  1. Often think the same. Getting one over the mags is first and foremost down there.
  2. I really enjoyed that big lounge at Bromley when we went. Perhaps a bit too much as we ended up watching very little of the game and sitting in there for most of it.
  3. Quietest Sunderland away crowd I can ever remember at SJP until the game turned in their favour.
  4. Up the saints! Was an awful performance but was all about surviving. Like the toon they'll need to get their act together over the summer though. Hope Partick get up automatically next season. They've suffered badly in play offs over the years by the sounds of it.
  5. Watched the last ever football focus today. I actually felt quite emotional because it has spanned almost my whole life. 52 years it was on and I was brought up watching it with my mam and dad who passed on some years ago. Brought back some good memories with loads of old clips and faces. All of which seems like 5 minutes ago. Garth Crooks presented Alex Scott with a framed photo of her with Bob Wilson, along with a message from Bob. They were the 1st and last presenters of the show. Alex was in tears and struggled to get her words out to finish the show and Dan Walker was emotional in one clip when he said he believed he may have been able to save Gary Speed with a few words. Haven't been interested in much of the stuff in recent episodes but I enjoyed this nostalgic finale.
  6. Disappointed, because I begrudge them any happiness whatsoever but it's all relative. They had to play 2 divisions below us not so long ago. It's their 1st time in Europe for over half a century while they've had to sit by and watch us win a domestic cup and play in numerous European campaigns over the years, including some in the elite European competition. I'd like to think this will be a rare European adventure for them and a rare season where we're not involved but who knows?
  7. Hope there's no trouble like the last time they were in Europe. Someone threw one of the cannons overboard on the ferry. Oh and may all Wee Phillies shits have antlers.
  8. It's a crime. This twats business is being anti Newcastle and conducting anti Newcastle songs and he rocks up in that DJ booth like nowt's the matter
  9. This fixture away at Fulham always brings back memories of that sunny day and 4-0 win there. His last game as toon boss and my last away game as a ST holder. Great day and we were looking good then it was allowed to turn to shit.
  10. Semis of the Scottish cup too and took Celtic to ET before a spectacular collapse. Awful in the league though, not helped by injuries late in the season.
  11. Did they say there'll be a new L7 safe standing area in that clip? Can't be arsed to watch again. Interesting if so. Hopefully boost the atmosphere.
  12. "You're gonna spy in a minute!" "We saw you spy on the Tele". Didn't quite think they'd expel Southampton, and a pts deduction as well. Ouch. It certainly should be a future deterrent.
  13. Cup wins still count despite the opposition you know. It's the luck of the draw. Chelsea got to the FA cup final by beating the giants of Charlton, Hull, Wrexham and Port Vale. Even had Leeds in the semi. Just got to beat whoever you draw. That said the league season has been awful but I think we've given it a good go in the cups.
  14. There's no way that Celtic/ Hearts game should have been ended by that pitch invasion. In reality the game was out of Hearts reach but the game should be ended when the referee decides and not Celtic fans. I think if it happens elsewhere, abandonment would at least be threatened but the authorities are shit scared of the old firm arse cheeks. Rod Stewart's a prick too 😡
  15. Once seen Cole at a signing session in West Denton Blockbusters, remember them? He looked the most miserable man on the planet. Can't be fun but he seriously didn't want to be there. Oh and he was an absolute bell end when he was singing the cheer up Kevin Keegan song after that cup final too.
  16. Hope you do it Saturday. From a St Mirren sympathiser looking a long way up the table. A table I might not be looking at as much next season 🙁. FTOF!
  17. But what about the pizza cup? And they claimed our league cup was a Mickey Mouse trophy
  18. Bit late discussing this but I'm not having all this justification of hair pulling. Likes of Le Bris and total sport pundits saying it happens accidentally from time to time in an attempt to grab the shirt. I know it happens but when did shirt pulling become a fair and accepted part of the game. Shouldn't be grabbing anything. One pundit said "Why don't managers just tell players to grow their hair?". I don't watch much women's football but i've never seen them pulling those long pony tails. Sometimes stumble across the old "Big Match Revisited" from the 70s and 80s and never see any hair pulling. Charlie George, Stan Bowles, numerous perms, Keegan, Souness and more. Don't ever recall hearing of any hair pulling. It's dirty, sly behaviour and pleased when it's punished.
  19. And he still looks unhappy 😮
  20. Surely one of the worst premier league "performances" ever that. Those Villa kits won't even need washing.
  21. Crazy to be in the position we're in. Below 2 newly promoted sides in Leeds and that lot doon the road.
  22. Sounds like we have had similar experiences. I too jacked in 2019 but got my ticket back. Still to this day annoys me greatly that we still had 48k at that 1st home game of 19/20 season v Arsenal. Hated our fan base tbh. Felt badly let down.
  23. Fantastic watch that. What a story.
  24. NUFC used to be my life. Dominated my life. Wouldn't go away or on holiday if I missed a home game. Results while still frequently getting me down would dictate my feelings every weekend. Don't know if it's an age thing but I can take it or leave it nowadays. Missing a home game isn't the end if the world. I've got used to not going to away games since losing my points years ago too. Can't even be arsed with toon conversations half the time. Generally losing love for the modern game all round. Hate VAR. Players are rolling around like fannies at the slightest touch. Takes 5 mins to take a throw/ corner these days. Changed days sadly.
  25. The Shay looks another old school ground. Wouldn't mind a trip there.
