  1. Don't expect to see him there. I think he has the same problem as when first coming here; not comfortable enough when playing one of the wingers in our 4-3-3 formation and not good enough to be battling for the main striker position. Never say never though, but he definitely needs to be involved in some friendlies soon to be considered at all.
  2. Just came home after a hard nights work. Thought I would just come on here to check how the old black and white was doing, already resigned to just find threads like "would you sit next to Barton in a quizshow?" and "ronaldo is making fun of my new haircut!!", when I saw "Wayne Routledge signs on 3.5 year deal". Needless to say, I was blown away by the news of what to me seems to be a very decent signing. I will read tomorrow what people think and why this is all part of ashleys masterplan to destroy football as we know it, but no matter what happens, at least this signing made me able to go to sleep tonight with a smile on my face.
  3. Very emotional celebration from Løvenkrands, looked like he was almost crying. Very important goal for him and the team.
  4. A good first half, with both sides playing well. Objectively I think they had a bit more of the initiative and have been more of a goal threat. But I think this is the kind of match where we'll have the second half and probably win it! good goal guthrie and a nice return to watching football. 2-1
  5. Goal!! Kevin Nolan hits a very good right footed shot to the lower left corner from the left channel (aprox. 20 yards) and scores!! Newcastle United now leads 2 - 1

    Football Violence

I wholeheartedly disagree. A film like Green Street Hooligans is portraying tendencies that already exist, so to assume that it creates a new breed of hooligans is just a backwards assumption. But I would say that if a film like Green Street Hooligans, had actually changed society by such drastic measures, it would be great. It would not only make Lexi Alexander a genious of a filmmaker, but also significantly increase the importance of films and art alike. Marvellous.

Better than and hughton I would think. What comment did he make??
  8. A great man has left us. He leaves a legacy to remember. It's really a shame that he goes now, with the club in this shambolic state. But then it could be even worse.
  9. It seems the BBC might have spiced the story up a bit... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,25192286-23109,00.html
  10. That's very good news. It will allow Shay to leave, which he definately deserves if he wants to. Hopefully we can get some good cash + michael johnson for Shay.
  11. A technical and pacy, but very lightweight and lazy, player. Since he changed fr om Rangers, where he scored an awful lot of goals, to Schalke, he has been injured almost constantly and has never really gotten into shape. I also seem to remember a german magazine giving him the award as being the most lazy player in the bundesliga; meaning the playing making the least tackles per game.
  12. Presactly. Intelligent play... 20/20 hindsight. Fact is he would have been more likely to score from being in on goal than from that freekick. I know, it was the right thing to do. Just makes it all the more frustating.
