  1. Jamie Reuben, who is responsible for huge amounts of great development of our City Centre, is nothing like you describe. OK, him and Staveley may have different opinions about this, as I am sure they will have many times in the future, but they are both clever people who care about our football club. We are lucky to have both of them as Directors at NUFC.
  2. You don't need to have such a 'long' re-name as that, just Aramco St James' Park would do the job (for them, AND for us).
  3. A short almost-no-change name like Aramco St James' Park, would suit me I think, if it brings in a lot of sponsorship money. We would just still call it St James' Park anyway !
  4. Thanks Rod, I honestly do not think apologies are in any way needed. It was a 'difficult' period that we all went through, and now we can all enjoy together so many fantastic experiences (both major ones and minor 'everyday' ones) in our permanently B I G future together. We are indeed now Newcastle UNITED
  5. P O S I T I V E is the 'way to be', and I have a feeling that most of us are going to feel that way about most aspects of NUFC for a very long time into the future! We have earned it.
  6. Done that, throughout my "Skyscraper City" world
  7. Appointing those two would send a hell of a message to all those other lovely clubs in the Premier League.
  8. I understand it very well. I lived down south in London for over five years, and they all know (they really do) that they live in the UKs only true shithole, but (at the same time) they do NOT know it. The reason is that from birth they are all "indoctrinated", automatically, routinely, subliminally and otherwise, that their area is the BEST at everything. It is a form of constant brainwashing. As a major part of that constant brainwashing there is a 'consequent' denegration of UK areas that are not in London and the South East, and their ignorance become greater the further north of Watford a particular UK area is. SO, our fabulous City of Newcastle and our football club is (well) completely and totally "not even worth a mention", of course. So folks, this is exactly why the future is gonna be so F A N T A S T I C !!!!!!!!!! Inevitably we, with Saudi and Reubens unimaginable wealth and ambition behind us, are going to make them hate us so much they will just not be able to cope with it. To put it another way . . . BOY IS THIS SOON GONNA BE (permanent) F U N . . F U N . . F U N for us !!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Yes, he would be a very good choice. Looking forward to the announcement later this week!
  10. They also intend to propose this rule should be a permanent rule.
  11. As a young kid, with no money (and my parents had very little) I had got to see a few matches during the winning Fairs Cup season, including 'Feyenoord' and 'Ujpest' (I couldn't get in to 'Rangers') but I could afford a Season Ticket standing in the Centre Paddock the next season, for £12.00. I was immediately labelled as a "Glory Hunter" !!!!
  12. This Takeover is the most important event at our club in my lifetime, and as the Chairman is going to be here also for his first visit, then YES they should be, and will be, formally introduced. It may be from the pitch, or it may be from standing up and waving from the Directors Box. Either way . . . YES !!!
  13. They are about as w r o n g as it is possible for anyone to be, about anything. It's not even a "90s" thing, more like 60s, perhaps!!! The things the morons like Woodgate/Merson etc just do NOT seem to know (or don't WANT to know) . . . (1) The City of Newcastle upon Tyne is one of the UKs most important Regional Capital Cities. It is a famous place, that many, many people would love to live in and work in. (2) It is a LARGE City, the 7th largest conurbation in the entire UK. It has a compact 'City Centre' but it is a large place with better amenities (of all types) than almost anywhere else. (3) Our City Centre is one of the most beautiful you can ever find in a big business-based commercially successful City Centre, anywhere in the UK. It is not a museum-like "toytown" like York, it is an impressive big-business high quality architecural and historic (and also modern) location. It is a place to aspire to live and work in. (4) We often - lazily - get 'lumped in' with places like Sunderland and Middlesbrough when the difficulties of attracting players is discussed. This happens when Woodgate-type 'national commentators' speak, but is also enthusiastically leapt on when the unfortunates from the likes of Sunderland and Middlesbrough speak. They will happily say "the North East" has difficulty attracting players, whereas in this aspect - as in so many others - the famous City of Newcastle (the Newcastle Metropolitan area) and Newcastle United FC, have very little in common with many other parts (and football clubs) of the North East. Just ask the likes of Ginola, Asprilla, Robert, Ferdinand, Saint Maximan, etc, etc, etc. WE are different from those other places, we have always comfortably attracted the best from all over the country and the world, and (boy) it is going to be E V E N E A S I E R, from now on. (5) In summary, our Club and our City are a huge draw, and no matter how frequently the idiots recite their enthusiastic L I E S, it will not make them true! (I do all this stuff for a living - so I know these things) In conclusion . . . "Hail Newcastle United FC, the biggest and the best club in the world" . . . GET USED TO IT YOU MORONS OUT THERE !!!!!!!!!
  14. Damn !! I was hoping that Amanda might unexpectedly walk in, with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, and announce that Steve Bruce has left the building!
  15. The Media have apparently been notified that the pre-match press conference will take place tomorrow at 1.30. Does anyone know if they were told that Steve Bruce will hold the pre-match press conference at 1.30 tomorrow ?
  16. He is being forced to resign personally in public. He has explained (has had it explained to him) that he really doesn't want the £8m. (in my dreams . . . )
  17. Posted them a few posts back - https://newcastle-online.org/topic/4883-st-james-park-caulkin-sd-advertising-to-remain-for-the-short-term/?do=findComment&comment=6910261
  18. Your second image is very similar to the 1997 proposals, except they had the indoor arena (half the size of SJP) where SJP used to be . . .
  19. A two-word definition of 'lunatic' = Logical Realist.
  20. This (at the below link) is Newcastle's real population, the figure that is used by businesses to decide whether we are "big enough" to open a business, or shop here. This figure is what will determine the optimum size for our expanded Football Stadium . . . https://www.plumplot.co.uk/Newcastle-upon-Tyne-population.html Artificial and meaningless "Local Authority Boundaries" splitting the Newcastle Metropolitan Area into wierd small areas (purely for provision of local authority services such as 'bin collections' etc) are totally irrelevant in this, it is the real (actual) population figures that matter in decision-making.
  21. Urban Sprawl tends to be used to describe expansion into 'Green Belt' type of areas, such as what is happening in West and North Newcastle in suburbs such as "Newcastle Great Park". The expansions of the civilised City Centre (useable public streets and buildings) that is currently taking place at Downing Plaza, Stephenson Quarter and Newcastle Helix, etc, involve the construction of multi-million pound major City Centre Style buildings into an already fully urbanised area. The Newcastle Breweries site covered much of Helix and Downing and thus did not form part of the useable City Centre by the general public. That has rapidly changed in recent years (and is still ongoing) with the very first of the large new buildings only being constructed in late 2009. Now look at it . . .
  22. Our City Centre is currently rapidly expanding outwards, as can be seen in all the tower cranes around Stephenson Quarter, and Newcastle Helix, etc. Our City Centre open spaces will naturally become a more obvious part of that, such as the "Castle Leazes" area of Town Moor.
