gazillionaires will be the death of football... whilst i dont deny it woul dprobably be exciting to be one of those clubs, in my heart of hearts, i would know it wouldnt be the right way to go

Already said he did not do it for the cash. I actually believe that part. Its a fairly well acknowledged fact that football is not a profitable business to be in if your the club's owner.

Based on? I'm assuming transfer budgets were discussed before he accepted the position. The much publicised interview at the back end of last season. I'd assume his specific role was discussed then as well, but he continually appears to suggest not. If he wasn't happy then with the transfer budget then he should have left at the end of the season. Completely agree with you there. That's one of the things which has pissed me off the most in all of this, him waiting until the transfer window had closed. Wasnt he promised "if the deal is right and the player is right"... ?

Too skinny for me. I am not sure we would see anything under there.

http://queerdiva.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/11/16/celine_taking_chances.jpg Someone Photoshop KK's face onto that. Fucking hell has she got massive hair or a tiny face ?

Not so much. All Ashley had to do was shrug his shoulders, say goodbye to Kevin, then go out and find a new manager. If he had, Keegans bluff had been called and we all move on. But Ashley decided not to do that did he. So while Keegan maybe a disgrace (yet to be proved), is Ashley not walking away from the club any different ?

How come Jimenez isnt scouting for new players to target in the next transfer window. Whats his new title. Door to fucking door salesman
-
Hey look at that. I solved Mike's problems.

All this a right load of bollocks really. In the end it doesnt even matter what happened all we know is : It is a FACT that Keegan got pissed off with something, decided not to stay and fight it out and walked away It is a FACT that Ashley got shouted at once by the fans and decided not to stay fight and instead is choosing to walk away We need to forget about the 2 of them and somehow find a way to move on. How the fuck we do that lord only knows but we need to stop fucking arguing about who was right and who was wrong. They are both walkign away from this and once again leaving us, the fans, with all the shit and unhappiness.

Lets assume the papers were right all along about what was going on behind the scenes and that KK didnt have the power he thought. It is fair to say then that the papers have also been right when they told us Mike Ashley has been trying to sell the club for some time now.

Your still asking questions yet seem to be laying the blame 100% at Kevins door. Unless you know something none of us know. You can answer the question if you like... The answer is none of us know for certain Nice dodge. I'd say it's more likely that Keegan's been lying than for the press to be wrong, only for what they've been on about to actually happen after. That's not me laying the blame 100% on Keegan's door btw, but if he did know his timing for walking out is shocking and it's not the actions you would expect from someone who claims to love the club as much as him, still I'm sure we'll find out more after the lawyers have finished with it. If it comes out that Keegan knew all along how much power he was allowed and has been lying, what will make the whole thing even more tragic is that the club allowed the fans to get so wound up, it has ended with the owner jacking it all in as well - so we are left with nothing. They must have seen the public getting more and more wound up, why they couldnt nip it in the bud and calm things down, I will never know. I would love to know what stopped them coming out and telling us 100%, Keegan has gone back on what he agreed to and what he signed in his contract. Keegan would have no answer to that surely and would have damaged his relationship with most if not all Newcastle fans. Why they couldnt have nipped it in the bud will be anybody's guess. It must be a lot more complicated than we think. That too will come out in the wash when the lawyers have finished with it I guess

Ashley could be using this to say to Keegan, "Look, I'm selling up. Please come back and manage the club and I'll be gone soon enough". It surely is the only option now. As has been said, who will come to be manager knowing that a new owner could be just around the corner. Oh bollocks. I really need to get to sleep.

I wish I had read this thread earlier. I needed something to smile at
-
Actually, just looking at the thread title, where does this leave potential talks between Ashley and Keegan.
-
I hope it all comes out soon though otherwise this could rumble on for goodness knows how long on this board. The sooner we can definitively blame someone and talk about something else the better

Common rumour

Ashley's? Wise's? Cockney's? " For Sale "

It was one of the few protest that have got what it wanted, the last one in this country that worked was the anti-poll tax protest iirc. and in both those cases the majority still end up getting screwed. as someone old enough to have actually not paid the poll tax, when the council tax came in it was guess what ? the same ammount.

So am I to be honest. The point madras is trying to make is that Keegan lied to us by saying that he has final say, therefore he's as bad as the rest. My point is that surely Keegan said those things because he though them to be true. Just because something you believe is proved false doesn't mean you're a liar surely. if coloccini, guthrie and gutierrez werent his signings then he knew he didn't have the final say. if they were his signings then why walk ? well we are back to "ifs" again arent we so until these things are confirmed, we must surely assume that Kevin isnt lying... cant we ? Sorry for butting in by the way. thats the point...whos signings were coloccini and gutierrez ? My hope would be that they were spotted by Wise and Jimenez, and OK'd by Keegan.

Yes your right, and if Kevin has knowingly lied then agreed, he is as bad as the rest. I am just trying to clear up and find out where it has been confirmed by the club that he didnt ever have control of every player in and out and that he agreed to that. All they have said is that Kevin agreed to the set up when he joined. That confirms nothing about transfers.
-
I am confused by Hindu's and Madras' discussion Am I right in thinking that the quotes from everyone at the club at all times was that KK had final say on comings and goings ? When has it been quoted by anyone at the club, apart from Kevins statement once left about a manager not having a player imposed on him that he does not want, that he didnt have final say ? I am lost

I would have thought it highly unlikely too but you never know, it only takes one idiot. if nothing else, he wouldnt want his kids to see their father getting verbally abused by people. Thats not on but you know it would have been pretty bad. How the hell did this happen. This man was sitting at Old Trafford jumping up and down at an Oba goal a few weeks ago
