Dunga's Brazil would have had him, in my opinion. Of course I don't watch him as often as a Spurs supporter but he impressed me in the midfield destroyer role last season. He can't pass a football.

There's a difference between playing for a competitive nation with many good players (West African teams, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, etc.) and playing for teams with little chance of any success like Weah with Liberia.

To be fair, a limited player like Palacios would be nowhere near Brazil's team. Sandro's probably only there because he's yute anyway.

You can't really consider the top African, Asian, and North American teams to be "small" nations when they have players throughout all of the top leagues and are consistently in big tournaments. Especially in the current, I would hardly consider Hungary to be better than these teams.

Carroll did pretty well last year in an inferior league and is in good form right now, but Gyan has proven himself a good player in two top leagues and on several occasions internationally.

Your not depriving them of anything, clubs can still sign players and contracts signed, its the registration that is late. i.e the transfer can go through anytime but the player won;t be registered and cannot play until the next window. As long as Spurs were in the process of completing the deal before the deadline hit, I'm perfectly fine with the deal going through. The transfer window should be a rough outline of when players can switch clubs. We should not be depriving Real Madrid of eight million pounds because Tottenham's paperwork arrived a bit late.

I can't see Spurs surviving with Keane up front in that formation. VDV signing is more incentive for him to leave, imo. Modric can play on the left, right? If he can than 4-2-3-1 with Huddlestone and Palacios holding, Lennon, VDV, and Modric as the 3 AMs, and "the striker you should have signed" upfront would be the ideal team.

Forster is quite ugly imo, and our two new signings HBA and Cheick will both do well with women in the area.

If Spurs did get VDV, I'm not even sure who he would displace from their team, though I do think this would be the definitive end of Jenas.

PL football does not suit many players in there late 30s'. He's turns thirty next week and has had a bad time with injuries last year after years of service. But yeah he's Nigerian, so he's fallen off because he's really 86
