  1. You could see this coming miles away. Time to put Ben Arfa and "the satisfactory reserve striker we should have signed" on the pitch. We have to win this! Draw will do nothing.
  2. I just saw they have Grandin. He's a half decent player. I guess we should watch him. We have to win this game, ffs.
  3. Goodness, man. Honestly though that midfield three is ridiculously physical. edit: I'm sure they have black people in Brazil.
  4. They have their own problems to worry about. They have West Ham today, so that means there is a 90 percent chance Scott Parker will try to kill one of their players on television.
  5. There are few things better in football than watching Man U fail. What a horrible club.
  6. Any reason HBA has 37? He'll look like some random academy product. This is the kind of match we need to be winning. That Blackpool side is atrocious.
  7. I know Yakubu has fallen out with Moyes, but it's ridiculous he didn't start. He can put the ball in the net and that's what the team needed.
  8. Why'd you have to capitalise that, man. I'm just amazed that they've conned the whole FA like this. 90% of their teams plays in Europe and specifically France. It's not a mystery team like Seychelles or something. You could look up their photos on the internet ffs. Tbf though, the actual Togolese team is beyond awful, so 3-0 to Bahrain isn't surprising to me anyway. Also, how did the organisers expect to get away with this. Surely they knew Bahrain could find out with a simple phone call.
  9. That's Sholawang. Seriously though, scary stuff. Think where he'd be on that list if he hadn't been injury every other week for the past 10 years as well, he'd be up there with the Shearer's, Milburns, Supermac's, would be around 100 goals.... Imagine where he would be if the club continued its upward progression and we were able to free ourselves of this useless players years ago. Happy that Geordie Naija man has made a success of himself. Angered that he is still at the club after all these years of frustration.
  10. The amount of talent and depth that France possess is ridiculous. With a good manager and a squad that is together, they are as good as anyone in the world.
  11. They're moving sideways while the teams around them are moving forward. I don't see how they finish above 8th or 9th for the foreseeable future. The momentum of the league is not in their favour.
  12. I understand the desire to move to a top league, but Everton do not strike me as a club on the up. What is he going to accomplish there that he wouldn't in Eindhoven? Would be a lateral move at best. Only reason to come would be financial and they don't pay like other tbig clubs.
  13. Alright dude, anyone who American who knows enough about soccerball doesn't speak like that. Except for "Upper 90," everyone says that, hate that s***. Tbh, I coach middle school soccer/ football over here and I find myself constantly having to rephrase my positional instructions. They don't know what a winger is. You have to say right or left midfielder. You have players from West Africa, South America, Central Europe, etc. You have managers from all over the European continent. These people grew up speaking a plethora of different languages who have had to learn English, are in the process of learning it, or can't speak the language. It really is baffling to me that you think there would be a problem because the Americans speak a slightly different dialect. Americans shouldn't commentate the sport, though. Ever.
  14. As far as the minister, the Newcastle point is really not that serious. He is essentially saying that bad things happen in matches in England just as they happen in Russia. Which I suppose is true. England does have it's fair share of problems. such as that person who was killed by the flying bin last year. However, I don't think coordinated racism is exactly comparable to a bit of drunken mischief. Also, if you ask the Russian, the banner directed at Osaze Odemwingie wasn't racism at all! I don't have time to find the quotes, but they were saying the racist connotations are coincidental as in Russia the student slang for failing a test is a banana. I suppose they believe the Nigerian failed his test.
  15. I think I'm fair and objective, but that's subjective I suppose. At least you are basing it on past opinion, I thought you were just trying to dismiss everything I said because of my ethnicity. That doesn't make you an idiot, just someone with a foolish opinion.
  16. 26 goals in 92 games in Italy and 14 goals in 47 games in France, hardly proved himself to be a good striker in either league. It's not all about statistics, ffs. blah blah blah How many full games have you seen him play? that doesnt matter. hes african so hes mint I don't want to get banned and will not insult you directly, but I am disappointed by this poist. You try to have a discussion about football and receive idiocy in return.
  17. Looks like a sprained ankle in the photo. Which would be good for Arsenal as sprains are incredibly painful right after they occur, but can be rectified in weeks instead of months. The situation worsens if a ligament has been torn though.
  18. Turkey's international record is ridiculous. 3rd in 2002 World Cup. Failure to qualify for 2004 Euros and 2006 World Cup. 3rd in 2008 Euros. Failure to qualify for 2010 World Cup. They are a fun team to have around. I hope they make it this time.
  19. Ligue 1 is quite fast and physical. Much more so than Spain. Several players from Spain, Portugal, etc actually have trouble adjusting to this league. I think the adjustment will be a fair bit easier. Also, OM under Deschamps were a team that focused on physical attributes and played a strong quick style.
  20. 26 goals in 92 games in Italy and 14 goals in 47 games in France, hardly proved himself to be a good striker in either league. It's not all about statistics, ffs. blah blah blah How many full games have you seen him play? I've seen him play many times internationally and at club level. Kezman you are right in a sense. Gyan isn't worth 13 million and Muntari can't start for a club like Inter, but they both have been consistently good players thoughout their careers. it is not their fault that foolish clubs heap so much pressure on them. Gyan was verygood for Rennes last year btw. Combining that with his exploits with the Black Queens he had a fantastic 09-10.
  21. The self importance and aeeogance in Dave's argument is striking. You can definitely tell he comes from a"big" European nation. No different than those calling for a European super league among Europe's "big" clubs. Every country should be given an equal chance to qualify and every nation should have to prove itself over a qualifying campaign. No one has a birth right. Hell, some of these nations will cherish it for years if they can knock one goal at Wenbley. Hunour them. Edit: arguing with sicko actually. Dave has a fair point and one I can sympathise with after watching Nigeria bs its way in tocompetitions.
  22. 26 goals in 92 games in Italy and 14 goals in 47 games in France, hardly proved himself to be a good striker in either league. It's not all about statistics, ffs. Unlike you, I've actually seen him play throughout this period of time. He impressed with Udinese before his injury and litany of clubs were after him. Rennes paid a lot for him and last year was probably the best of his career with him being near the top of scoring charts for most of the season. His pace, power, and skill have made him a dangerous and useful player in every stage of his career. I actually hate the guy, but he's a fine player. He's not worth 13 million pounds, but that's what happens when you buy a World Cup star on deadline day. I'm excited about Carroll, but he's not proven anything. Plenty of players have looked good at 21 or in their first matches in the Premiership. Let us give him time to develop before anointing him to some sort of deity.
