    Nick Pope

Any footage of Dubs? Hope he was able to enjoy it despite the personal disappointment of being left out. But it was the right call, you have to play the opponent and Popes sweeping and superior height and shot stopping were more suited to Liverpools strengths

    Kieran Trippier

What I noticed right from the off was that he was right into everything aggressively. That's what made him so good I'm his first period here and he set the tone and example for everyone in those early days. When he had his wobble, whether it was physical decline or off the field mental well fare, he noticeably started backing off and looking scared to engage due to lack of pace. But not today, that was the Trips we fell in love with, smashing in, winning duels, pushing forward, aerially strong, organising those around him. When he held that hammy I was so gutted for him and for us what impact it might have 2nd half. No bother he powered through and kept going. Top lad.

That's the right phase for him and Tripps and arguably Burn aswell but yeah they all played like a version of them from a few years ago. Just a few levels up from the norm. Just showed how much it means to them all. To see so many of the players crying today was a real show of how much it means to them. They aren't just mindless rich footballers, most of these lads genuinely care and wanted to deliver this for us fans aswell as themselves.
  4. Kept thinking about that awful commentary few weeks back when we played them in the league and they were taking turns tugging off Salah, "he just plays the game with a smile on his face" Didn't see any smiles from him today did we.
  5. There's a lot to unpack there. Let the emotion hit you whatever way. Not everyone cries or whatever. But maybe it hasn't sunk in yet that it's real. Or maybe because the nature of those excruciating injury time minutes may have altered the pure joy. But whatever way it doesn't change that your team has finally done it

    Jacob Murphy

Looked like classic symptoms of cramp so wouldn't worry. Just showed he left everything he had out there. But yeah that assist perfect. Don't remember him ever winning a header so to do it now and put it right on his buddies toe, perfect.

    Tino Livramento

Was a blessing he got to play a warm up against West Ham. Someone must have said to him, don't be afraid to put it in with your left. Thought he was excellent. Played with real confidence in himself.
  8. So i know we were all properly too terrified to believe, but that first ten mins or so after all of our players had a touch did anyone else get the little tingle of hope? Started for me with Trippier winning his first duel, then Tino went on a positive run and I just thought "hello, there up for this, it might not be the usual not turning up". All of them were near perfect, the only slip was the Bruno failed pirouette that led to the goal, which shows just how clinical they can be if we had gifted hem anything else. But no criticism of Bruno he was great apart from that. But despite everyone player great big standouts for me were Burn, Joelinton, Livramento and Tonali in terms of overall performance. Murphy Isak and Barnes did the business aswell. Trippier great first half and managed his injury or whatever he had well 2nd half. Love them all. They are all heroes. I still can't believe it finally happened.
  9. Boys should be floating on air. That's a massive weight off our shoulders and the fans should be buzzing their tits off for every game now. So I'd like to think we're gonna gather some momentum and smash these next ten games. Depended on injuries and how much today took out of some of the lads ofcourse. But with an international break, if the boys that aren't playing can rest up and hopefully the Brazilians boys aren't too tired when they get back. We should be buzzing for that next home game.

    Dan Burn

What an unbelievable performance. He's tall enough but he looked ten foot tall today, with the England call up and then to not put a foot wrong all game, mopping up everything that came in the box and to score the goal every Geordie has dreamed of as a kid. Legend.

    Jacob Murphy

Literally gave everything he had today. Enjoy it lad, you're part of history.

    Alexander Isak

Difference maker. Probably wasn't even fully fit, but give him a chance and he scores.

    Joelinton

Absolute monster. Literally embodied everything about what it means to us all and roared us home. Love him.
  14. Another Colossus among many. Helped bring it home. Covered every blade. Put him in that team two years ago and we possibly get a different result then to.

    Kieran Trippier

Thought he was fucked with injury first half but he was a stand out performer first half. Was winning every duel and right up for it, helping to organise. Saw him crying at full time and it looks like this meant alot to him. So chuffed for him and helped redeem himself after the last difficult year or so and is now part of history.
  16. Fucking get in boys. Can't believe it. So happy. What a game, what a group. Chuffed for everyone
  17. Ugh feels horrible this pregame nerves. Good luck everyone, praying this is our moment. Shame we're stuck with the sky coverage even on itv. Wish could switch off commentary.
  18. What an awful choice. The problem with sky is you'll have a commentary team of that Liverpool and Salah sycophant Peter Drury and ofcourse unbiased Jamie Carragher on co-comms. Itv are usually the pits for commentators too but atleast might be able to tolerate whoever they have.
  19. Been a staunch no chancer for awhile, especially since the red card and the injuries. Was trying to protect myself out of desperation so that another Wembley defeat wouldn't hurt as much. But as each day ticks by I keep finding my brain saying "yeah, but what if we do it....." Damn you hope, you get me every time!
  20. Brahim has been awful since coming on.
  21. The gall of him to walk around in a strop considering it was him who took that atrocious penalty . Should be busting a gut to make amends.
  22. Genius bit of punditry there from Karen Cairney. "Who do you fancy in this derby Karen?" "I'd have to go with Madrid"
  23. Yeah disagree about 1 more good season out of him. He has zero pace as it is, so it's not like him slowing down due to age would really make a difference. He looks like the sort of player who will keep a similar steady level til mid 30's.
  24. From what I have seen of Liverpool, and again in moments last night, yes they have undoubted technical quality, but alot of the time it feels like forced chaos. You see it when Salah bulldozes his way through, or Jota, they just play at such a frenzied chaotic pace that the ball seems to just ricochet their way most of the time and they force errors. I watched a few of their attacks and if it wasn't for PSG having incredibly athletic defenders, Liverpool would have scored far more. Some of those chances if they are up against Burn or Schar or Trippier will be heart stopping. On the flip side, it looks like the only way to get at them is to be on the front foot and try and get down the side of them and stay away from VVD who is like a magnet and reads the game so well. We are going to need Tonali to have the game of his life and mop up every counter attack if we don't park the bus however.
