  1. Why should he get praise for doing the obvious? Because I think some people doubted that he ever would and doubted that he had the ability to see what was going wrong. I just felt that with all the anti-smith stuff spoken about, it might have got more of a mention and about how it affected the team in general Hopefully puts the contract thing to bed too
  2. The thread seems strangely void of (m)any "Well done Kevin for dropping Alan Smith" comments EDIT: Post Match comments
  3. We lost to Blackburn so got no confidence from the game, we'll win on Saturday because Fulham are worse than we are, we're playing at home and we've got the confidence of our 2nd half and the point we picked up. We'll score first and dominate the game. Very confident and looking forward to the game already. I am already worried about too much confidence too soon. They will have some re-newed confidence through their win at the weekend and theri decent record up here + they will have dozens of fans cheering them on
  4. Yes, perhaps you're failing to take into account the fact that we are, in general, quite s***. What are you expecting from this lot of players? im expecting them to pick a pass.... and deliver it ... competantly Come on man. Players confidence is shot to s***. One step at a time. We got a point and move on to Fulham. Get 3 at home to them on Saturday and we will begin to see the players basic technical ability getting back to normal standards I dont want to make excuses for them because I get frustrated at the lack of basic skill as much as anyone, but the lack of confidence has to be taken into consideration. Also coupled with a huge fear factor tonight - dont under-estimate the pressure on them out there tonight that dont matter anymore... big fuckin' hairy balls does... nowt less.... this team aint got fuck all like that Eh ?
  5. "The game is about opinions"... is a well over used cliche in football. This thread proves the point completely about how extreme different fans' opinions can get.
  6. Oh dear. only 3 points off 3rd bottom.. I can see a sticky end to the season for them.

  8. Goals are what put a smile on Owens face so with that one tonight, I am hoping he is going to go into Saturdays game hungry for more..
  9. I didnt get to see the game... what were the players celebrations like... look like a bunch of lads who are in it together ?
  10. Trying to tell myself that tonight is just the first step to recovery and to not assume that 3 points is a given on Saturday. Cant help but think we have a great chance to ease the pressure. I just wish McBride wasnt fit again
  11. Yeah. Even had a little laugh at the Martins incident saying "I wont take him off again". Good to see. Hopefully this will transfer to the players in training over the next coupdle of days and then on to the pitch on Saturday
  12. Excellent point. I bet Birmingham are very upset tonight having not won. I shall see when I speak to the lads at work tomorrow ut I can bet, what with out recent history, and their recent of fairly decent results/performances, they would have expected to win tonight.
  13. I am just so fucking relieved. Good point earned. Doesnt matter how it happened. A good point earned.
  14. I have to admit that I thought Big Sam was just what the club needed

I think in the last 7 days I have tried and gone through every superstition I know. I have tried changing routines for everything that I do in the vain hope that it is going to change our fortunes. This fucking football club have left me a mental wreck

  19. Really good article that. At last an intelligent piece of journalism about our current plight; ironically written by a footballer and not an educated journalist. Especially liked the personal reference to his relationship with Woodcock. Interesting insight Was probably that dodgy perm that was the main problem.
  20. We have Smith fit for the run-in.... its not looking good for us

Its absolutely shite that we should be feeling like this today. We have no right to expect to be competing for trophies and any club in theory can get dragged into a relegation scrap but with the resources at the clubs disposal, its a shambles that they find themselves in this situation. They should all hang their heads in shame. I just hope the players are feeling similar nerves and fully appreciate what is at stake tonight.
