  1. Jerome Rothen admits he has been a "failure" at Rangers Wantaway Rangers winger Jerome Rothen admits he has been a "failure'' in Scotland. Rothen moved to Glasgow on a season-long loan deal from Paris St Germain but has played just a handful of games for Walter Smith's men. The 31-year-old is under contract until June but has been told by the club he can leave this month. "I have to recognise that my stay in Scotland is a failure,'' Rothen told L'Equipe. "I have not played since October 20 and Rangers' defeat against Unirea Urziceni. "However, I was elected as my team's best player by the supporters that night. So I asked for a talk with the coach, Walter Smith, to ask him what was happening. He told me that the best solution was for me to leave in the transfer window.'' Rothen, who has ruled out a return to PSG, insists he is baffled as to why he is so rarely considered by Smith. Newcastle are reportedly after the former France international and he claims he would be willing to take a pay cut to end his Rangers' nightmare. "I played eight matches in Rangers' colours this season,'' Rothen continued. "I was voted man of the match three times, always playing on the right, never in my own position. "Rangers have 35 million euro debts and have to economise. The first would be to save themselves from paying six months of my salary. I have contacts but until something is signed... "At the moment I only want an interesting sporting challenge. I have so much desire to play, to shine. I am only 31 and I am fresh in my head. I've heard it said that I will create financial problems. That's false. I'm ready to make certain concessions.'' --------- hmmm.......
  2. Do you not think you should be aiming a bit higher than Bendtner? I'm just asking, I haven't seen as much of him as you will have but I've never thought of him as Arsenalworthy. Do correct me if I'm wrong. He's just about worthy of a team that hasn't won anything in this decade.
  3. It will always be the Premiership to me. Premier League just sounds arrogant and stupid.
  4. How much snow is hitting the area anyway. Doesn't look too bad on television.
  5. You'd think Spurs would be happy with their strikers. Then again, you'd think that every window, but they keep the roundabout moving upfront every year.
  6. This whole ordeal just about fits the recent events around the club. Nothing is ever simple, and rarely is the path clear. Finally the club have agreed a fee for a player whose departure will not negatively affect us, but alas, things have managed to go wrong. It would be interesting if Geremi went to this club as they are the fierce rivals of Geremi's youth club who are their Ankara neighbors. Wonder how the atmosphere would be for him at that derby.
  7. I rather enjoyed that. He's decent! The girl singer is quite attractive as well. Overall, it was a gratifying experience. His career might be Ngoing somewhere. You never know.
  8. World Cup year, innit? Can't afford to not be playing, even with his profile in Cameroon. Yup, pretty much what it comes down too. Have to say it is insanity that Nigeria and Cameroon will carry Geremi and Kanu to the World Cup (However much I like them both). Geremi was done when we signed him, and I'm estatic we've forund a buyer. Let's get some decent players in now.
  9. Song looks like he's going to be a hell of a player. Song and Diaby are too messy for the defensive roles they take in Arsenal's system. They're both good players but there is definitely room for improvement. That Arsenal midfield still seems too porous to me.
  10. Joey Barton, Lee McCormick, Lee Hughes, Godwin Okpara, and O.J. Simpson should get together and start a coalition to eradicate this bad behavior from players lives off the pitch.
  11. It's hard to say that it's "good times" considering the precarious long term position this club finds itself in, but there is definitely a positive vibe at the moment. Ten points above third now. This is an ideal time to seperate ourselves further as it provides incentive for us to bring in PL quality players in the next month.
  12. Mancini has accomplished nothing, imo. Bad manager. His first "title" comes in 2006 when Inter are about 20 points behind Juve but win title in court due to scandal. They walked the next one against a vastly inferior Serie A. In 2008, his team made a meal of a simple Serie A (taken to the last day by a nothing Roma team) and are soundly beaten in the Champions League. He begins moaning after this and is sacked in the summer for being rubbish. Good luck Man City.
  13. Everton are thorugh, BATE cannot get through. Unless you put money on it, there is absolutely nothing at stake. Wolves shouldn't be punished, but their actions are disgraceful. Wenger is right, it is not fair to the other teams in the league when clubs are purposely falling over and dying. Chelsea played the bottom team last night and were made to work hard. I suppose Wolves couldn't have done the same? Very unfair, imo.
  14. Toure isn't a world class defender and he never was. Watching Amr Zaki use Toure as his concubine at Ghana 2008 only further confirmed this for me. Overrated, mistake prone player.
  15. Chelsea are having ridiculous luck of late
  16. Love the defeatist attitude of teams in the "BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!!!" (as the commentators keep telling me)
  17. It is quite sad that this shallow midget of a man would really prevent you from enjoying a World Cup victory.
  18. He's playing better in a decent team. Doesn't mean he's a great player and doesn't mean we shouldn't have sold him for 12 million pounds when we had the chance.
  19. Is Wilshere that far of a drop off of Rossi on loan? We might actually use him as well.
  20. We've dropped tow points in the last eight matches, man! Check the Premiership table and tell me which side has bettered that record in their last eight games.
  21. The though of Pulis-ball at my club is sickening, tbh.
  22. Chamakh scores to make it Bordeaux 1 Lyon 0 in the 85th. Massive goal.
