If anyone is, it will be before the Summer I would think (as long as they stay up), as the kit supplier and kit sponsorship is up for grabs and straight away increased revenue available. Honestly, I don't care to know what information you or your ITK contact has regarding the sale of the club, but I think you are both (or all if you have multiple contacts) naive if you think that any attempts to sell the club are genuine (quite likely genuine on the part of the buyers i'd say). Personally, I don't. I can't explain why Ashley goes through the pretence of looking like he's selling but I don't believe that any of them were genuine attempts to sell. I think he could have easily sold it by now if he genuinely wanted to. I think Ashley is a pathological liar and I don't believe anything that comes out of his or the clubs mouth.

Ashley's problem now is that no manager of any quality will touch us, and that's in the premier league. When we go down next time, Ashley is f***ed. What league are Villa in now though that's the point. If we did go down then I would put money on we would be back within 2 year and probably the following season. Think a lot of people on here are kidding themselves if they think relegation would get rid of Ashley. By the way Bruce has been promoted a few times proving it doesn't take a top quality manager to get out of that league. I don't think anyone thinks that's definite but only an extended period outside the PM will answer the question once and for all about what Ashley might do. Championship status and a more concerted effort from fans to stay away could work wonders. I think the club and the manager's job are too toxic now and i don't believe we'd get the quality required to make a quick return. Bruce's successes were years ago. The game has moved on.

Football supporting life isn't shite because you don't achieve it (well, it can a little), but it's particularly shite when your club actively tries not to achieve it. I get the sentiment, it’s why I chucked my ST , no need for the muppet bit, I’m a realist , most clubs are there to survive . Fair comment, apologies. The clubs that take that approach do so because they know that they don't have the immediate resources to think CL or UEFA Cup, especially if they are newly promoted. With the best will in the world, I don't see Sheff Utd or Norwich attracting the likes of Rafa Benitez. We are fortunate that we can so no fan should accept the club setting a target of 40 points. It's a negative mindset from the off.

Why the eye roll? He definitely isn't going anywhere while the premier league millions are rolling in. If we want NUFC back, we probably have to see it go lower than it's ever been before. The way I feel about Ashley, I'm quite prepared for that. He won’t sell still. He still has too much of an ego. He would rather see the club go bust like Bury, then sell to someone else takeover and take us back to the Premier League. There is no way he’s going to sell for the £49m max price we’d get in League 1 in anyway. Anyone who thinks relegations and rotting away will make him sell, are very much mistaken. You might well be right Stiff although I think he hates losing money over everything so I'm not wholly convinced he would continue to lose money because of ego. The main thing is that none of us know what he'd do in that situation as it's uncharted territory for his NUFC so I wouldn't mind finding out tbh as for me, it's the last hope of getting my club back. He wouldn’t lose money though. He’d asset strip us as best he could, then just liquidate the club before he ended up losing money. He’s only going to sell if someone rich enough to drop him a load of money with some deals tied to SD, or he dies. I'd accept a couple of those possibilities and take some small pleasure in the fact that he is no longer gaining wealth because of us. It makes me sick knowing that he sits there smug as fuck getting wealthier because of NUFC's premier league status.

I'd define it simply as a Newcastle United that is trying to be as good as it can be. He's never selling while we are on the PL, never, and absolutely, there are no guarantees about what might happen if we dropped but you know what, as it stands, i'd rather NUFC was reduced to a shell than see that evil gloating cunt get richer and more powerful on the back of us.
