That’s soft but silly

Can’t take the font used on Arsenals shirts seriously.

All the fans from other clubs falling over themselves laughing at this need to realise what has actually happened here. If you’re not in the top 6 you never will be and you’ll be stopped from ever attempting to join them. The top 6 will be allowed to strengthen their position from here, will want a greater share of tv money and the other clubs will basically become the side show for them to beat in front of the worldwide tv audience who will only support a top 6 club. We may as well play the games in the Colosseum and accept our fate.

There’s no way the PL will now wave this through. Why would they, if they do say anything it’ll be either that the buyers have pulled out or that the test hasn’t been completed. The consortium may be hoping for a change of heart before they formally tell the PL of their decision but it’ll come. The PL has shown where their loyalty lies. It should bring into sharp focus that the top echelon of the PL is a closed shop if there’s any sign of a threat. Pity they can’t trot off and start a non relegation European Super League so we can try and enjoy, may be even compete, in the league again.

Who do you mean by "they've"? Assuming for some reason you are blaming PIF - If you were part of an investment fund, who's main objective is to create value, would you set aside several hundred million pounds for an unlimited time in the hope that you would get approval to buy a football club at "some point, or maybe not at all", or would you want eventually suggest maybe the money is better to be spent elsewhere? Well yeah, perhaps they realised they weren’t going to be able to satisfy the PL questions and wanted to save face when pulling out. I’ll be amazed if another deal is in the offing and the PL giving “indicative” approval is meaningless and if given would be indicative on some things being clarified and ratified. We’ve been shafted and the test became something other than what is written down but the Saudis aren’t ever going to say they pulled out because MBS wasn’t considered fit and proper. Personally I don’t believe that either Ashley or the consortium are (intentionally) responsible for the failure.

PIF have been investing left right and centre during Covid, they’ve invested in Carnival Cruise ffs and Disney. The statement about financial uncertainty caused by Covid and about when the season will start, training etc is bollocks. That’s a face saving statement. This acquisition was part of their 2030 vision. I feel they’ve made a bollocks of this. Watch them buy Roma now.

Greatest day ever, was never going to happen, we’ll be in the same league after next season, delusional as usual etc

I don’t get the uncertainty angle as one of the reasons for pulling the deal. Crowds will come back, fans would be falling over themselves once they were allowed back in, ticket sales are small beer in terms of revenue, the popularity of the PL will be unaffected by Covid and global exposure of the PL will only grow. Opportunity to develop regions will be huge post Covid, the economy needs the boost and I’d expect Govt incentives. We’re missing something here, given that the money the Saudis have and that they were going to be in for the long term so could ride the current effects of Covid I’m kind of leaning towards the belief that they couldn’t satisfy the tests. Guess we’ll get a better clue if a new deal with someone else quickly comes to the fore. As much as he’s a twat it doesn’t look like Ashley is at fault here; if he gets a better deal he’ll be delighted if there’s no other deal £17M isn’t the outcome he’d want.

Ashley wants out, if he can get £17M for this to fall through with a better offer in the wings I’d expect him to let time waster rumours get out or something to that effect. Ashley has way more important business interests than NUFC at the moment, he wants money and he has completely washed his hands of day to day running of the club or putting money into the club. This is Ashley’s big chance to take the money and run, he’ll not do anything to jeopardise it. The club itself is in complete limbo, there’s still furloughed staff and they’re trying out to manoeuvre some back room staff out to avoid bringing them back.

It’s gone completely off at tangent and is being affected by arguments outside of the current O&D test that the PL have. Do they pass, yes or no, if no, on what grounds and can they change so that they do pass. Piracy seems to be the issue based on that, so where are we?

Full of money or to breath into?
