  1. I always associate Republica with SkySports' coverage of England. Specifically Scholes at Hampden.
  2. just played out the match on FIFA. Won 2-1. Our winner? Steven Taylor headed goal from a corner. There's an omen.
  3. RTG been posting the phone numbers of our fans, then taking turns to call and dish out grief. Pathetic. http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/article/63429/derby-banter-gone-too-far-newcastle-fans-bombarded-with-phone
  4. http://www.amazon.co.uk/BLACK-DOGS-SUNDERLAND-A-F-C-1999-OFFICIAL-VIDEO/dp/B000ZRM740 was definitely us that coined it, marra.
  5. Me neither. Trying to think of somewhere that will be a good atmosphere but not overly crowded.
  6. did Di Canio really reckon their 2k could make more noise than our 50k?!
  7. grown up between CLS and Birtley. It depends and is mainly a mix, much like Washy. Depends who your family support. My dad is from Walbottle and my mam's a cockney. It was basically Newcastle, West Ham or betray them both...
  8. want some mackem bitterness in video format? Thought you did. Here you go...
  9. Di Canio has pua lethal vision if he can see level 7 from the dugout.
  10. the term "mag stronghold" man... http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Arts/Arts_/Pictures/2008/11/05/pete460.jpg "1992 wasn't just about Kinnock losing the election, as we can see here, the influence of Keegan meant that there was a sharp swing from mackem to Mag in areas such as Durham, Consett and Washington which up until that point, had been mackem strongholds."
  11. Genuinely scared/excited by what'll happen if Steven Taylor scores at any time, never mind it being the winner...
  12. Thought Anita looked a lot better tonight tbh. there's still a tendency of him being shrugged off the ball far too easily. Against their set of plodders I think that'll be the case.
  13. AP will "want a tackle" in there, so it'll be Tiote. Can't disagree in all honesty. Anita's looked iffy recently.
  14. he's a happy lad. http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2743/screenshot20130411at234.png
  15. we're disappointed because we lost. My heart was *duh duh duh* [heart pumping] because they shouted my name and I thank them I think I'm OK for the end of the season and I'm very happy to play. I think today we had a lot of chances in the second half but in football we have to be effective and we missed that today. It was hard to play today but as a footballer I'm happy to play. I want to play against them [mackems]. It'll be a great game and we hope we win for all the supporters because we know it's important for people in Newcastle to win this game.
  16. absolutely gutted. What a fucking atmosphere. Best I've experienced in a while. In a weird way I'm happy they got their goal. Would've felt much more sick if we'd have won that 1-0, knowing we quite hadn't done enough. Can't help but feel it was too little, too late. Over both legs, sloppy mistakes cost us and they nearly did again tonight. The introduction of Ben Arfa however gave both fans and players a lift. Everyone thought that ball was lost in the build-up to Cisse's goal. Also got a little bit snap-happy tonight. Here's two I took. As mentioned in the pre-match thread, some of their lot outside Bar Loco Waffa Cup Thursday's panoramic view from the Gallowgate
  17. One of them is trying to sing the "don't sell Cabaye" song to us but he hasn't got the tune right
  18. There's loads of them outside Bar Loco at the minute. Chatted to a few. They're confident.
