  1. Don't see the point in Cisse at this moment in time, that's most down to my faith that Ba will be excellent for us and can get into a good double figures level. I think we need to go for a slightly different type of forward, to add some depth. Ben Arfa and Ba will be a great partnerhip imo.
  2. Their delusion, denial and downright idiocy is completely baffling. They are STILL saying that their team is competitive on 'paper'.
  3. Or he pre-prepares it, knowing fine well they're going to lose?
  4. That's always been Sessegnon, some nifty foot work but that's it, he was like that at PSG, not producing the goods enough but still 'looked' good. He's already 27, if he'd added some more efficiency to his game then he'd be at a far better club than Sunderland.
  5. They're still crowing about the 'quality' of the team and are just solely blaming Bruce. When will they learn, they've just added 9 players that epitomise mediocrity, to a squad that was already mediocre.
  6. I'd be happy with a point here, they've been a bit enigmatic so far but there's some good players there. 2-2.
  7. It's a little bit silly, saying he will be this player and he will do that. He might not, we haven't really got any basis here to judge him. If people cite his French outings, then that's a much different and complex situation.
  8. Bit harsh on the lad Dave! Must have been a multitude of emotions and thughts going through him when he was on the pitch. In his previous outings for us, he's always been a lot less selfish than i've expected him to be.
  9. Why the fuck are Lowes and Anderson banging on about 20 goal strikers? We're scoring well man.
  10. Apparently the were French film crews at the training centre and he spoke to them only in English. Pretty good stuff, seems to like it here a lot.
  11. Carroll scored most of his goals from set plays, pretty sure Joey only supplied one of his goals with a cross in open play, against West Ham?
  12. About 6 months ago, I checked Spectrum's last posts and activity to see if he was still lurking or anything. Something definitely happened there, just suddenly dropped off the map, wasn't there a person on here saying a guy with a similar name on a City forum had disappeared? Quite eery tbh.
  13. I don't consider him to be like either. He's a very Scholes type midfielder.
  14. I agree with this like, one reason to play him wide is to protect him, but that's a bollocks reason anyway. I think it's narrow-minded, personally. He was outstanding from the left against Everton away, as we all know. Of course he might be even better played centrally, which is a very exciting thought, but to say he "can't play wide" is wrong. There's nothing stopping him starting from a wide position and being given a bit of license to roam, for instance, like Obertan does at the minute. Not really arsed though, as I don't think many expected him to play wide anyway. He's good from out wide, in an open game with some space to roam into. He just clogged up the pitch against Stoke though, who were already defending as a compact unit and they relished us playing too much through the middle. We needed a Marveaux that game, just to open them up a bit with some width and stretch out the defence, create some gaps etc.
  15. Because Ben Arfa's major talents other than his dribbling, are his passing and vision. He'd get a lot of benefit from someone with intelligence and good movement ahead of him. Carroll has neither. With that midfield, you need a man that bases his game on intelligence over physicality.
  16. There's no chance a big club will take him after Liverpool, if he continues to be useless. He'll have to rebuild his career at a smaller club, I can definitely see Stoke in a year or two, they've got the money.
  17. I agree, if we're playing Ben Arfa as a trequartista, then I'd rather he orchestrates things from the edge of the box, while Cabaye and others make runs ahead him.
  18. Strangely enough, i've completely forgotten about him and really don't miss him. He's the one I thought it'd be hardest to 'get over'.
  19. Really like Valencia's team, some great players throughout the squad. Piatti, Banega and Canales can all be a joy to watch.
  20. Do you know where we can watch this action please ? Official site, you'll have to pay i'm afraid. Unless you wait a couple of hours, it's on an English show tonight and will most likely be put through one of the regular sports video sites later on.
  21. Smashing run for the Lovenkrands chance, reminiscent of the one he set up for Carroll against Everton with an equally shit attempt at a finish. Just glided through the middle of the park. You very rarely see a player burst through the middle like that, most wide players are excellent at dribbling in space but get them in tight situations at high speed, they turn to crud. He's so wasted out wide imo, takes a lot of the dager out of his game, really glad Pards sees him as a number 10.
