  1. I hate how they build of these "Battles of Britain". Rangers are a ridiculously limited team that has a tiny amount of talent. The likes of Bursaspor and Copenhagen are far superior. I look forward to the shock when they finish last in their group.

    Hahaha

I don't need some johnny foreigner telling me a local boy playing for his local club living his dream is going to fuk off at the first opportunity to anyone flying higher than us, its pure and utter bollocks. Spurs could be out of the CL by the time anyone can move and will probably never see CL football again reducing them to a Euro cup club and where we could easily be in 2-3 years. I'm seeing this from a Geordie point of view and when it's about a situation like this it does fuking matter, sorry if the foreign contingent find that hard to swallow, but if you don't understand that then you don't understand why he'd want to stay, because scoring a goal in a No9 B&W shirt is worth a 1,000 goals for a team like Manu and 1,000,000 goals for a team of the moment club like Spurs. The Johnny Foreigner nonsense is just uncalled for. You a Geordie from Newcastle and you have the right to your opinion. I am a Yoruba from Ondo State and I have the right to my opinion. Don't dismiss what I am saying because you were born and raised a bit closer to SJP. You see I think most footballers act mostly act rationally and not out of blind love for clubs and entities. Tottenham are in a much better position right now. This career lasts 10-15 years at most. Most players want to get paid as much as possible and win as much as possible. It would be special to achieve this with your boyhood team, but if they aren't up to it, you leave. Right, I don't usually get nasty on this forum, but you can go f*** yourself, really. I don't know why have turned a small paragraph response about Andy Carroll into a personal attack on me, but I would appreciate it you stopped. My "internet persona" thinks you are being a bit ridiculous. Doctor Zaius, I would leave if I thought I could accomplish things at the new club that I could not accomplish at the old one. Your boyhood club is always going to be that, but business is business.

Newcastle is brilliant, I'm sure, but you are really, really going to have to do better than that in explaining to me why someone would be unwilling to leave a place that they love to improve their careers. I'd also like to know why this phenomenon is restricted to Newcastle, when countless players leave the "club that love" every bloody transfer window. I'm sure the local fans feel the same way you do, but it doesn't seem to make a damn of difference. Honestly, the only was you can know what it's like to be Andy Carroll is to actually be Andy Carroll. You are not inside the man's head.
  4. in all my years playing competitive sport i never went after a ref the way man utd players did and its strange how the accept the refs decision in other sports. Maybe we are watching different sports, but I don't see anything worse in football than any of the other sports I watch and/or play. I don't football much any more as its not my best game, but when I play my other sports there are often fights and arguments. Referees are often question. It is not reprehensible. It is a result of the high pressure environment. You mustn't watch rugby or cricket then. I don't. They were not exactly big sports when I was growing up. Rugby is nonexistant and cricket is only really played in school and by old people who remember when we were a colony.

I don't see why not. Tottenham are just a better club than Newcastle at this point in time. Better financial position, better on pitch results, better players, better manager, European exposure, and more prestigious. It's an uprward move for a football. I don't think the boys up top will be interested in letting things proceed that far, though. He's a Geordie playing for the club he loves, 1st name on the team sheet and fast becoming a hero to the only fans that will ever matter to him at club level as well as being given the legendary No9 shirt. Not to mention all his friends and family are here as well as his kid. I think you lack basic understanding what it means to him being here and playing for Newcastle and I doubt you will ever fully grasp it either. Man, nonsense. Please take that condescending rubbish elsewhere. Footballers leave their boyhood clubs for greener pastures all of the time. What makes Carroll different from all of these other players? Shearer was here during a different era for the club as well. He came in his mid twenties and the team immediately challenged for the title. When he was nearing the end of his prime (early 30's), the team were in the Champions League. By the time our decline had really set in, the man was nearing retirement. We are not a competitive club right now. If the club's progression doesn't follow the upward trajectory of Carroll's career, he will leave. All of them will. You see it again and again with clubs and their young local players. What exactly makes Newcastle different?

  7. People who act like it is some horrible disgrace that footballers sometimes become angry with one another. You'd think it was some horrible crime when footballers argue, push each other, have small fights, or question the referees. These people must have never played sport at any point in their lives. It's competitve and emotional. The things that happen on the pitch are no worse than what happens at the gym or the training pitch every day in your local area.

Six million for a young English talent who shined with the youth national teams? Triple that and we'll open negotiations. Otherwise, Tottenham can lose our number. I'm not even one of Andy's biggest supporters, but he's clearly a very valuable part of the team.
  10. Versatlie player who looks comfortable in central midfield or defence. Le Guen played him at right back for Cameroon, but I got the distinct impression the Frenchman had no clue what he doing. He's a great destroyer, but his passing is nowhere near the other top players in his position. M'bia the player is better is better than anything we have/had in defensive midfield or defence, imo, but M'bia the person is a cancer. He threw a fit to get Rennes to sell him to us last summer, and was "injured" until the end of the current transfer window angling for a move and/or payrise.
  11. Brandao is an idiot! The ball was flying over their heads to Gignac and he throw Hannson to the ground for no particular reason. Why would you even give the referee something to blow for?! Inch perfect cross from Taiwo, Gignac's first goal for the club, a massive win, and olliemort's bets all ruined.
  12. Wow. Mbia mistake let Park make it 2-1 Monaco, and then OM respond within a minute. 2-2. We have to go and win this now. One thing I'll say for Azpilicuetanis that he's the Spanish Rory Delap.
  13. Gignac is awful. I cannot believe management spent 16 million euros for this. Between him and Azpilicueta, they've spent 25 million on players who have awful thus far.
  14. Deschamps disliked Ben Arfa (feelings were mutual tbf). Kone isn't anything special, and Niang wanted out for his big money Turkey move. The rightback situation baffled me as well. I think Azpilicueta will be a good player for us, but as you said, a 21 year with little experience is the only natural right back for the champions.
  15. Is Bonnart still without a club? Yeah, he's still available. It seemed weird to me that OM released him and weird that he is still available as he's been linked with a number of clubs in England and France. The latest news was that he should be signing with Monaco within the week, but he's still officially a free agent.
  16. We should have brought in Laurent Bonnart for free or tried to get Onuoha on loan. Perch should be nothing more than a utility back up at this level.
  17. Routledge and/or Jonas will look much better with a competent central midfielder other than Barton (Tiote/Guthrie/Gosling) and HBA on the other side.
  18. It was their first match with the club. That's customary. It's leaving there for 70 minutes which is criminal.
  19. Parker is easily one of the dirtiest players in the Premiership. Runs around fouling players all day, yet rarely gets punished.
  20. Ramires looks poor, tbh. He runs around all day, but he's lightweight and doesn't look like he really has ability to pick a pass or shoot. Nowhere near as intimidating as Essien or classy as Obi. He'll see a lot of bench.
  21. Chris is playing some kind of joke leaving HBA on the bench. The boy was in fantastic form before he decided to stop playing for OM. He can change everything. edit: stream delay. Here it comes.
  22. Has it ever even happened before? Derby. Wake the f*** up, it was 2-2. The didn't get relegated that season, but Hull were insanely awful and wore ghastly orange.
