Yeah, lets get behind the Trust! It's time for us to get together and try our best to make a differance. All of us want to get rid of Ashley for a long time and now we are as close as we have ever been. Ashley wants to sell, we have a buyer that has met Ashleys demands and a fanbase behind it all. Lets convince the PL this is our will and that they shouldn't stand in our way.

Can't we tell the world that we don't want to be part of the corrupt Premier League and rather play in the Championship next season? That would be bad publicity to the PL and would put pressure on them. Either they accept the takeover(not likely) or we relegate ourselfs to the Championship. Then this takeover could go ahead and we hopfully get promoted again. Stupid post maybe, but just a thought.

The league is corrupt and rotten to the bloody core. still raging over this and not sure I’ll ever get over it. We finally had it - we finally had a buyer ready to free us from Ashley and Ashley finally agreed to it - we had a buyer paying all cash and wanted to invest enormous sums in the club and region in this global pandemic. There was going to be job and wealth creation. We finally had it ffs and some group of people and a dozen clubs stopped it for their own self interests. It’s sickening man. What’s the point in football if this is really what it all boils down to? Great post! Exactly how it feels.

I would probably still pick Saudis ahead of most others tbh. If they're good enough partners for our govt, Amanda and the Reuben bros, they are good enough for me. Exactly these journalists now preaching we should be wary of their motives can f*** off. I’d happily see them purchase the club without passing the test, and then just fold the club to f*** off the PL. These journalists would be better off investigating which clubs are actively pulling Masters strings to prevent this and also what extent Bein are medalling behind the scenes. I’d say you’d be more of an idiot to continue to want Sports Direct FC to represent our great city, in a league who clearly would only value us as being continued cannon fodder for the big 6. But each to there own I’m sure you’ll be amongst the thousands who continue to rock up and happily take it up the arse. Most of those who are against the takeover probably don't attend games anyway. Some of them might be actual moral objectors. Although they'll probably happily join millions of others in marvelling at football played by clubs like Chelsea and City with their angelic owners. And most of the people in favour of the takeover has no idea who MBS is or what he has done and are willing to do to get what he wants. Don't get me wrong, I would love Newcastle to have bottomless pits of money and compete with the best in the world. But I don't want MBS as our owner. Doesn't mind Amanda Stavely or the Reuben brothers though, think they could be good owners without PIF. Has it taken you 16 weeks to realise MBS is no angel ? You should apply to the PL for a job, I think you’d fit the criteria there looking for. So you either like MBS and what he stands for or you just don't give a s*** and want Newcastle to get his money. I'm more worried what he could do to Newcastle when/if he looses interest. How would he react the day the fans will drive him out as with Ashley right now. He could build a theme park on Barrack road for all I care if this doesn’t got through. When the PL start caring about ethics and applying it across all areas of their business then I might consider it a valued argument. I'm with you on that. I think if the Premier League reject our takeover they should look at all Premier League clubs owners. There are quite a few owners that should not be allowed I think.

The only way to ever improve the world we live in is to (how can I put it) 'embrace' and 'deal and communicate' with rulers and countries that are currently like Saudi Arabia, there are plenty of them. A huge way to achieve our objectives with these countries is to trade with them (ideally not weapons!) and something like 'world sport' is a very good way to get/keep this process going. If we as a country reject these people, then they (and the fate of their people) will never improve. Don't think he will improve. All he want is power, and thoose who stands in his way will be dealt with. He don't like people who doesn't do what he wants. He is like Ashley x 100.

Sorry if it's already in this thread but what documentary? Is it available to stream? Well, I'm from Sweden and saw it on swedish TV. But it's from an american journalist, Martin Smith, and is mostly in english. Think the swedish coments in it is replaced in whatever country it's showed in. It's in two parts and is called: MBS, the saudi crownprince. It gives some perspective to things.

Have just seen a documentary of MBS and can just say I don't want him as our owner anymore. He's really a horrible person. This is not what I want for our club anymore. Realised I didn't know too much about him before and now understand lots of protests against him. I've always thought better he owns us than any other team. Not anymore. The club could be great with all that money, but I'd rather we be bought by someone else even if it does mean we don't get that kind of money. Still want rid of Ashley, but what we asked for was an owner who tried his best and want the club to compete. I'd be satisfied with that. Reject this takeover and move on to the next bidder as soon as possible.

They did a few years back for some clubs. Man Utd being one of them http://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/2017/manchester_united_fc_adidas_originals_90s_away_jersey_track_jacket.jpg Sure i've seen an image of an Adidas Originals NUFC jacket like that - not the pattern, but tracksuit top type jacket. Think it might have been from the first wave of Adidas stuff around 1995-97 ish. EDIT: Was on Twitter... EDIT 2: T-Shirt for sale, here... https://footballholics.com/shop/newcastle-united-fc/111-2009-10-newcastle-united-adidas-originals-heritage-t-shirt.html Got that one! It's very nice, but a bit small nowadays.? Must have shrunk in the wardrobe over the years.?

New kit looks really good, bar the funn88 logo. Really like the socks too!?

Don't get this talk about how exclusivity has expired. The exclusivity part is between due dilligence and when a deal is agreed. Exclusivity expired the minute Ashley accepted the deposit and the deal went to a 3rd party for approval.

It's not a company from SA it's SA. The PL themselves described PIF as a company in SA like. whose chairman happens to be the crown prince of saudi arabia (and as far as I understand he's been making more and more decisions for the country the last few years) and its literally the public investment fund of saudi arabia how the hell can it not be considered an arm of the KSA goverment But what difference does it make if it's a company, the crown prince or the king himself! Just because bein is banned in SA, they can't own a PL club? Still a totaly different question.
-
Ok, the saudis have banned bein sport in SA and there's no legal way to broadcast PL games in SA at the moment. But what has that to do if a company from SA is fit to own a PL club? It's a total different question. Is there a rule that says, if it's not allowed to broadcast PL in a country they can't own a PL team? In my world you could own a team anyway.

Spot on mate! It's theese games the younger players should play. There's nothing to loose playing a couple of them. But it's typically Newcastle! It's too late to start playing the young lads when they are 22. Would've understand it if it was a game where we had to fight for survival, but this game... I should go for Watts instead of Krafth and Longstaff/Young instead of Bentaleb(who probably won't even be here next season). Bruce = Coward

Of course it won't, it will have to come to a head one way or the other. This is a done deal for both parties not some up in the air negotiation that may or may not be genuine (like past takeovers). There's no grey area with this one, it's either the Premier League approve it or they deny it, either way there will be a very definitive conclusion. And yet we're stuck in the grey area, and have been for 3 months now!

The situation will develop as pif wont wait around forever. Also Ian Mearns MP made an interesting point last night, at what point does Ashley consider this a restraint of trade. Though there own rules don’t appear to have a set timescale for a decision, however a court could rule that this delay is not reasonable and does constitute a restraint of trade. Don’t think it will come to this though as I expect decision in next 2 weeks. WHAT!!! Are we done with "next week" now? Is it "next two weeks" doing the rounds now?
