I'm assuming that this is a good thing, in that we would have approached the one we want by now....
-
wheres this?

the thoughts in germany are that klinsmann got the best out of an already set up coaching set up and wasn't that astute himself. (the current german manager whose name i cant remember being the brains behind it) Rubbish. haha, the one word answer says it all. I said Klinsmann last summer like, before we got Allardyce. But that kind of thinking would go over the head of Shepherd.

(the current german manager whose name i cant remember being the brains behind it)Joachin Loew/Low being the person you're looking for. I dunno, I liked the idea and I also understand your point. Tbf I'd take those 2 over Mark fucking Hughes.

I agree 100%. Although I shouldn't care, also helps Pearson's CV were (and I'm assuming he will) he to move on elsewhere once the new manager is in.

Just been speaking to the neighbour, who threw into the ring an interesting proposition including Shearer. Klinsmann as manager, Shearer as assistant. Klinsmann has done it with Germany and has good tactical knowledge, coupled with the ideas of Shearer and his knowledge of England/Newcastle's passion. Both excellent strikers - should in theory, produce attacking football. His idea, not mine. But I have to say if the pair were unveiled, I'd be creaming a little bit.
-
at the end of it, I don't know anyone that wouldn't like Mourinho. He might not be everyones first choice, but I don't see anyone 100% against him. We have nothing to lose and if you can ring Australia for about 70p a minute, a call to Portugal has to be worth it. Even to say "NUFC managers job - name your price" and pay him £6m a year. If (and its expected) he were to say no, we go elsewhere.

If the "experienced" bit is true, it rules out Hughes :celb:

next week. If we're going for a specific day, Wednesday.

Alan Oliver: 'top manager' contact claim?
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to KaKa's topic in Football
what fucking size socks does Chris Mort wear if they were blown off by the name of Mark fucking Hughes??? If they were to come off at hearing the name of Mark fucking Hughes then I can only predict that this is because he was wearing socks for size 14 feet when he only has size 9 feet, therefore it would be natural for them to fall off as they don't fit. Oliver can fuck off for writing such shit. Mort can fuck off if he thinks he's appointing Mark fucking Hughes. And Mark Hughes can fuck off if he thinks he's coming here. -
no thank you. If he's appointed - absolutely no point whatsoever and fatty Ashy can fuck right off. Sideways step. Big name wanted.

At the end of the day, Spurs got Ramos, who I personally rate as an up and coming manager. Albeit it was La Liga, but he transformed Seville from an unfashionable club into title contenders and won 2 UEFA cups in the process. I see ourselves and Spurs as pretty much level pegging, and if they can get someone of his quality, we, with Ashley's funding, should be able to get someone of similar standard. -
well, I actually managed to have the dream about Mourinho taking over last night. Yes, we won the FA Cup - beating Chelsea in the final. However, the dream turned sour. Dunno if it was the cheese I ate before bed, but we blew another 12 point lead at the top of the Premiership the following season!
-
Come on Mike Ashleio, Get us Mourinho
-
me dad said that. It could easily be done without him being offically appointed.
-
I'm only prepared to think in terms of big names. Therefore, the most realistic of those, Marcello Lippi.
-
I'm gonna go to bed tonight dreaming that Jose is unveiled as manager. It'll ease the disappointment when in a weeks time we have someone like Mark Hughes unveiled. Fair enough he's done well at Blackburn, but we want someone bigger than that. Then, when we're about to hound him out and start this cycle all over again, I can fall into a daze and realise that within, Jose is managing us to FA Cup success. ......Actually, if anyone from the BBC is reading this, I'd be happy to sell you that theory as a basic plot for some sort of period drama whereby a young fella falls into a sleep and he warps back into the 16th century. Howay, it has to be better than strictly come dancing.

Mourinho said in his book that Robson offered him the Assistant Manager job with view to taking over in 2003, but Mourinho knew there was no way Robson would just quit and let him do it. Noooooooooooo! If only!
-
So they fired the manager without having someone already lined up? ffs. they had someone lined up. Shearer. And he doesn't want it. And I can't see how the ideal big names of Mourinho, Lippi, Van Gaal etc would play second fiddle in a list to Shearer.
-
Guy on 6-0-6 reckons Mourinho nearly came here with Robson.......
-
out of interest, when do people think a new manager is appointed? I reckon the board are having to reconsider if its not Shearer
-
yup.
