But does it really matter who wears the arm band? If there was a natural captain on the field then their personality would bring them to the fore. John Terry would appear to be the captain for Chelsea no matter who wears the arm band because he comes across as their natural leader. You shouldnt have to have 1 player to look to for inspration or to lead... you should inspire and motivate each other. For me, the armband wearer just leads the team out and just just a kind of PR exercise. Michael Owen, being our most world-widely known player fits that bill perfectly.

I saw the headline of the back page of the sun today where it had a picture of Martin Taylor, clearly just kicking a ball. However, they had obviously sent one of their scumbag photographers to go out and get a picture of him with his foot in the air. The headline was "Will this man never learn". The reporter and editor responsible for this shit should be left hanging from the nearest lampost. Fucking awful journalism

We are conceding goals like they are going out of fashion. Classic hallmark of a team that goes down.
