  1. Oh man Olisadebe, he used to be class! Think he was to sign for Juventus at one point but failed a medical or that they lost interest because of his dodgy knee, got completely fucked up by injuries in any case. Poland played some brilliant football in the WC 2002 qualification (with Oli scoring 8 goals), Jerzy Engel got the absolute best out of the team and I don´t think I´ve ever seen as many players so massively overachieve. Then before the world cup in 2002 there were a lot of off-field problems and Boniek (the vice president of the Polish FA at the time) wanted to have a hand in everything and some say he was picking the team behind the scenes. Poland crashed out of the group stage after losing their first two games and in the aftermatch Engel was controversialy sacked by the FA and none other than Boniek took over, turned out Boniek was clueless as a manager and resigned with shame after only 5 games. A lot of people lost their respect for Boniek after that fiasco, including myself.
  2. Luiz with a nice run on the flank, bombs it into a Fulham defender and as the ball is bouncing behind the goal for a corner kick Luiz lunges at it and bicycle kicks the ball into the box onto the head of Kalou who heads wide. What a play

    Ronaldo

Kenny D is good enough to be in the top tier. Shoutout to Kazimierz Deyna, Grzegorz Lato and Włodzimierz Lubański. Because of the communism regime Polish players weren´t allowed to move abroad until they reached the age of 30 so none of our players got the recognition they truly deserved. Deyna and Lato basically carried a very average side to two world cup bronze medals in 74 and 82 (Lato even managing to pick up the golden boot in 74), only a 1-0 loss in very dubious circumstances against the home team Germany in 74 prevented them from reaching the finals. Deyna was a central midfielder and Lato a winger, still their goal scoring record was phenomenal. Deyna scoring 41 in 97 and Lato 45 in 100 for the national side.
  4. Does the pope shit in the woods? And does the Pope crap on the broken lives and dreams of 200 deaf boys?
  5. Can´t believe I was gutted missing out on Kris Boyd, 6 goals in 28 games for Boro
  6. Good performance, feeling optimistic about the next 5 games which are all winnable. Jonas has zero end product, might as well shift him into the left back and move Enirque further up the pitch based on what I´ve seen today.

Man, supporting Newcastle... like supporting Poland during WW2.

    Shefki Kuqi

"He's match fit and knows the English game well having been in the country for the best part of ten years. He is ready straight away and that's what we wanted. "Shefki is a good, honest pro who will give us a strong physical presence from the bench." Key words being from the bench.
  10. One thing's for sure, I won't think he's overreacting when describing Poland anymore. When they went ahead they stayed back like fuck, and it literally felt like this is what went through their mind: "Get the ball, get the ball, get the ball. KICK IT THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. Get the ball, get the ball. KICK IT THE FUCK OUTTA HERE." I only watched the game with the other eye tbh. Quite suprised we managed to keep a clean sheet (first one in 8 games). The game had little going for it in terms of quality, a decent goal from Lewandowski that your keeper should probably have kept out and some smart stops from Szczęsny in a very very forgetable game. Hate those friendlies played at a neutral ground, zero atmosphere and none of the players seemed bothered. Still shocked at Norway being ranked 11th on the FIFA ranking list, they haven´t even qualified for the last two world cups or the last two euros so how does that add up?
  11. What a shite game, played in Portugal in front of a crowd of 50 (all of which are Polish drunks by the sound of it). Wouldn´t mind a win though, Norway are 11th on the FIFA world ranking list after all.
  12. not heard of him so had a look at Wiki. Can play right wing and as a forward according to that but he's 30 this year. Have you seen him play before? He´s as much of a winger as Lovenkrands is tbh (can play there in emergency situations but you´d much rather see him upfront). Haven´t watched any full Auxerre games with him, but I always look up his goals/highlights and watch him play for the national team. He´s a pacey striker that makes some good runs and is generally a solid finisher. He seems to score a lot from counter attacks so I don´t really know if he´d fit us as I can´t remember us scoring many on the counter. Also he doesn´t want to sign a new contract because he isn´t happy about the wages being offered to him, still if we´d get him on a free I recokon he´d be a bargain.
  13. If I was him I wouldn´t sign anything until I saw 30m+ spent in the summer.
  14. Ireneusz Jeleń 32 goals in his last 64 games for Auxerre. Contract runs out in the summer and it doesn´t look like he´ll renew it.
  15. 1. Carroll 2. Barton 3. Tiote 4. Colo for me
  16. Ah they are showing a replay of the match, can´t wait to watch the second half again
  17. What a shite game and a shite ending to a crazy weeekend of football. Oh well, at least there is a lamb leg for dinner so the day ain´t totally wasted.
  18. Roberto Di Matteo - Stay or sack him? Stay -75 (55.1%) Sack -61 (44.9%) Total Voters: 136 http://www.westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=69044.0 Discussion about it here
  19. Anyone know some WBA fans? What do they think about this?
  20. The 35m we got for Carroll will look silly once we lose 40m from getting relegated
