, protests don't do any good, but people get understandably frustrated. Those frustrations are going to come out at some point. He can't sell the club, so we're stuck with him, but he can't expect us to have any respect for him until he stops the club we love from self destructing. I'm well aware of how bad a job Ashley has done. I also think Keegan chose the wrong time to make his point, we had an entire season ahead of us and i think with him here we wouldn't be in a relegation fight. I can't help but feel he threw the towel in too early.

Most of them were not around 82-84, or 92-97, and so havent got a f***ing clue what he did here....FACT. That's a bit of an assumption isn't it. Ok ,then, lets have the names of season ticket holders 82-84, 92-97, who think Keegan is Bad,....... I was I think he was good. So now you have to have been a season ticket holder, any more qualifications one must have to hold an opinion?

Cheers for resigning 3 games into the season. Brilliant.
  11. Such as what? He gets around the same amount of goals and assists, plus he is no more talented. The only thing Lennon has over N'Zogbia is his nationality, which makes him higher profile and about £5m more valuable. And he plays on the right which would give us more balance. We would be better off selling N'Zogbia and buying Pennant with some of the change. Now I don't rate Pennant, but he's about the same quality as Lennon.

  13. "we haven`t actually seen them play," Sounds promising.
  14. I was about to say that. We would probably offer half of whatever Stoke are though, but atleast we'll have tried!!!

    Scraping the barrel

Butt is abysmal, among the worst in the league, but he's not THAT bad.
  16. Aah. Just answered a question I was about to pose. And has that been a straight run of 9 games or has it been a bit on and off ? He started 6 in a row, scored 1, and hasn't started since. I think he's had some injuries as well as bad form.
  17. I saw the thread title and immediately thought of Redknapp, wobbly eyed git.
  18. If its a loan I can't really see it being a terrible decision. Don't think it would be a positive move to be honest. It's not as if he's a class player who's just on a bad run and needs a change of surroundings, he's genuinely just not good enough for the PL. Bit harsh. He was definitely way overpriced, but he is a 21 year old that has only started 9 times in the league.
  19. The best player we have wants to quit the club because he basically agrees with the sentiment behind the banner - I think the message is still relevant. What's this based on? The situation has pissed him off, he might not fully blame the "cockneys" though, i know i don't.
