I'm not sure it's possible to keep things "internal" any more at football clubs. Everything seems to get out into the public domain in one way an another - it's the downside of this modern world of communication.

You know, I am of the opinion that footballers should motivate themselves. If Nile isn't driven by the desire to think "I am going to be NUFC's main strike partner for Andy", then no amount of varying management techniques will work.

Didn't see the game so can't speak about specifics but there seems to be a general feeling that playing against 10 men = obvious opportunity to control the game . Isn't it commonly commented upon that playing against 10 men can more often than not, be more difficult ?

To be fair to Jose, any manager who would base his teams tactics around a tweet is a fool. How many times has Ferguson claimed to the press that a star player is injured, only for them to be suddenly fit on the day of a big game. If managers use Twitter as a source for finding about the opposition, then it will be used for innumberable double-bluffs.
