  1. all the refs above 3th divition have to keep logs from officiated games. I can't get that out of my head now. Thirth.
  2. I like the way that (occassionally) he'll look like he is just running away from people chasing him. He isn't particularly going in a certain direction. He just runs. Weird. Love him though
  3. What actually happened with Fabulouski?
  4. Guthrie only has to look at the ball for people to claim an assist for him here! Good to hear he is playing well though
  5. I just read ' Nolan is in the best english bar'
  6. And? Do you suggest he slates them? Or just stay quiet when asked a question? Honestly, anything other than praise will get picked up by the press.
  7. Reckon he'd get slaughtered there. Unfortunately your point still stands
  8. Not disagreeing at all as you are right but at times there were 2 or 3 clear options but whoever was dwelling just didn't seem to want to release. I tend to think it is more a mixture of the two which is a horrible predicament. Our players supply little or no movement and the player with the ball has no idea what to do with it.
  9. 1. Tosh! He'd have left 4 months later and still have been a hot prospect for Man City or any other team looking to take that next step up. 2. If that be the case then we don't owe him anything either, which is exactly the point being made. 1. It's hard to say that. A relegated teams keeper is never going to look great. Man City were probably the most exciting prospect at that time and any lower table footballer would snap their hands off to play in their first team every week. 2. Do you mean we don't owe him success? I never understood that point. We should be aiming for success and I'm sure he was told many, many times that the club was making 'huge strides to becoming regular european challengers' and then signing nicky butt, geremi and all the crap that plagued our team. 1. Quite the contrary imo, everyone in the PL knew Given's quality and would have known he'd either want out, or would be sold at a reduced price. Look at what happened at West Ham and Leeds for example 2. I mean that we don't owe him adulation, full respect, or for some even the time of day. 1. Fair point. Although it depends on whether he thought he should go to arguably the best club in the league that didn't already have a quality keeper before they got someone else. If he waited he could have ended up at a Wigan or a Bolton. 2. Again fair enough. I'm a great fan of his and how he was consistently brilliant between the sticks for us through a lot of good times. Whatever anyone here says I'm sure it was a hard decision for him to make after all his service but it was the right decision imo. At that point I watched him play for us with sadness as he tried to keep us in the games while the rest of the team were absolutely shocking. I can uderstand peoples frustration towards him but it needs to be viewed from both sides.

  11. Without wanting to start up an old debate, should we not keep Carroll on? Carroll and Best?
  12. waaah waaah he left at a bad time waaah waaah He stayed too long considering his quality and the absolute dross he had to play behind. We were going downhill with absolutely no ambition shown from the boardroom. He's hitting 30 (or has) and it was now or never. Man up you bunch of crybabys, he didn't owe us a damn thing.
  13. £208,000 a year plus bonuses for a 22 year old? Yes please.
  14. Barton's s***. Probably our best player outside Enrique and Colo. It was terrible today. The number of times the defence and Guthrie were looking at the midfield players for a pass, but nobody was available was ridiculous. One time I saw Coloccini looking for a pass, but both Nolan and Smith were around the centre circle, facing away from him and just walking forward. We had the fuckin ball and they were just preparing themselves to defend and try and pick up the pieces of another failed long ball. What is that based on? He was good at man city, granted, but for us he's been a waste of space (and money!).
  15. Barton's s***. I don't think he is. But even if he is s***, he will be miles better than our current midfield. Too f***ing right No no, he really is shit.
  16. Kaiz, do you expect him to break into the first team and score goals every week from the start!? I'm happy with his contribution, it's the middle of the park that we have the problem in. Dropping someone who is 5 in 6 would be crazy.
  17. Carroll is still f***ing s***, it's only statistics that with all the headers he f***s up one or two will sometimes be good. That's 5 goals in 6. So? If our target man was any decent it'd be more than that with our long ball tactics tbh. If your being serious that is even funnier! Of course I'm serious, anyone not wearing "He's a local lad, he's teh best since Shearahhhh lolz!!!11!1one!!1" glasses sees that. Our target man should be getting a goal every game Your funny. Where was Carroll prior to his scoring run? If we had a target man that could actually steer his headers towards other players, and use his feet as well, we'd easily be a much better side. I'm not saying a target man needs to score, but Carroll offers nothing besides being lucky a few times in recent games. Ranger for instance, whilst still being very raw, shows sign of being a decent target man in that he can hold up the ball and actually aim headers. It's a shame he can't put them away. Carroll is just a young Tore Andre Flo tbh. You should look at how many assists Carroll has, it might just surprise you. I don't need to look, as I'm well aware. He's still not good enough to be first choice striker for us, I'd be concerned if he was our 4th choice striker, even. He'll never make it at the top level, and while he'll be good enough until we (hopefully) get promoted, we need rid of him in the summer and bring in someone that's actually a footballer. Well it's not 'offering nothing' than is it, when he is scoring and assisting. How about you put some logic into your next argument. Andy Carroll has 7 in 24 apps and 5 assists. We have 48 goals, which means he's been involved in 12 of them, which in itself doesn't sound bad. Though, when you look at all the chances he's had to set people up and to put more away, it starts to get more shocking. You can't waste that many chances, if we'd not have Nolan around fluking one in here and there earlier in the season, those errors would be much more apparent and could single-handedly be a reason for us being around mid-table rather than at the top of the table. He has 65 shots (headers included), whearas 20 have been on goal. We're s*** at getting the balls to him though, but you'd imagine a player like the one you're describing would be able to produce more than statistically 2.7 shots a match, wouldn't you? I mean, after all, he has "5 in 6". But wait, 5 in 6? What happened before those 6? Oh, yeah, he did almost nothing. I can't find his completed pass percentage, but I'm fairly certain that when and if I do find it, it will be less than 30%. He's not a good striker, we're not a good team. It's not a good match when we need ability up front to make up for the shitness of the rest of the team, especially in midfield. If he can only get 56 shots fired in the Championship, what would he do in the Premiership? He's not good, the numbers speak for themselves. What he does on the pitch speaks for itself. I'm not blinded by one lucky scoring run. Basically, he offers us pretty much nothing. I'm fairly certain even Ameobi would be banging some of the headers Carroll has missed straight in. Unbelieveable. What? The actual statistics of Andy Carroll this season? I know. That's funny, your funny. You're. If you don't want to have an actual debate about something to defend your opinion, I'll resort to childlike petty replies as well. Actually, i dissected your massive post - just up above. Where you contradicted yourself more than once It's also been pointed out that other strikers offer goals too, except a lot of the others offer more than that. Shola, Lovenkrands, even Ranger offer more than just goals. And before you say 'just goals!?' think about Nolan. Couldn't have said it better. But we cant think about Nolan anymore when saying just goals. If he was still scoring now, hed be getting less criticism. I thought he was s*** when he was getting goals mind. If he's going to be in the side we must play long ball football 100%. Not true. Play it down the wings. Especially when enrique and jonas are back. Get balls into the box from wide positions. It's easily where he is best.
  18. For god's sake guys. Lovenkrands offered fuck all in that much. Shola is forever injured. Jury's out on Best. We have a 21 year old striker who is scoring goals consistently. He may be lacking things from his game but he's still learning. Enough of the fucking knee-jerking!
  19. The fact that Guthrie is either not picked or rarely picked in the centre seems to make people believe he is a beasting centre mid. Face it, he's been crap through the centre and crap out wide. Nolan or Butt instead of Guthrie? Please... It's hard to say. Smith - Barton wouldn't work, Nolan - Smith doesn't really work, Butt - anyone doesn't work. We should just bypass the midfield and play from our defence straight to the forwards. Oh wait...
