    Armband up for Grabs

Owen wont get it. He's turn it down just so he doesn't have to write about Newcastle United every 2 weeks in the programme. [/standard response]

I don't know what Pauls done to get this reputation of being "good".

  5. Give over man, some people just want to know who players are who they don't know. If it makes you want to cry, don't read or post in it.
  6. Who's the blonde fella? Mark Bertram Fantastic guess if true, wtf is he doing there anyway Looks like him. He's lost a lot of weight if it is.

  9. Aha, I like your thinking. Is it a straight knockout now?
  10. Link SAM ALLARDYCE will use his pre-season friendlies to determine who will captain United throughout the coming season. The United players were back at their Benton HQ again for training this morning after two days off following their Austrian boot camp, but as yet they still don’t know who their on-the-pitch leader will be for the coming term. And Allardyce’s search for a captain will begin at Victoria Park on Tuesday night when a big contingent of the Toon Army will be heading down the A19 to take in his first game in charge of the Magpies against League One outfit Hartlepool. 11. Link SAM ALLARDYCE today admitted he will not be able to rest easy until September 1 – despite Michael Owen’s pledge to stay on as Newcastle United’s top striker. The Toon manager is more concerned about losing Oba Martins than Owen after declaring to the Chronicle last month he was “100%” certain the £17m man would stay at St James’ Park. Until the summer transfer window slams shut at midnight on August 31, however, the chances of both Martins and Owen quitting Gallowgate remain a possibility due to the get-out clauses written into their contracts. However, Allardyce admits that, while the window is still active, he will still strive to add to his squad. He said today: “It is a short window and a very volatile period. “Once the window shuts, we can all breath a sigh of relief. I can reiterate the fact I hope Michael enjoys pre-season with us, scores goals, enjoys his football and helps us become successful. “We want more quality players, and we want to be a real force next season.” The Toon boss was not at the training ground today to oversee the squad’s first session back in the UK since Austria and was thought to be undertaking “other business,” meaning he was not able to run the rule over Argentina midfield player Aldo Duscher on his first day of a trial.

    Keegan Talk In

Link GEORDIE Messiah Kevin Keegan is set to make a sensational return to Tyneside to meet members of the Toon Army. The return of Special K to Newcastle is sure to cause a late scurry for tickets – but the bad news is the event is almost sold out, with the Lancastrian Suite set to be bursting at the seams on November 29. Keegan and his former team-mate and star player Peter Beardsley, who he played with and managed throughout his memorable footballing career, will both be present at the Grass Roots Arranged Sports Show talk-in, with Graeme Forster set to play host at what will be a sell-out. Speaking on his return to Newcastle, Keegan simply said: “It will be great to visit Newcastle again.” But it’s a safe bet that you will be able to hear a pin drop when Keegan speaks on the night. Keegan’s influence as manager of United in the 1990s proved to be nothing short of phenomenal, with many Toon fans still clutching to memories of his five-year stint in charge. And with Beardsley also present, it will rekindle memories of the early Premiership years, when the Geordie striker made a stunning second coming to the club. The night, sponsored by Team Valley Reinstatement Ltd, follows in the footsteps of a similar talk-in earlier in the year when Alan Shearer and Rob Lee both wooed Geordie fans in a unforgettable talk-in. Keegan now runs his successful Soccer Circus business in Scotland after leaving full-time management which included a spell as England boss. The popularity of the two icons will ensure a magic atmosphere when they will speak after dinner about their careers whilst answering questions from guests. Funds raised on the night will be shared amongst local clubs as well as Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit. For further information contact Forster on 07769 706 611.

  14. New season ticket seat, knerbheed! Bet you've saved about £300 doing that haven't you? £14. Eh, I thought you always bleated on about how you were in the £600 tickets bit? Aye and now I've moved to the £583 tickets bit. Baby steps, Ally, I don't want to just start slumming it all in one go. Ahh right, I thought the East Stand was much cheaper than that. £440 for me, I win. £440 for a ST? Thought £482 was the cheapest. Yeh SJH Level 7, I was quite surprised too. That's quality
  15. Welcome to 15 posts ago Shepherd ISN'T chairman....Fact. So who is? Chris Mort - a lawyer brought in merely to see the takeover through to its conclusion. A lawyer who is earning a huge salary doing corporate deals in the city and will NOT be here in nine months' time, let alone for good? I know for a FACT that FS will be back at his desk next month - AS CHAIRMAN. Why would he return to work at SJP as a mere employee when he has almost £40m burning a hole in his pocket? Your up against a person/people who wont tell you what they know & to be fair you have to respect that. However they should not have posted anything at all. No, I'm up against people who DON'T know. How do you know people DON'T know. How about the fact that you've admitted yourself you don't know who the chairman is. You even suggested it's Mike Ashley, a recluse whose own man (Mort) says wants nothing to do with the day to day running of the club. In short, you lack credibility. I think the confusion is that, although people know Shep is officially the chairman, he is more than likely not doing the job at the moment and people want to know who is pulling the strings.
