He is their best player and played every game for them since he returned from his injury.

Eddie Johnson has joined Fulham. Remember reading an article a few years ago in ESPN about how him & Oguchi Onyewu were American soccer next big things . Eddie cant be as bad as Gooch.....can he?
All i know of Eddie Johnson is that he is dead quick.

Best time to play the Arse, they should be a little rattled after their thrashing.
-
Wouldn't mind Essien on my side like, Alex and Faye too.
-
Why does it need to be a choice of 1 or the other? I'll have both ta.
Martins is fast and explosive and call pull something out of the hat no one else on our team can.
Owen is still a classy in the box finisher and the more quality players we bring in the more it will improve Owen's game.
This. I don't understand the constant choice between these 2, its better for the team to keep both.

Won't sign, has no Prem experience and that is what KK wants.
-
I wasn't surprised with a draw tbh. Keegan has only really taken one training session so he can't implement his philosophy to the players yet. But you could see he changed one thing using CB's as the extra man going forward forcing Bolton deeper but offering another option and surrounding the box. He needs more time and his own team before the Entertainers are back.

Bentley please but away from the Prem Nasri

Given: 7 - Did nothing wrong, great save in the end.
Enrique: 6 - Looked pretty solid, perhaps some problem with the tempo.
Cacapa / Taylor: 6 - Not that much to do, didnt really do anything special, good or bad.
Carr: 5.5 - Tried and actually looked like something similar to an athlet. No quality though
Rozenhal: 6 - See some people think he was pretty good. Think he was part of the problem, no creativity and no real tempo.
Zoggy: 6.5 - Tried to get stuff going, hopefully a good cm in the making.
Duff: 6 - Not as bad today as some would say.
Milner: 5.5 - Not much space to work in, didnt do enough though.
Owen: 4.5 - Was he playing?
Ameobi: Dont know how to rate him, looked like a donkey but was involved. Playing a lone striker against that wall of Bolton defenders cant be easy.
Taylor?

Martins, offers far more to the team then Owen does, top prem strikers nowadays cant just get away with just being goalscrorers. Martins will scare defenders with his pace and style, alot more than Owen will nowadays.
Sorry but that's just not true. How does Martins offer far more? Neither the stats nor watching both play back that up. They both offer about the same - i.e. about 10-15 league goals a season.
Martins is constantly looking for the ball, his natural game mean he goes after the ball and battles for it, they say defences starts from the front and he is constantly putting players under pressure, not only that but he also gets the ball in deep and runs, his major problem is that he isnt inteligent with possession adn is very slow to release the balla t right times. Which leads him to lose the ball at times (which he goes back to get again) or play the wrong ball.
Owens on the other hand is invisible when we dont have the ball in attacking areas, he rarely battles for hte ball and doesnt come deep for the bal (righlty) becasue that isnt his game, he is primarily a finisher and that is it, his link up play is ok, but again that isnt really part of his game.
For me, Owen has only one strength to his game which is finishing, Martins has alot more, but none of them are refined. The fact that despite this he's still good for 10-15 goals puts him ahead for me.
Martins doesn't graft a lot for me. This defending from the front thing isn't something he does. It seems to be a myth which people put around though.
As much of a myth that Owen is such a great finisher tbh
Better finisher than Martins imo.
I agree

Martins did get 2nd highest assists for us last season though so you can't say he doesn't contribute anything. I think Martins has 3/4 assists this season so far aswell doesn't he?
-
Martins when high on confidence is the easy winner for me as he looks a fantastic striker on top form. Its all about him getting the confidence first though.
-
Owen's legs have gone get him out for what we can in my opinion. Whilst he is still 'fit'.
Martins is the future, there is a reason Wenger has been interested in the guy and the Inter fans were so sorry to see him leave
Martins to Arsenal was newspaper 2+2=5 imo. Were Inter fans really that sorry to see him leave? They have far better players than he'll ever be there now.
Because he was very effective at Inter. In a league where Pace is relatively scarce Martins tore past defenders very easily. His goal scoring record was very good when you consider how many times he was just a substitute for them.

