Yeah we let all the alternatives get snapped up, now we’re at the mercy of Brentford. We’ve played it poorly even if it works out ok in the end.

Who are you expecting us to sign?

There’s Jackson. Everyone else that has been linked has been taken or is unavailable. We’re not signing Vardy though even if people think he could do a job, so no one needs to stress.

I don’t think anyone thinks it would be enough. We’re just scrambling around trying to work out who is still an option. We need someone but there’s no one out there.

It’s very similar, the difference is Liverpool don’t even need Isak.

It’s possible we’ve already sabotaged it. We pursued Isak replacements that were probably never a real option like Sesko, and sat watching all the possible Wissa alternatives get taken. Who do you sign at this point?

I actually saw he’s been linked to Brentford as a Wissa replacement. That shows how barren their options are as well.

It looks like we settled on Wissa as a Wilson replacement in mid-July and in that time we haven’t pursued an alternative, we’ve just sat waiting for Brentford to change their stance. Now we’re in late August and there’s fuck all available. My suspicion is his agent has led us by the nose, we’ve swallowed a story about Brentford agreeing to sell him and ignored what the club are actually saying. That’s the story of the transfer window, us being played by agents. Sesko was an obvious one, he was never going to sign for us but our interest was a useful tool.

To me it’s not terrible for someone that’s not on penalties. I think he was doing well until the second half of last season.

Why would Wolves sell their main striker who they just bought this summer in late August?

Truth is he’s never actually been available, it’s all been maybes. His agent has probably been feeding clubs a story about an agreement with Brentford, but Brentford probably see it very differently. They need his goals to stay in the league. My guess is he agrees to a big pay rise in early September.

He wants €300k+ per week.

I haven’t a clue who they could possibly go for if Napoli end up taking Jackson. Openda is still out there but we’ve had zero interest.

A good striker is the difference between competing for top 5 and finishing around 10-12 for me. But it seems we’re waiting around for a player that isn’t really available.

If Jackson was on pens he could have scored 20+ in his first season with Chelsea, assuming he’s not shit at them. I think his lack of goal scoring ability gets exaggerated. His form fell off massively in the second half of last season as Chelsea’s play got slower and slower. Palmer has struggled as well having not scored from open play in 17 league games. But he’s had penalties to keep him ticking over.

This might not be a popular opinion but I would take Raphinha as well.

Especially if we’re waiting around for a player that isn’t available.
