Ridiculous speed there.

Is that some sort of veiled threat? Truly pathetic if so. You mightn't like my opinions or views, but there's no need for stuff like that. It's a reference to a former mackem poster on here, Wireside, or Masterplan as you may know him. A true cretin. Oh right, well I take it back then. I'm not said person in case that's what you're all thinking. Fair play. How you feeling about your team then? MON's certainly got a feel-good factor going. Where do you see yourselves ending up?

Wireside's vendetta against him is hilarious, constant comparisons to Sessegnon despite not taking into account the games played. Anyway, great for Benny, hopefully he'll get that wide playmaker role for the rest of the season.

Chuffed he scored but even happier to hear he played well in general and created, great for us.
-
Sounds like he's played well, great news for us with the run we've got coming up.
-
He was never so deep for Lille, seems tactical to me.
-
I'd be alright with that but that's just because I think Best will step up to the plate with Ben Arfa behind him, while Ba's at the ACON. We have to strengthen up front in the summer though, I'll be unhappy if it doesn't happen then.

If this comes off, Simpson's as good as gone imo.

I'm not worried about their relationship to be honest, i'm more worried that Pardew lacks the imagination to make best use of him, whether it be as a no. 10 or on the wing.
-
Get help. It's almost if an assist and glorious set up for Tiote isn't enough in a 20 minute cameo. He lost the ball once, the positives from that performance far outweigh the negatives.
-
You're right and I think people are seeing too much in his poor performances. i put his early season performaces as much down to trouble forming a partnership with cabaye I think they still have problems now. Been a very stop start relationship so far. I felt we could see a fair improvement at Swansea though in some of their play. They'd be fine if Cabaye just pushed up a few yards and was more attacking. I don't think he's been playing his natural game here, to be honest, I think he's asked to play deeper than he'd like.

Players absolutely have to move when he's on the ball mind, he gets it and the majority just stand there and watch. Jonas being one of the worst culprits for it. It's a two way thing with Pardew, if he expects him to up his game in that no. 10 role, he's going to have to switch it round a bit tactically too. Good to see him looking so sharp though, looked like his old nimble self on the ball.

Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente
Gallowgate Toon replied to Skirge's topic in Football
Would that have been a better choice? Feel stupid commenting when I didn't watch, but I would imagine Abeid in there would have been a ridiculously deep CM, isn't he used to lying deep? Would be stepping over Tiote's feet I would assume. Not to mention he's just as inexperienced, so naivety would still be a worry. Vuckic was industrious moving forward but he didn't offer enough energy and protection, something that I think Abeid would have done as he's more of a rounded midfielder. I don't think Mehdi's quite as deep as Tiote either, he's more box-to-box than that, so I think they'd have worked well enough. -

While he's a tremendous footballer and a great prospect, I think Abeid was more suited for this one. Good debut but obviously naive at this level. -
Needs to have a bit of a re-think with his tactics at the minute, we're simply not creative enough from open play and are far too narrow too, considering the system we've adopted. Our movement was horrible watching, the way West Brom switched it about at times was unbelievable, compared to our slow and lethargic style.
-
Good sub to bring him on, followed by a shocking one to completely nullify our game. Does Pardew know how to get the best out of him?
-
Some really, really poor tactics from Pardew today. That Shola substitution was the wrong option. When will our managers learn, that at home, to break their defence, you need to have some form of legitimate width to create some space for the players in the middle, it's not rocket science. Where's the passing and moving we were said to have worked on all summer as well? Literally zero movement and just looking to crowd the box and smack it in for our big lads, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Taylor came on, to deliver those 'super accurate' balls for Ba and Shola. We're a far better footballing team than that, that was bad.
