  1. Good goal from lovenkrands and we looked deceivingly comfortable at that point. Very lucky to come away with a point in the end. Had to go in their end due to us being a ticket short. Didn't feel too uncomfortable. Luckily, after a few pints i was heading downstairs to the bogs when they scored, so i escaped their celebrations. Once at the bog, a Bpool fan stood along from me saying "Get in! Scummy Newcastle b*****ds! We're back in it now, 3 points, come on!" Just couldn't react without blowing my cover.

You could tell they've been playing badly by the audible gasps of tension on the rare occasion we went into their half of the pitch.

  2. Some of the prices this season have put me off already. Villa(£41) and Chelsea(£50) meant i didn't even consider going. They can stick it at those prices. Having said that, i've paid £42 for Liverpool, but only because everything else-travel,hotel etc-was booked beforehand. Love the game, but it's only worth so much to watch 90ish minutes of football.

  3. I'm pretty sure that there will be more flip-flops in positioning between us both before the season is over.

The only thing that I'm sure of is that they will celebrate going back above us in the table despite their previous statements that it's not a big deal. And then justify it that that they are just paying us back.

One thing this weekend has proved is that the theory that Newcastle fans are not bothered about finishing above Sunderland is now blew out of the water, the sheer euphoria on this thread and the "other games thread" has been stunning.

One poster by the name of Jonny Hall even described it as "the best weekend ever",let's hope Newcastle do finish above Sunderland to save some serious red faces on this messageboard come May.

Wearside, Sunderland faces should be red at the fact that we have even a sniff of a chance at finishing above you. Even now you should still finish above NUFC, but given the ambitions of both clubs at the start of this season, it shouldn't even be in doubt.

  4. I don't like Cantona.

What is it specifically that you don't like?

Too many reasons to list, mainly revolving around him playing for Man U.

Great player, but IMO that kung fu kick was simply unforgivable and indefensible.

  5. Sorry if people think this is not worthy of a thread but I thought I would highlight it for anyone interested. I haven't bought a replica shirt for years but saw this offer and thought it was too good to be true.

JJB have a sale on this weekend where they are selling replica football shirts for just £15. The newcastle ones can be found following the link below:

    http://www.jjbsports.com/popular-sports-football-football-kits-premiership-newcastle/sport/fcp-category/list?resetFilters=true

They have both the black and white and blue shirts available in sizes XL, XXL and 3XL, although I think XL might only be available in longsleeve.

With this you also get free printing. Tiote 24 is not on there but it gives you the option to personalise your printing and so you can just enter it there. It shows as £10 but gets taken away when you checkout.

If you use the code FIT210FIRST you also get 10% off.

Delivery is £3.99 but if you select pick up in your local store it is free.

LS Blue away shirt in XL with Tiote 24 on the back for £13.50 =  :frantic:

I haven't tried on any puma shirts so just hope that it fits!

Hope this helps at least someone. Have received my email confirming the order from JJB.

EDIT: Have just seen that they have child's sizes available as well for £10 (or £9 with code)

Good spot. Durhamunigeordie, you ARE the Martin Lewis of N-O. He's the money saving expert on breakfast tele by the way.

  6. Was at the u18s v Liverpool yesterday. One, off the pitch incident i noted was when Beardsley stood behind one of the goals, as he always does, retrieving stray balls. A Liverpool player went down in the box, incensing Beardo enough to be heard saying " I don't f***ing like to see anybody trying to get a lad a red card." Some scouse woman near me said "Peter Beardsley or not, what's he doing standing there? He shouldn't be standing there." Strange opinion on her part, given that there were "ordinary" fans stood behind the opposite goal. Meanwhile a member of Liverpools back room team walked round to Beardsley and the 2 of them exchanged strong words.

Fiercely contested game. The Spear sending off probably sealed our fate.

  7. I thought the payments started this month?

Got a list of my monthly payments in post today. Personally, as i'm not in the North West corner, my 1st payment is March 25th, then April 1st and 1st of each month thereafter.

