Sell... this is Michael Owen we are talking about here and he has only had a couple of months with Keegan Madness.

This hits the nail on the head. We all know Spurs are going to come at us so keeping a clean sheet is going to be hard if we sit back, try playing a tight game and letting them come at us, on the other hand as a defensive unit Spurs have let in more goals at home than Derby have at Pride Park this season, this is a game we need to be taking to them rather than shutting up shop and hoping for the best. Totally agree A game featuring Keegan's 96 Newcastle side, against the current Spurs team would have had the Sky men drooling uncontrollably. Maybe in a season or two, this fixture has the potential to be one of the best of the season

It just shows that maybe Allardyce's fascination with stats, science, diet etc in the end counts for bollox all and really what counts is a football brain to spot something like this on the training ground. This isnt something that Sams computer read outs could have thought of. For me, it just confirms that Kevin still has an excellent eye and a brain for spotting a players skill and where best to use it on the pitch

arent people being blinded a bit by the fact that he just seems like a canny lad. He is ok as a player but there are hardly people banging the door down at Fulham to sign him.
-
I think with Barton, there is an underlying feeling that if he finds form, gets his head straight, and avoids jail, he could be a really excellent player for us. At the slightest sign of him improving I think people are going to think that at last, we are going to get the player we all hoped for when he signed

Bullard is nowhere near good looking enough for our club
-
I couldn't care a jot if we finish bottom of the NE3 this season. All that matters is that we stay in the Premiership. Local rivalry can wait until next season
-
I cant explain it but I love hearing Keegan say things like this. Makes me feel like things are really happening and developing

no no no no no no no no.... come back to haunt you

Anfield is as intimidating as tea with my old granny for fucks sake. Full of happy-clappy wankers waving 'you'll never walk alone' scarves - similar to our pogoing shoe-waving tossers but in much greater numbers. Indeed. The days of intimidating top flight football grounds are well and truly over, now we're swamped with happyclappy fucking clueless daytripping Sky botherers. I was looking at the shirts-off Sunderland fans yesterday thinking what a bunch of twats they looked, then heard a couple of two times a season Tarquins behind me having a pop at O'Neill and moaning they weren't going to bother again, and thought which type of fan I'd rather have around me. Steven Garrard took a corner at the Stretford End today and some woman was standing there taking a photograph of him. No doubt a die hard, go in all weather, red fams she is Then when it panned across the Liverpool fans, some geezer had a proper professional Digital SLR camera around his neck !

That is an odd coincidence that Adebayor has gone right off the boil since he had his hair cut I cant help thinking he looks like that Makosi bird off Big Brother a couple of years ago these days.

Going to be a bit crammed on the dirt track around the pitch then EDIT: I dont mean to be flippant... am knackered having stayed up to see most of the cricket the last 2 days

I think having to listen to Motson and Hansen warps all of our brains
-
Every time I open this page and see the "RAM PANT" headline I piss myself laughing. Some days I bet they just love being tabloid journalists.... absolute gift of a story that one
-
Yer what? Well say Man Utd are 6 points clear, but with their superior goal difference that 6 points if effectively 7 because if they lose 2 and Chelsea win 2 then Man Utd should still be ahead of them on goal difference. Hansen seems to think the same applies now, when Man Utd are 5 points clear, that 5 points is basically 6 points because of their goal difference, which makes no sense. It does doesnt it or is it me ? The goal difference effectively just gives you an extra point regardless of how many you are on
-
Absolutely no idea what to say to that. I'd like to think that had he not played Barton and Smith that we might have beaten Bolton, Smogs, Blackburn at home, beaten Birmingham and got a draw out of Villa away. ie. 10 points better off and with a chance of sneaking a place at the death. You should have applied for the job
-
Absolutely agree 100%. What that does for the greater good of the game I do not know
-
Yes you do. Dissent. This is what everyone has been talking about all week... except in Liverpool

The Torres booking was shambolic The Torres booking was a mistake but Macherano didnt have to run 20 yards to ask the referee about it. What on earth did he think Bennet was going to say "Sorry Javier... I shall have that stricken from the record" Complete fuckhead in my opinion and deserved it. I mean for fucks sake, hasnt he been watching the TV or reading the papers this week I used to go mad when Peter Schmeichel used to run to the half way line to get involved in fights and arguments... its about time this kind of thing was wiped out of the game, so good on Bennet in doing it. You can bet Liverpool players will think twice about it the next time - or if not Gerrard will try to stop anyone en-route to the ref Next we need a ref to send off any player waving imaginary cards. Slowly but surely we have to get this eradicated from the game.
-
I think its only right that we are preparing for summer signings now regardless of where we are going to end up. Should never stop searching, enquiring and negotiating
-
Havent seen any of the press today. How many have told us that they knew KK would get it right in the end and that his tactical nous would eventually shine through
-
Robert Fleck? I think you need to get an updated version tbh.

You cant believe that Arsenal are happy with winning nothing. Maybe they just have a different attitude to the likes of Real Madrid and think that for what he has won previously, he deserves some patience and time. Barring Capello's saving act last season, Real's recent chopping and changing has hardly brought them tons of success. Am I right in thinking that the title last year was the first thing they have won in 4/5 years. Certainly the only thing Beckham won while he was there.
-
Bollocks. Apples and oranges. Whilst I do think he's a fantastic manager, obviously, I do find it a little unusual that Wenger is pretty much immune to any criticism in the press. He has somewhat dismantled the team of 'invincibles' and this is the closest they've got to the title since - and I'd happily wager they won't even come top 2. How has he "dismantled" them? He's sold them on for canny fees and very few of them are doing anything elsewhere. He hasn't had access to anything near the finances of Chelsea or Man Utd, even Liverpool for that matter, yet people expect him to not only compete, but beat them. Victim of his own success. Some might say fate conspired against them a little. I think Eduardo's injury had a little mentl effect on them that day at Birmingham and the less about the pitch at Wigan the better. Probably lame excuses but maybe reasons why they have at least dropped 4 points in recent weeks
