  1. fsdfsdfdsfds The next NUFC star. (Not Ribery, the one next to him) Definitely worth a shot. Can never have too many potentially good young players.
  2. Being an athlete isn't a talent though, anyone can achieve physical fitness through hard work. As Ronaldo says, he just couldn't be arsed. That's nonsense. Genetics plays a massive part. Some folks just have much more potential for muscle and speed than others. Sure someone like Viduka was lazy, but regardless of how hard he worked there was no way he would ever be as fit as someone like Martins.
  3. I don't care about England really, but if I had to choose four fullbacks: Cole-------Johnson Baines------Richards Especially considering you are playing Algeria and Slovenia in the group stage, I would definitely take the more physical players as they can't really deal with them.
  4. That isnt Samuel Okunowo is it? I've got a relative who was involved in football and I remember him telling me about this lad. He watched him at some kind of youth tournament of some sort and he tells me to this day he remains the best 14/15/16 (not sure how old) year old footballer he has ever ever seen, he was absolutely convinced that this Okunowo fella would go down in history. Still occasionally mentions him, he said he was just stood there in absolute awe at this young lad and how amazing he was. He said he was tempted to remain another day where this tournament was being staged just to watch this kid. It's quite bizzare how a player of such immense talent can go backwards. Looking at his wiki after bouncing around many different european clubs to little success he's now 30 year old and playing for Waltham forest in the 8th tier of English football, almost quite sad really. Did anything happen to him, such as an injury being the reason his career went pear shaped, im genuinely interested to know a little bit more about him now? That's him, yes. Was a brilliant player for Ibadan Shooting Stars when he was younger in the 90's. He was originally an attacking right midfield player. When he went to Barca, the manager tried to convert him to RB or central defender with little success. IT never really worked for him at Barca. While at Barca, he had some sort of serious knee injury and ended up needing reconstructive surgery. That was it. He was never the same player.
  5. Alvaro Recoba. Tijani Babangida. Gbenga Okunowo.
  6. The right decision was made. Enforce the rules for everyone or don't enforce them at all. Same as with that nonsensical Eduardo diving ban.
  7. How about Arshavin? You look at him and wonder how his career might've went if he transfers to Arsenal at 18-21 instead of when he did. Amazing that 99% of football fans didn't know of him until less than 2 years ago.
  8. The likes of Barton, Martins, and Chopra have far too much career left to say they've wasted it.
  9. I've seen you put Oba in the OP. First rule of black hair is that when we get perms it makes the hair straight. Prime example of an African perm would be Drogba.
  10. Good, solid player. Not Barca quality but is an all-round midfielder with a real will. Scored a pretty crucial own goal for Montpellier at the weekend, though.
  11. Duff has played 20 games this season, and he was one of our lesser players.
  12. They are no better than we were last season. They aren't in a state a chaos as we were. Talent-wise, they are inferior though.
  13. I have Leeds in my heart. Especially as we're down, now. It gives you perspective. I hope they are playing us in the Premiership very soon. Not to mention they also employed Tony Yeboah, one of my favorites when I was young and a Ghanaian I couldn't help but like.
  14. Shearer was a brilliant player and is a good man. However, there has never been ANY indication that he is even a decent manager. Pele wasn't a manager and Maradona isn't a good one thus far. These players are both superior to Shearer. I'm unhappy that we don't have a high quality manager right now, but I have no problem with a person with no experience not being given the job.
  15. Wow. 18? He would have had her very young, then. It really is pity that another beautiful young life has been wasted. You just wonder what could have driven her to this. Condolences to the family.
  16. For all this ludicrous talk of "black power", not one person of African descent won a weightlifting medal in the last Olympics.
  17. I don't believe in gambling. However my tip would be to place money on Portsmouth to stay up. This will happen.
  18. He's a decent player. I don't dispute that. Just not a great goalscorer. He never has been, either. It would be a mistake to sign him thinking he will score at a high rate.

    New Players

Routledge. NUFC can now put out a balanced side for the first time this decade.
  20. Benjani is rubbish. Hasn't managed to consistently score goals in Switzerland, France, or England. Wouldn't do it in the Championship either.
  21. Matches like this are why the Premiership is the best league in the world.
  22. Seems as though these Egyptians always fail to settle in Europe. Will be interesting to see if this one can break the trend.
  23. This works out very well for everyone if Sapara goes and has a nice World Cup. Teams in Europe will ask the same question you are. "Why is the player playing in Turkey?" Then the Ankara club will mug some club into paying alot for him and Marek will finally have his big move.
  24. Swapping Keane for Gudjohnsen?? Ambitious.
  25. Mears would be a good signing for them if they actually do get him, anyway. Seemed quite decent when he played for us last year, which was rare tbf.
