  1. Assuming this score stays the same, a point away at PSG and then beating Milan at home would see us go through on head to head If Dortmund hold PSG to a draw at home
  2. 10 games into the season with the start we've had including man city in the LC, PSG, MIlan and Dortmund and with the injuries we've had, to be 6th feels like a pretty good place. Add to that the joint best goal difference in the league and which will effectively give us an extra point over man united, Brighton and west ham at the end of the season.
  3. Overall. A good solid performance with a lot of huff and puff against a very well organised dogged defensively well set up side. Had 2 chances and hit the bar, so we're unlucky with a loss. Limited options to change a game to go for the kill and it needs to be kept in perspective. Enjoying every second of being in the CL and still with more than a fighting chance of qualifying from the "group of death". Looks us it's between us and Dortmund for 2nd and 3rd so will be very tight and make for a hell of an away fixture at Dortmund. Howay the lads
  4. We've played 5 of the current top 7 and done a job on Man City and PSG in the cups this season. Tough start to the season and considering the injuries a very solid point away against a team that will be pushing for top 8 or so this season. League position is looking respectable.
  5. Mental to think that the bookies now have us as 7th favourites to actually win the thing
  6. How does it work with gate receipts split and TV money in the carabao cup? Any benefits to us in terms of FFP of playing at Old Trafford and also having the inevitability of the fixture being televised?
  7. The "goal difference" scenario. Liverpool max points is 71. Assuming we get 1 win and 2 draws to equal 71, and worst case scenario win 1-0 in that game. The difference would still be 5. Meaning that Liverpool would have to beat Villa (lets say by 1) AND Southampton (lets say by 4) to beat us to it on goals scored. Looks a lot closer than a few weeks ago, although I would still say the above is possible but highly unllikely...
  8. In the event that we got 5 points (ie a win and 2 draws), that would get us to 71 points. For us to NOT qualify for the CL in that scenario, Liverpool would have to win all their remaining games with a GD swing of at least 8 AND Man United would have to get 6+ points from their 3 games. Clearly that would be an excruciating final day at Chelsea but I would be hopeful we would get at least a win and 2 draws! Howay Leicester and Villa v Liverpool though!
  9. I think we'd have all taken 9/12 points from man united west ham and Brentford and Aston villa. Yes today's result was disappointing but this was one of the toughest remaining fixtures. We have spurs arsenal and Brighton at home and Chelsea will have nothing to play for when we meet them at the end of the season. I think we now have the better fixture list compared to our rivals. Still above spurs on GD assuming they win today.
  10. 23 games played, 15 to go. Only lost 2 league games. Best defence in the league. Goal difference of 20. Still 4th entirely on merit. It was never going to be plain sailing was it? It will always be tight to finish in the top 4 but with 15 games left and no distractions after the final next weekend, no European fixtures and FA cup to further exhaust our squad I fancy our chances as much as anyone else's (Tottenham and Liverpool being most likely challengers ) If our bumpy patch involved a few draws and then a loss to Liverpool whilst Bruno was suspended and we can start to pick up again then great. We've achieved all of the above despite Isak being injured for most of the season. Gordon ASM and Isak back now. Just needs a few of them to get back into full form and we have a crack. I won't be particularly gutted if we just miss out. Phenomenal season all things considered.
  11. I'll be doing that! Just trying to work out where...
  12. Is there any plans for a N-O group meeting up in London (without tickets for the game) that I could join? I was going to watch it in Kilburn with my mate at a screening but he's now got a ticket in the ballot.
  13. Didnt watch the game and havent followed the thread. Sounds like another one where any key players are out and the replacements arent good enough. Brunos suspension illustrating that point as well as Wilsons injury. Still, disappointing result but we are still unbeaten and were never going to walk through every game to finish 4th. Could do with a good performance against Liverpool and I would take a point and then hopefully Bruno and Wilson in for the final.
  14. Duchess Belle at Battersea is a decent sports pub. Bit of an eccentric place and right next to the station.
  15. Is there an N-O group based in London likely to be drinking anywhere?
  16. Is that merton road? whats the vibe like for toon games?
  17. Grealish went from Villa to City for £100m. That's the crazy Market we're in especially for English players. I haven't watched the guy but he is 21. If he turns about to be half as good as grealish his value will probably increase...
  18. Any last second spares i would be able to take you up on it tomorrow!
  19. 4 points ahead of Spurs and 6 ahead of Liverpool plus the goal difference. Looking at our remaining fixtures we've got all the top 6 except City at home and most of our away games against the mid/lower table teams. All things considered, it looks like a fantastic second half of the season. It will go down to those games at home against the big 6. I had us down to finish 8th at start of season and to think 6th or 7th now looks like worst case scenario. What a season!

4 points from Leicester (A), Leeds (H) and Arsenal (A) would have to be seen as a reasonable return. A point at Arsenal to take it to 5 from those 3 fixtures would have to be seen as very positive overall.
  21. Closed out a laboured 1-0 win Another clean sheet Great Almiron goal- reminded me of Solano v Everton (H) Still in the top 6 Considering just a few days ago we played Man U away and considering the number of injuries we have, 3 points and continuing the momentum is fantastic

I would expect not many clubs outside the top 6 will get more than 2 points from City (H) Man U (a) and Liverpool (a). Agonisingly close to it be 3 at Liverpool as well.
  23. Been to see them at Arsenal away with my brother who is a fulham season ticket holder. Think they look reasonably solid at the back for a newly promoted team. Mitro has been a menace at the start of the season. Attacking wise, it is all built round Mitrovic and I don't think they have many other players to be feared. We should be looking to stop crosses coming in and if we can manage mitrovic then have a chance of getting a result. Their general play at home is attacking and positive and they have started very well. Think it will take a lot of effort and a good team performance to get 1 point, let alone all 3. However thats what we should be aiming for and hopefully 1 or 2 players back from injury will help us here.