  8. Broke Black & White hearts?

Seriously, they still think they won 1-1.

Still love the fact that we got bigger attendances in the Championship than them.

Their standard response to that one is, that most/all of our season ticket holders were/are tied into the 3 year deal from 2008, otherwise we would have had much lower crowds.

I know. In response to that i would remind them that our fans actually commited to the club for those 3 years. We put our money where are mouths are, instead of just claiming to be super-fans with little evidence to back that up.

Wearside, you're a fine one to critiscise NUFC for bringing DVDs out. SAFC bring one out on each rare occasion that they beat their small club neighbours from up the road, while when we win,it's just another derby victory.

  9. Not really his place to be publicly commenting on it tbh. Should just wait and see, like the rest of us. Coming out with s*** like this is not helping the club.

He commented on the subject as a football pundit. Why shouldn't he? His job is to express an opinion on how he sees things in the game. As for not helping the club, his efforts to help the club as manager were cast aside. It's no longer his job to help any club. Having said that i hope Ashley proves him wrong and hands over the money.

  10. 1975 - 1976 season v W Ham (h). Won 2-1 with a Tommy Craig pen and a goal from supermac. I had agonising toothache and had my black and white bar scarf wrapped around my gob. Mam and Dad bought me a set of "Striker" floodlights next day, to cheer me up after i'd had a few teeth out at the dental hospital.

  11. Just got my renewal today and am hoping someone can clarify something for me.

If i take the option of 10 years price fix i pay £504 compared to £558 if i bought a one off.

They say you can opt out every year so say 4 years time for whatever reason i decide im not going to renew, can NUFC ask that you pay the difference between the fixed price ST and 1 year standard St IE: £54?

Meaning can they ask for £54 difference x the number of years held = £216 ?

Can anyone shed any light  ???

    Clarification from the club:

Certainly hope they can't ask for the difference, but then again, what's to stop someone who only wants to commit for one season, taking out the 10 yr plan then opting out next yr, just to keep costs down for a season? I suppose the 10 yr option wouldn't then be available next yr, and if they wanted to renew, they'd have to pay the full whack.

  13. That derby should be good against Blyth. How many will Gateshead be expecting to take through.

It's a shame it clashes with a Toon home game, or i might have fancied it. The vase tie between Dunston and Whitley falls on the day of a home game too. I wonder if it would be worth re-scheduling the non-league ties. 12 o'clock kick off or maybe a Sunday.

  14. If i've read that correctly, then a L7 Milburn Family Enclosure Ticket is £345 less a 10% discount for having a championship ST therefore £310.50 plus £15 compulsorary 12th man or is the 12th man thing included already?

Still £100 for the bairn which means £410.50 in total and if i sign for 10 years it stays at that. Excellent result considering i was paying £598 for the same seat just for myself 2 years ago.

Depends on how old your young'un is. I was asking about this at the box office yesterday because i'm in the family stand. They said you can go for the 10 year deal, but once the bairn is 18, you will have the choice of moving elsewhere or opting out. I assume that if you move, you'll pay for a more expensive seat, but then be charged the same amount for the remainder of the 10 years.

  15. I'm definitely cancelling the bairns season ticket, she says she doesn't want to go back, and I don't blame her. Mine, I'm still thinking about.

My daughter sounded seriously disillusioned at 3 or 4-0 down v Arsenal. She turned to me and said she didn't know why we bother. Thankfully the dramatic comeback has restored a bit of faith.

  16. I recently bought a "legends" DVD from the club shop for a quid. They've got members club written all over them, so are probably cast offs from that. Well worth a quid though.

Some great games, Barcelona, Man u 5-0, fairs cup final are on there. Also focus on the likes of Keegan, Shearer, Ferdinand, Beardsley etc. I particularly enjoyed the old Keegan footage v the likes of Rotherham away, and of course his debut.
