They've known for a week and a half that things were going to kick off in and around the ground. Hardly like the banner was a total surprise. Surely they have been talking about this all week saying "forget whats going on around - focus on the game lads". Hey look at that I am a premiership coach.
-
Wey hey. Not a single quote to be found
-
As has been said before, how can a chairman/owner ever sack a manager when the team arent getting results. Cant ever be good for long term stability having a situation like this.
-
Sounds like someone taking the piss to me. Nothing to see here
-
Be interesting if they take it to West Ham next weekend
-
My heart says yes My head says no the winner is no. Its time to move on. Plus the press will just be waiting for it to all happen again and we just dont need that around our necks
-
But if they aren't anywhere closer to appointing someone, would you rather they lied to you? I'd much prefer them to be getting on with appointing (whoever they feel is) the right man for the job than trying to launch a counter-offensive media storm in light of the negative stories in the past couple of weeks. Does that make sense? Yes it does mate. In response to your first comment, I would prefer them to just tell us as it is. If they are no where near then just tell us "Kevin's leaving has left us in a difficult situation so getting a new manager that is right for the job isnt going to be easy - especialyl at this early stage of the season". Most sensible fans would understand that. Its a little something that I genuinely believe would start toheal the wounds between fans and board. My concern is that they have left it too late to start communicating. If they pull a rabbit out the hat and unveil the perfect manager in the next day or 2 then I shall hold my hands up and say they did it perfectly.

+ Wise et al.... its every single one of them combined. No one escapes blame for this.

Well none of that really had anything to do with the subject of the thread. I am not asking for a full breakdown of the full intricate working of the structure... all I am saying is i would be good for someone from senior management, to give a short interview to Sky, BBC or who the fuck ever and just let us know that we might be somewhere close to appointing a new manager. I think after they sacked Allardyce, that might not even been so necessary but this is so way beyond like anything that has ever happened before, the fans need to be re-assured. They know that the majority are siding with Keegan, thats natural because of what has been before, I am just staggered that they dont start talking to the fans to try and start gaining their confidence. The silence, coupled with the inevtiable gossip, its fucking crippling the whole club.
-
None of us have a clue as to what has really been going on so why do you assume it was petty as apposed to being serious. If you dont like the guy then just say it.
-
Oh fuck off man. How big a baby are you? So Keegan left. How much responsibility falls on the the people he left behind for not digging in, despite his departure. Or are they all crying feeling sorry for themselves as well.
-
Why are people going on like he left because someone forgot to put sugar in his tea. You cant suspect that he left because of something incredibly serious ? Why is he just expected to sit in the corner and do as he is told just because he loves the club.
-
Rumour and gossip are fucking ruining us You might have though our wonderfully communicative owner and board of directors would have come out today and put this matter to bed. More talks or no more talks. Just close the matter. Still. Some people love the silent treatment.
-
Well said that man, it hurts like hell, but it's not the end of the world. No one is claiming it to be the end of the world man but people are passionate about this club. Surely we can all accept that. This is as an emotional time time as I have ever known. Lets just accept each others reaction to it all.

You dont think that fans have a right to be given some information, any information, at a time like this? To be re-assured that the club isnt in the total disarray that is appears to be in ? To be told that the search for a new manager is at an advanced stage and that candidates have been targeted. Stunning. If your happy to just sit back and let the club act ike this then you must be a dream supporter for them then because it appears that your just prepared to let them do whatever the fuck they like. Looking at what is happening on the pitch today, I would guess that there isnt any information being fed through to the players either because they appear to be performing like a text book team of players that havent a clue what the fuck is going on and have had all the confidence sucked from them.
-
Just reflecting on a comment on Soccer Saturday Is there any other club in the country who is playing at home yet appears to have none of the senior staff in the directors box. Am sure the players are impressed by their support.
-
Why are we surprised. Fucking text book Newcastle United this
-
So are you perfectly happy not having an earthly clue what is going on with the club in terms of the employment of a new manager
-
The Ronaldinho etc story was utter bollocks man. I cant believe there is a Newcastle fan alive that believed that. I agree that most people love(d) Ashley but when it came to a point when he needed to prove himself, when Keegan walked out, he disappointingly seems to have found himself wanting. You are obviously upset that Keegan walked out and we all are, but surely you cant avoid that the senior managements (this thread isnt just about Ashley) failings appear to have come rushing to the fore this last fortnight. I have to say, whether it be right or wrong, they seem to think they owe the fans nothing in terms of communication. Fans are the lifeblood of every club, of the sport, and to not keep in contact with them during troublesome times like this, is just shite. Its almost like they are taking it as Us v Keegan + Fans
-
I wonder if both of them had to go away to just "sleep on it"
-
dont know much about llambias but ashley must trust him so im all for giving him a chance. i couldnt care less what PR comes out of the club tbh. rarely is there any "statement" on the official site worth reading and anything thats comes out is usually twisted by the media or the fans to suit their agenda. I think we would just like to know who is in charge of our club. I dont expect huge interviews on a daily basis but it would be nice to be able to gauge an opinon of the personalities of the people in charge, either by tv or even written interviews. We loved Keegan because we instantly knew, by just listening to him, that his passion for the club was equal to ours. I agree, anything on the web site is just a load of crap but just the odd word, here and there, i think is all that most people would ask for. For example, it would have been good to have seen Wise in front of a camera at some point this week. Not going into details of what happened but just to tell us that he is fully commited to the future development and success of Newcastle United. For me, the silence suggests he is just sitting in his office in London, chuckling away to himself, safe in the knowledge he doesnt have to front any direct questions. I quick interview would help change this opinion for me.
-
I presume that is purely and simply to accomodate Owen in his deeper role
-
nobody called for his head because he was/is doing very well. very decent squad, financial stability and a good start to the season. thats the best PR we could hope for in my eyes. ps. keegan himself said he had the final say plenty of times when he knew he didnt, so why isnt he the liar? my take is that he did have final say up until that final day of the transfer window. Where the lie seems to be is on that fucking ridiculous web site statement that suggested he didnt.
-
And the blatantly obvious point you missed is that Ashley and his team are saying nothing. That was James whole argument.
