For me personally, never saw any evidence of this for Bruce. Only the contrary.
-
He's always looked quite useful whenever I watch him.
-
Don't think it's an obvious dig. Depends what your persuasion is of Bruce. If you hated him like most then yeah it's a funny dig, but if not, then it could just be a innocent nod to a funny moment in recent Geordie folklore. Would have arguably been better with someone who suffered through the Bruce years like Schar or something but then that would have been a more obvious dig

Whoever produced that definitely knew their Newcastle lore. Vibe was spot on.
-
Winger did great there. Not sure about the defending however.
-
Yeah need to spend fortunes just to stand still when competing with these established cartel.
-
Don't need to, just wait for us to agree fees then match it and add on a few extra £'s in wages and done.

Had a delivery driver Chelsea fan just now apparently convinced we were signing Madueke from them. Not seen any rumours about that so no idea where he got that from.
-
Plus you just know as soon as we banked a large number to help PSR if that's the argument..you just know they will suddenly scrap it or something and then we'd have already lost the player without any benefit.

Always felt the window was never going to live up to expectations of many that we sign 5-6 class players. But I cannot forsee a window where we don't do anything, that would be pretty inconceivable and pretty negligent on the club's part. I think we will do some decent business eventually but it won't be the ideal scenario that Howe spoke about unfortunately of getting them in early. Probably not even anyone's fault. This summer has just proven so far that PSR is still bullshit and just keeps the "big 6" at the top and they have had first dibs on any players available so it really is a case of having to sit and wait for the big boys to pick and choose what they want and then seeing what's left from the players we have scouted.

I mean I'm sure most of that article is bollocks. But, and fair enough they can charge what they want he's their player, but come on, what the hell has he done for them to quote anywhere near £85m? The only reason he would be in the £50m bracket for me is purely because they already paid a high fee to get him. But his suspensions last year, and general performance didn't warrant anywhere near an asking price like that and I rate him a lot and think he'd slot in perfectly for us at RW. But the facts are he hasn't lived up to his ability so far and under the right coach like Eddie he could and likely would kick on to a much higher performance level but so far he hasn't shown that at West Ham.

With my negative hat on, he could struggle with fatigue/injuries next year, especially if getting flogged with all the extra games if we haven't signed an adequate Wilson replacement. Could also be a scenario where it becomes public that he has refused a new contract. Which will sour abit of his relationship with fans and like Gordon last year, you will get a whole load of body language experts suddenly jumping on him and claiming he's not trying anymore etc. Then if we finish lower in the table, miss out on CL and don't win anything. Then with only two years left, and perhaps with less impressive stats due to a drop in performance levels, his value will drop considerably from where it is now. On the more positive flip side, he might be able to recover his injury problems with a good summer off, come back fit and raring to go and continuing to involve into the elite player he has been. Then maybe we do somehow boost the squad and have the depth required to give next season a real go and helps us kick on to the next level and he then signs a new deal and wants to stay and win things with us.

Tino must be injured right? Very odd that they benched him and didn't bring him on either, considering he looked like one of their best players and probably most experienced.
-
Said I wasn't gonna watch any club world cup but then saw Tino wasn't playing for u21s so sacked it off. Hilal have a pretty decent squad for a saudi side. Wouldn't mind a few of their midfielders in our squad. Pretty sure these were the ones that were paying fortunes for Neymar only for him to play a handful of games and then piss off on a free back to Brazil.
-
Didn't realise Inzaghi ditched Inter for these.
-
England 0:2 down. Serves them right for benching Tino.
-
Said it at the time the first rumours started that he was going there, but still think Trent might be a massive flop at real and find himself out the team pretty quick when they realise how poor he is off the ball. Alonso could build the team around him to negate his weaknesses but they have too many other good players to need to do that so doubt it.
-
Atleast this time we are going into that Villa away not completely cooked physically with a few injured players being carried also like we did last season. Should give them a better game atleast even if it is a tricky opening fixture. Fixtures look brutal though with the champions league dates added in. We are in for a rough season if the squad doesn't get significantly boosted this summer.

Cardiff went from Blue to Red didn't they? Pretty sure Cardiff fans didn't have opportunity to vote against it? "2012: Owner Vincent Tan, with the aim of attracting investment and appealing to Asian markets, changed the home kit color to red. This change also included a new crest with a dragon. "

4th season in a row now with the green/white or white/green theme. Pretty obvious then that PIF have insisted on a Saudi coloured strip every year from now on then. Pretty grim and on one hand I think if Ashley had forced a red, white and blue Sports Direct kit we would have all been kicking off. But on the other, they are the owners and they could be complete twats and rebrand us completely including changing the home kit to Saudi green + white, so in that regard I'm probably grateful it's only the away strip that is effected, and until now the first few weren't awful.

Don't feel he's done enough at Brighton to justify paying double for him what we would have paid 2 years ago. I know the fee is based on what Brighton would be willing to sell him at and not his true value but the point still applies from our perspective.
-
Feels unfair for him to be playing that level. For his opponents I mean. Shame they have him playing left back though. Would like him to get back familiar playing right back ready for next season.

Feel like that betting advertising ban has been coming in for about 3 years and it's still always "next year" Anyways I kinda agree with that article, never felt comfortable with the amount of betting ads all over sport. Felt like when I was growing up it was completely banned wasn't it? And you couldn't have it on football shirts and other things and then it got lifted and it went into hyperdrive. Can't work out if I object morally or just because the volume of betting companies and ads are so irritatingly shoved in our faces.

Lost me with his weird squad selections already. Add in that the underperforming nations from recent years are starting to look decent again, the heat excuse for a USA world cup, and the fact we get beat when we eventually face someone decent in tournaments anyway and I don't hold much hope for success. Actually might be worse than Southgate if he loses that team togetherness that was cultivated and I wasn't a big fan of him but I could respect that he did bond the group together better than most we've had over the years. He just lacked that ruthlessness and tactical edge when it came to getting over the line.

Kudus would be good for us on the right. His best position and gets shunted to the left for WH to accommodate Bowen. But like many transfers, the time to sign him was for £30m the same time West Ham got him. Now they would want £50-60m.
