Legends in NYC?
-
Are they using video technology in Spain? Kept seeing play stop for long periods during the Malaga - Barca game especially the first goal.
-
A lot going on with Mahrez's haircut.
-
Bit early to say that Def too early but he has been everywhere today. Having an excellent game. Barkley on the other hand needs to get the fuck up. He's been rolling around the ground maybe five times so far.
-
How did he miss that? Wtf 3-2
-
Well this has started quite nicely.
-
But he was a good player at Arsenal. He just looks ordinary at City. Career/money wise - Yes. But as a footballer, his levels dropped quite drastically. He also has averages like 20 PL games a season at City and shares the LB position with Kolarov. While at Arsenal, he was starting whenever he was fit.
-
I'd take Clichy. He's had a strange career. When he was at Arsenal, I thought he was one of the best left backs in the world. Then he went to City and his career just dipped. But I think he could do well for us.

Yes and no. Sissoko was a bizarre decision (still wondering if it was to do with taxes given our huge profit this year) but Wanyama has been a massive success. I genuinely believe that Janssen has the potential to be an excellent buy - the guy is only 22. GKN is younger still, but hasn't really shown a lot. I suppose the concern with Zaha is workrate, but there's an argument that he's exactly the kind of player we are missing. The trouble is - as always - that we can't even come close to matching the wages that the big guys dole out. I believe Ashley Young is being paid more than any Spurs player, and nearly double the wages of most of our first team, let alone our squad players. I would argue that Alexis Sanchez would score 30 goals a season in our team - he's just about perfect for us - but we simply can't afford the wages for players like that. We end up taking punts on players like N'jie, N'Koudou, Chadli, Son etc etc and just have to hope that enough of them work out. Next season will be interesting. A few of your players initially started slow and are now mainstays in the team. For instance, Dembele. He came in with a lot of hype as he was really good with Fulham but IMO failed to deliver in his first few seasons. And a lot of Spurs players regard him as the best player in the team on a technical level. Now look at him, he's a key part of the team. I really like Pochettino because he persists with his players. Hell, even Sissoko could step up next season.

Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)
Astroblack replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
I feel like even if he isn't as consistent in the PL next season as he is now, we should always have him starting. Would rather have him than a hot shot continental winger that will perform better for two years but then leave at the first opportunity. I feel like Ritchie knows he's at a huge club and appreciates it. -

I hope Ritchie stays for years to come. There may be better players out there, but his character is worth a whole lot more. -
Their bench of Ben Davies, Trippier, and Son are really stepping in this period. Last season, they didn't lose any of their players but their transfers in were really poor. Next year they should go for Ward Prowse, and Nathan Redmond. I don't think Zaha, who they've been linked with, suits their style of play.
-
I can't say it enough, Spurs' progression over the last few years has been so impressive. They've done it organically. I hope they don't lose any of their players or manager and continue to improve.
-
The pass, fake and finish for that third Spurs goal.
-
Very nice touch and finish from Vardy for their second.
-
I've only seen two or three games this season. How's our style been? Are we playing good football? Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere.
-
Probably did it unconditionally, and then realized what he was doing.
-
Just saw the Khedira goal. Really nice. Anyone think he's underrated? He doesn't get as much attention as the other German players.
-
That guy is quality! If we signed him, I'd do cartwheels. Definite game changer.
-
The longest he's gone this season without a goal is two matches. You're right. I took a look at their results and he actually has scored in a lot of them.
-
Why does everyone say that? He could go missing for four games, and score four in a single game in game five and his record would read four in five. I don't think he's as consistent as people may think. I feel like he needs five or six chances to score a goal, too. I've seen him miss some absolute sitters.
-
Probably De Gea. Personally I don't PEA is that good. I haven't seen him too much, but when I do, I'm disappointed. I feel like he misses way too many chances. And his goal scoring record may be inflated because he scores multiple goals in a single game.
-
Sure feels that way in America. I've prefer pickup football, but the fields are taken up by pay leagues and youth teams. When they're done, the sun's gone down and the fields that have light are taken till 10:30 PM.
-
Thought the City - Liverpool game was the best I've seen in the PL all season. And the Pep postgame was interesting. He was so excited about the way his team played. I'm no fan of his but it was nice to see some authenticity from a manager for once.

The finishing has been so poor. So poor.
