I started supporting Newcastle around 11 years ago. Looking back, I don't really know the reasons anymore but, Shearer obviously played a great part in getting me on Toon-board. Don't regret it one bit. Being a bit 'the special one' here in Germany in the end suits me. With England, it was a bit different. Was after I visited England the first time some years back that I really sort of fell in love with the country and the passion everyone there seems to have for football. Added to that, the fact that I hate Bayern Munich for many, various reasons, makes supporting the German football team difficult, too. The last Bayern player I really like was Kahn. Aye, Low Fell has that effect on a man.
