I was thinking about that last bit as well. They are really only intersted in balancing the books and the rest will be left to chance.
As soon as I heard this on the radio I thought that they probably arent bothered about relegation again.
Most likely just assuming that it will be piss easy to come straight back up again.
West Ham are our best bet to be our equals as their owners are as likely as ours to say or do something stupid to affect the confidence of the playing and management staff.
Does this therefore mean that Hughton is here for all of next season, regardless of performance, as he wont want the expenditure of paying him off and having to get someone new in ?
So Hughton must have been told a couple of weeks ago to put the thought in our heads that the current squad was going to start the first game in the Premier League
He takes some stick, rightly, for that silly accent but thats twice now he has brought a "first" trophy for a club (first championship for Twente.. not sure if they have won a cup before).
Deserve a lot of credit for this.
