If you want a potential world beater then you probably have to go massive on Samu. If you want a player will get a decent amount of goals and slot into our team pretty seamlessly then it’s Jackson. Realistically I’m not sure who else there is. The other option is to try and get Isak playing again which carries its own risks.

I’m probably more onboard with signing Jackson than anyone else tbh, I think his pace, pressing, and link up play would suit our style perfectly. He needs some refining in other areas of course, but so do most players we sign.

Who would we get that is the same calibre? I wouldn’t consider Šeško or Ekitike the same calibre either.

I think Kalimeundo is one we’ll regret not taking a chance on. Decent goal scoring record, quick, good link up play, skilful. I hope he’s shit.

That’s my point, instead of a player swap we would be agreeing to buy each others players in two separate deals. So if we wanted Torres as part of an Isak deal, instead of it being £80m+Torres, it would be them buying Isak for £130m and in return we buy Torres for £50m.

Player swaps are even less likely in the age of PSR/FFP. Those transfers are probably dead.

I see Ramsdale and Thiaw being starters by the end of the season, they just have good players ahead of them so it will take time.

Strand Larsen would cost similar to Jackson, if he’s even available. Muniz just isn’t very good, he can’t displace Raul Jimenez because he’s basically a decent athlete with very average technique and link up play.
