His best position in my opinion, is a central playmaker but the team needs to be completely geared towards him to get the best out of that system and I don't think with the personnel we have, it's what's best for the team. Luckily for us, he's still a very good wide midfielder on either side. I prefer him on the right to be honest, it gives him more options with that glorious left foot. Stick Santon behind him and that's a natural partnership in my opinion, Jonas and Ferguson on the left and that would go a long way to solving our attacking problems. It's certainly what's best for our strikers, they need some more varied service.

Brilliant. What does the subtitle mean? "I've never been like the others"? I will never be like the others.

Apparently there was 11 seconds between Sessegnon's elbow and Tiote hitting the deck...

Should really be winning games like these with our personnel and home advantage but I was chuffed to bits at the time, the idea of losing to the scruffy shits is unbearable and I was proud of the way we fought. We really need to believe in ourselves a lot more, there's a hell of a lot going for the club right now and that should translate onto the pitch, we saw a bit of that in the second half today and it made a big difference. Hopefully Pards takes a lot of faith out of today's second 45, if we're truly serious about sustaining our Euro challenge to the end, we need to be more positive from the off. -
His use of Cabaye (seemingly at least), truly epitomises what I don't like about him, he should be contributing so much more.

Boom. Looked like he'd not played in a while today, I wonder why?
-
As soon as we started to look like contenders to do something, he shat himself and the performances we put in like Blackburn at home and Villa went away for more 'efficient' tactics. But it was simply never sustainable with the way we were playing, it was very short-termist.

Lacks faith in his team.

One of my Liverpool supporting mates still considers Suarez a 'hero'. In the last few weeks I've gone from not caring about them one jot, to despising them. Who do they think they are? That article is a complete shambles as well, get a grip of your life man.

He's one of the stupidest cunts alive. Reading his twitter is almost sickening, self-righteous twat.

Disgusting how the sports journos, personalities and players are all defending him and celebrating his result. That's Wireside for you. One of the most bitter, deluded twats i've ever heard. Ned_werby or whatever his name is as well, honestly, how thick can you be?

Of course he doesnt use it as his only evidence. Pretty sure he watches our games too..... FWIW 'workrate' that is constantly bleated over with regards to HBA is not only defensive. His offensive workrate is also questionable at times imo. Look at Jonas/Ba/Cisse(only one game but) and they are always moving and working for the team looking to not only receive the ball but bring others in too. HBA too often tries to do it alone like he did in France whereas here its more pass and move football working people out of position. This has been one of my main gripes with HBA all season long tbf. He doesn't look to get the ball enough, and that was the main reason he failed at the classic number 10 spot. That's the strangest part of him for me or at least the bit that doesn't add up right now. In his few games last season, he was always showing for it, always looking for it and trying to direct our attacking play. That willingness has been nowehere near as prominent this year though. Perhaps he's been told not to break shape too much and stick to certain areas or maybe he knows his team mates follow the more direct route and doesn't feel like it's worth it? The only time he really did that this year, (by the sounds of it) was Blackburn in the FA Cup.

Errr what? I haven't said Pardew's 'shit'. Most of the time? So in the matches he has played you're saying he should have scored and set up in every one, not just some of the time? You mentioned attacking consistency a la Robert, well there it is, cold hard facts, he produced. He's also set up other chances for players in games (Simpson in thh cup, Ba Man City, Best QPR) and hit the post, all in very limited game time and in his wrong position. The latter is a fair comment to make how can you put it all on him to make it work, when we shift round a whole formation? As for Brighton, who did play well?
-
Aye, he only scored 3 goals and got 2 assists in 6 weeks. He was also our best player against Blackburn in the cup, when played in his best position, right hand side in a 4-4-2. Balanced.
-
Getting tired of the cryptic way he speaks about him. Infuriating that Obertan waltzed back in despite providing less in 15 more games and all for what? This doesn't really send out the right message does it? Yeah, be the most productive player we have in January but if you have a bad game, you're out. I thought our players got games fairly, through form? Seems it's a different rule for one.
-
Quickly becoming my favourite football personality, much prefer his ilk to 'banter' lads like Nolan and Barton. Top striker, top bloke.
-
He would be fine in a 4-4-2 if given more of a chance. The only time we played him in it, he dragged us back into the game and played very well and we won. Yet since then, we've seen a complete formation change to accomodate him, why? It's unfair and very short-termist to expect our striker(s) to perform at such high levels when we don't create a lot for them. We have a midfield that is littered with quality but they don't produce or create enough and that will have to change if we want to stay where we are for more than a season. Ba might score 5 goals less this time next year (if he is here) and where would that leave us? While Cisse looks promising, he's an unknown quantity and might be the type that needs a couple of really clear cut chances to put the ball in the back of the net. Don't be fooled by Freiburg's position, they weren't bad when it came to creating. To put it simply, we're a team of very fine margins right now. Overall it's a frustrating situation to see the likes of Ryan Taylor and Obertan ahead of him, they offer so much less from that position (in my opinion). While I can see the thinking behind it at times, as it is appropriate in certain matches, i'm more from the traditional school of thought, where particularly at home you attack the opposition to win the game, especially if they're not as good a team as you.
