I’ve missed MNF rambling on about tedious ESL shite. This game was a non-event.
-
I’m not taking the Cucurella talk seriously at all.
-
Maybe Romeo doesn’t want to spend time around Klopp more than twice a season.
-
I would hope that we have a foreign option as well, we can’t rely on being able to do a deal with Arsenal or Chelsea.
-
I can see Man U being worth more than that as part of the super league.
-
A new LB is more about adding threat going forward for me, particularly against teams that sit back.
-
We’ll have to get used to £100m players. If a mega rich club is buying from a rich club, then this will be normal.
-
I probably would’ve waited for the free transfer, but I think him leaving now shows how poorly he thinks this season will go for Spurs, he must see it as a waste of time. I bet he was quite unimpressed when they hired an SPL manager.
-
It’s concerning that £100m fees are being normalised, but I think it’s reasonable that he goes for the same sort of price as Enzo and Rice. If I was given a choice out of the 3 now I would probably go Caicedo.
-
Grealish at Man City is a weird one. He’s obviously not on the same level as others in the squad talent wise, but he’s made himself pretty valuable to Guardiola through his work rate, he’s basically a water carrier. The diving little gobshite should probably be commended for that.
-
Tbh if Tottenham is his boyhood club then I get staying, though I thought he was an Arsenal fan growing up. Staying also makes him look like Levy’s pet mug as well.
-
It's true, players would choose to sign for Brentford for less money than come up to Newcastle, so I've heard.
-
Greaves holds the real record anyway, the PL cut off never made sense.
-
People miss the point of what the “big 6” is. It’s not just the best 6 teams or richest teams, they’re a voting block that work as one in premier league meetings, and conspire together for things like project big picture and the ESL. Newcastle being good or rich isn’t enough to become part of the gang. My hope is that we never become one of them in that regard, but I expect we will.
-
I think it’s a pretty serviceable midtable midfield tbh. The only problem is the cost in fees and wages. I bet all 3 will get 100k+. Also JWP could rack up the assists for them like Baines did in the Everton days. Moyes loves a dive/set piece combo around the box.
-
I bet the wages for them would easily be £250k+ per week as well. Marvellous stuff if it happens.
-
£40m might not even get you McTominay in this market.
-
Great to see David Moyes being backed in the transfer market, as long as he's not manager of your club.
-
If Rice is worth over £100m, I can't really say Caicedo isn't.
-
It's not trash, but the same club has won it 11 years in a row. If that can happen then it's fundamentally broken IMO. It's like the football equivalent to F1.
-
That sounds unappealing compared to leaving on a free next summer and getting a £20m+ signing on fee, which is what I would absolutely do in his position. Bayern isn't a bad move but he can get a better league than the Bundesliga.
-
Chunky but if he’s healthy then this will pay off massively for many years.
