Do you really think the British media will take notice of that, honestly? Yes because what he said isn't ambiguous. He's made no promises so what could the press say. It'd be very easy for him to respond to any follow up to that.

Please don't assume that that is what he said He said it's a highly confidential process and that he'd like to conclude it shortly. Liking it done shortly does not mean it will be. He's probably just fed up with the whole thing.

Surely quoting something so specific isn't keeping it highly confidential ?

This is why i'm intrigued because it feels like him asking in public is something that might p*ss Ashley off because it would suggest that Ashley isn't keeping him informed. I think your reading to much into it. Ashley might have a line to premier league but they’ll have told him it’s still under consideration. Bruce is simply frustrated as we are and is urging them to hurry up, or more likely trying to deflect from that shit show on the pitch tonight. Aye, you're probably right, I most likely am. Guess I'm just looking for something, anything, as an indication as to what's going on.

He's asking for clarity. If he wants it, he asks Ashley to ask the PL. That's the only way the information flows. I don't know what is gained by him mentioning it to the media unless Ashley, via him, is trying to put pressure on by becoming publicly vocal. He's just asked the premier league to hurry up. As I said earlier, I'm at a bit of a loss as to why he's saying this to the media when surely, if he wants to know, he just needs to ring Charnley or Ashley and ask them. I can only summise that Ashley is not telling anyone inside the club a single thing.

Maybe he just wants to know where he stands, maybe even suspects he'll be here next season (no takeover) but just wants to know for his own piece of mind. Sometimes the not knowing is worse than either outcome. Also there's the excuse factor. Actually, thinking about it, whoever is asking, it doesn't make sense when the club have a direct line to the PL. Bruce asking of his own volition via the media doesn't seem to make much sense... unless, Ashley is totally ignoring him.

I can't see why Bruce himself is keen for clarity because the longer it drags on with nothing happening, the longer he's in the job.

I feel like I haven't the energy to hate him any more. He's the perfect manage for the club and what it currently stands for. I just feel very sad that I have no club that I can support.
