Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand and Terry will all still be around as will Rooney. Not a manager on the planet who'd cull the lot of them imo. Everyone outside of football is going apeshit right now but it's very rare in football that such a reaction would ever be forthcoming, especially when the dust settles. It'll be piecemeal as these things always are, probably drop the Lennons/Heskey's etc and try to replace them slowly but surely. Not saying I wouldn't decimate the current team, just saying England won't. Lampard will be 34 when the euros come around. Maybe pushing it a bit, especially for the next world cup. Dropping Lennon? Probably our best winger at the moment and still young.

Ramos is held back by his decision-making. When he grows a brain he'll be one of the best in that position. Looks like Mou wants to move him to CB though. Really? The guy has all the attributes to be a great in that position. If your saying his decision making is poor then surely the worst place for that is CB?

God, this whole 'What is wrong with English football' by 'x' is going to get tiring. Unfortunately nothing will happen. The physicality of the English game isn't going to change any time soon.

Ok, attacking wise he was great. Didn't think Portugal had too many penetrations however. But Ramos cross for Llorentes chance was perfect and he had a good shot himself to name a couple.

This wasn't exclusive to Spain, not by any means, but some of the control and passing by them in the first half was absolutely terrible. Iniesta especially. Not sure what they put in the water there. Sergio Ramos was absolutely brilliant. Didn't put a foot wrong and has an excellent delivery. Contreau for Portugal was quite impressive too.

Guess I should go to work...

Iniesta was gash.

Japan + Paraguay = Japaraguan.

If this was a night game I would just turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time the ref blows his whistle or something.

What about renegade Irish defensive midfielder Alan Peugeot?
-
That's not a formation, I just couldn't think of another defender that's up to it, but could think of a fair few midfielders and strikers. Ah, when you listed the players in that specific formation it tricked me into thinking it was a specific formation. But yeah, waiting for some mega-good defenders to come through the ranks. Steven Taylor anyone?

Can tell there's not many people watching this match

I doubt we would ever play a 3-4-3 with 2 attacking centre mids. Good players though. Is Rodwell a sort of holding player? Haven't seen much of him.

You fancy the favourites!? Bloody hell! Still reckon it will be Spain if they can crank it up a gear.

http://www.francefootball.fr/FF/breves2010/20100629_000846_m-gueye-file-a-everton.html Is his name pronounced 'Ma-Gay Gay'? i always thought it would be ma-gay guy for some reason Guess it was just wishful thinking. I'll still call him that though. And I'll laugh every time.

Come on Paragay!
-
They should just rest him then and put me in goals. It's a testiment to his concentration more than anything, plus he has had plenty to do. He is lucky to have a ridiculously good defence infront of him though.

As much as I like Sanchez, he doesn't deserve to be in the World Cup 11 by a long shot.

As much as it is good to have a great coach manage your team I feel motivation is more important. A national team manager only ever sees his team every so often for a couple of days. There's only so much coaching that can be done which is why I think it's more important to have a good motivator. I don't see Capello as this, he can hardly even speak the players language. By the sounds of it he just goes mental, shouting incoherent words and throwing things about the room. Weird more than motivating. This could be why Maradona is having so much success so far.

Wooft they would be great signings.