I truely believe we have quality, but no the right balance.
strikers:
Owen-will come good if given service and will become better with confidence( Strong Character Dont rely only on speed)
Martins- Omg he would be a keeper if only he learns off the ball awareness and some dribbling skills( could see him flourishing under KK)
Viduka- Veteran Enuff said
Alan smith- NOT A MIDFIELDER and none goal scoring striker ( Needs Shearers to give him coaching lessons as we wnt him to stay.
Bambi- HMMmMmmmM difficult call But i would sell him.
Defenders:
Carr: Sell the son of a bitch, still would be a clown like bramble on his day.
Beye: Looks quality so far
Cacapa: Whoever that thinks we should sell him should have his head examine. Gives so much experience to the younger generations.
Faye: Typical no nonsense type of defender Keeper
Talyor: Omg he still needs alot of experience, really hope some one take him under their wings.
Rozehnal: Has qualities that could make him a very good CB
Enrique: Breadth of fresh air tbh. Best passer of the ball at the club with a certain level of awareness. Only 21 omg we found ourselves another gem.( what he has is what zoggy SERIOUSLY LACK)
*Attacking/Dribbling Midfielders:
Milner: Dribbler and crosser. Slow reaction sometimes. However Promising when given space.
Zogbia: Dribbler and crosser. Bad awareness , stick him on the wing .
Duff: If used the right way could be 80% as effective as he was at chelsea and that hell better den milner and zogbia.
Emre: A player that needs a bit of space but if played in the right way he would aspire.
Holding Midfielder:
Butt: Holding us back honestly, good stopper at times But he slows down the play much
Alan smith in MF : Holding us back honestly, good stopper at times But he slows down the play much
Geremi: Could play under the right conditions ( Conditions such as awareness of the team tactics and position of players which we have never had since Sir Bobby lefted)
Only Proper Midfielder we have :
Barton: Awareness ,bite ,passer , goal scorer , and in the mix. 1st of all a midfielder has a zone which he can cover and depending on the player the zone varies a good midfielder not only covers a large zone but also have sight to see out of it.. Zogbia has a good zone of influence but he his sight/vision is seriously lacking to be a MF.
Unfortunately Barton is a Knob but i dont doubt his abilities as a footballer.
CONCLUSION:
We have too few passers of the ball (only Barton), too many dribblers which cant pass. All good teams have passers to untilize the dribblers. Unfortunately only barton could do that and emre that could do it occasionally. Bring in people who pass and move quickly!! Good example of a ball passer with zoner influence is beckham or solano. Cant help but to think we would have won a couple of matches with just solano in the team.
I agree with most of this post...what's with all the omg's tho?
I just want to know why so many people think Cacapa is crap? Some of his performances haven't been great but he is clearly good footballer and time to adjust to the Premier League should be factored in. He is definitely not Boumsong or Bramble.
Some of his performances have been class aswell, he is imo the most comfortable CB at the club with the ball at his feet. He needs time to adjust but remember he doesn't speak English so communication is a real problem but thats with our whole defence though and he probably can't understand Shay (explains Pompey mistakes), Just recovered from a bad injury, Loss of confidence after Pompey due to the former factors and he needs to settle in like every other footballer. It's not been easy but if you captain a Champions League side you have to be damn good.

I think Beye is more than adequate and should be our captain.

I would spend £15m trying to get Van der Vaart, he won't sign a contract extension and wants desperately away from Hamburg and would like to go abroad.
-
Diarra £5m
Arshavin £8m
Fernandes "Loan"
Campbell £2m
Yoann Gourcuff £5m
Milan will never let Gourcuff go for that, he's a massive prospect.
Add a couple of m on that then He doesn't get any playing time at all almost. And it seems like they have more belief in Pato who plays as an AM also if im not wrong? Worth a try at least imo..
I agree worth a punt but i doubt they will let him go.

Fernandes, Diarra and Arshavin would do me like.

Some of the Arsenal forum members reckon that we'll play better as the players want to prove to the new manager they are the best in their position and give their all.
We'll still lose though 2-1.
-
If he does come, i hope Muntari comes along with him.
-
We might aswell support him. His track record with money is pretty good, as soon as some was available to him he spent it well and now he has made a good side that plays nice football.

And they forgot Barton's chance and when Viduka almost scored in the 6 yard box. They are really pissing me off at the minute, i thought we were better for most of the second half but they say Boro deserved it? idiots.
