Awful. Had Talksport on driving home from work. They had Josh McEachran on, who Wilkins coached at Chelsea. The thing that stood out from him and all the fans they took calls from was how personable Wilkins was. I think every comment included how much time he had for people, ranging from bigger presenters and players to club staff and stewards. Seemed like a proper good egg. RIP.

They really are a horrific, whopping great shitstain of a club and an embarrassment to the sport.

Following on from my Pardle posts on the Monday Night Club, they quickly discussed us just before it finished at 9. For all the shite Sutton and Wright spouted beforehand, they backed Rory Smith from the New York Times who said we're where we are because of Rafa. Smith's obviously watched us and gave mention to dropping Diame back which has helped Shelvey and also the fact Dummett and Lascelles have progressed because of Rafa. Smith was also massively sympathetic towards Rafa being shafted by Ashley re: Abraham.

What was their craic like? As I said above, just continually pedalling the line that he was on a hiding to nothing taking that job with that squad and looking to stick up for him whenever possible, almost absolving him of the way they behaved on the trip to Spain. The lad from the Express and Star mentioned the fact Pardle lost his wallet and whatnot too, implying he's just as bad and shambolic. He also covered the points about how Pardle treats younger players, as we saw when he managed us and hung them out to dry after the second Brighton game. Sutton was saying Pardle might simply decide it's not worth taking another job because of what's happened here, as if he's been hard done to - totalling ignoring the fact he mightn't be offered another job because he's a toss manager.

Just driven back after visiting me folks for the Bank Holiday weekend and had 5 Live's Monday Night club on. Ian Wright and Chris Sutton falling over themselves to try and absolve him of the blame and saying he was on a hiding to nothing with that squad and its attitude
