  1. Difficult to tell as Ashley is equally as likely just to keep the money for himself through pure greed and being a generally awful human being I'll join you in the positive spin on it though
  2. As an aside, cancelling your direct debit doesn't get your money back that you've already paid out and should be refunded. Absolutely, he's taken money for a service that hasn't been supplied, there has to be a legal obligation to refund. Maybe Ashley is just thinking " It's being sold soon. Let them sort it all out "
  3. George Caulkin tweeted and there was no tone of concern in it; if you take that as an update. It suggested that buyer and seller had had positive 'tip offs'.
  4. I'd love to know the nature of the tip off's that's led them to take them as positive. I hope they haven't been mis-interpreting them purely due to their desire to get the thing done. "I don't foresee any issues" can be taken as positive but it's a million miles from meaning that it's a sure thing.
  5. I agree Kanji[/member] It feels like it could be so simple for something more detailed, without being specific, to be put out. I can only assume that they have their reasons for not doing so, as annoying as it is.
  6. That isn't an acceptable answer to the people involved in the transaction. The answer however was to Dan Roan of the BBC and I think is perfectly acceptable given the NDA's connected to the deal.
  7. You'd think it should be done by now but it could be something like the money just hasn't been transferred yet. When I mentioned this last it was dismissed but they have just come out of their EID celebrations so that could possibly have had an affect. It could also be something like them (NUFC + PIF/RB/AS) all agreeing on the wording and timing of the announcement.
  8. Who knows, maybe the mess is being sorted out now after the PL rejected it? I think that becomes a more likely possibility with each passing day. People keep saying chill, we're a day closer but there's a good chance its over and everyone is planning on how they save face. This wouldn’t be a shock if it is the case. I agree. There'll be a collective 'knew it' from us all. I think of this but then I flip back to Caulkin's tweet where he mentioned about 'choosing his words very carefully'. That seemed very much to suggest that an informal approval had been given by the PL. I keep asking myself what the chances are that the PL could have gone back on a verbal 'yes' I had a bit of a gentle dig at Caulkin right at the beginning (before the Companies House stuff) because I felt that writing articles on yet another takeover unfairly got fans' hopes up. I'm tending to lean back towards that because his subsequent positive and then seemingly cryptic tweets appear to have unfairly given hope to fans. I'd rather he just said nothing. I can cope with the idiot ITK's but having so much trust in his commentary has made this whole things painful.

  10. By which reliable source ? (I'm assuming I haven't fallen for a hilarious HTT-esque joke)
  11. I don't think anyone wins if it falls through. Not even Ashley.
  12. I dont think it will go away Well Mike Ashley doesn't seem to be going anywhere for a while so we'll have the twitter account for some time yet
  13. Sorry I was kidding, he never said any such thing. I thought with it being a ridiculous thing to say no one would believe me. FFS At the minute, anything is plausible.
  14. Fucking clip of him, man He hiding a lockdown haircut under that cap?
  15. I wouldn't want to call them fickle when their club has been run so terribly. Of all sets of fans, we should empathise with that. Difference is rightly or wrongly a terribly run NUFC were still getting 45k+. Leeds were getting under 20k for many games. As I say you can't compare the two fanbases. Maybe their fans are better for staying away ?

  17. He did. The topic was ducked massively by Richard Bevan as his response was about Ashley wanting to now take the offer from the US buyer. (something like that). No surprise really. Information on this deal is being kept within a very small circle.
  18. What the f*** is going on Definitely not complicated this, like. Basically he is saying (worked for the WTO for a number of years if you look at his bio) either the Saudis or Quatar can appeal the findings of the report; and as such the report would not be sanctioned until that appeal had been concluded. Which would take months if not years. Cheers. In saying that, I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. If it's the case, then the Premier League cannot use that report as a reason to knock back the takeover until the appeal had been resolved. They could say we will wait for the appeal, but, that could be months away if not years in all probability and they're not going to do that. Your second sentence is the first thing that sprung to my mind. I guess the legal boys will know if they can just ignore it because it could be years away. I'll continue to remain positive about the whole thing.

  21. I can easily convince myself that people are starting to churn anything out now to try and get a bite from someone directly involved.
