Roma are big, though not at their peak these days. This year it’s been won by West Ham, a club that has never finished in the top 2 in domestic football in its entire history. How would you feel if a 4th tier European competition was created? Or a 5th? At what tier would they stop being a major prestigious trophies? In theory we could get the whole league playing some form of European competition.

But the conference has zero prestige to big clubs. If the conference league is really a prestigious major trophy then really West Ham have had a better season than us. I wouldn’t swap a top 4 place for conference league personally.

If you pay Tielemans 200k a week you’ll have half a dozen players knocking on the door.

You need to beat top clubs to win the league cup, surely it has more bragging rights.

I mean we have the CL for the best clubs, then we have the Europa league for really good teams that missed out, I just don’t see any need for a 3rd. If it’s good just to have more competitions, why not have a 4th and a 5th? At what point would they become a non-major trophy?

I would expect Man Utd to be as difficult as possible with us, even if they want rid. If he is actually a main target for us they’ll drag it on through the summer and squeeze as many millions out of us as possible, they’d probably accept 30 from midtable clubs but add 10 for us because we’re a threat. He’ll end up being an expensive option in terms of money and effort. That’s my guess anyway. I just wouldn’t do business with Man Utd.

Yep, it’s for medical experts to take a look at and make an assessment. If they think he can be kept fit then it’s a no brainer if he’s available, he’s as guaranteed to be successful as you’re going to get.
